Dancing with Fairies ~ A layout by Kylie.

March 5, 2018

The soft pastel tones of ‘Fairy Garden’ will inspire you for many a pretty project.Delicate Florals, Butterflies and Fairies are all a part of this beautiful range. I was inspired to create a layout with this range and drew inspiration from the gorgeous prints included.Do you believe in Fairies??……

‘Down beneath the garden path,

Fairies gather to dance and laugh’………

Here is a look at my completed layout-

I’ve combined many different papers for my background and I love the mix of stripes, spots and florals. I back a quote from the sticker sheet with foam tape to add to the sticker border I have also added. It was a perfect descriptive piece for the theme of my overall layout.

I’ve layered lots of collectables to balance my photo and I have also added some delicate vines from the 3D flower die set. These are a great space filler and can add wonderful texture to your layout.

A close up showing some of the gorgeous collectables from the range. The cute little Fairies are a favourite.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing the layout I have shared with you all today. ‘Fairy Garden’ is set to be a very popular collection, perfect for creating many wonderful projects for the little girls in your life.

Until next time,

Tutorial Tuesday- “Love Blooms” layout with Kylie. Video included.

February 20, 2018

The lovely colour palette and paper prints of Miss Betty had me totally swooning this month. A truly lovely collection! Today I will share how I created my layout featuring lots of paper layers and some die cut flowers. I’ve prepared a process video for you all but before we begin though, let me show you my completed work-

There were so many pretty papers to choose from with the choice of floral, wood grain and fabric print just to name a few.It made my background paper choice hard to decide on!

To begin my layout I cut some length from my backing paper THREAD (reversed). This is probably the only element of my layout that I used precise measurements. I began by cutting 1″ (2.5cm) from top and bottom of my page.Keep both strips, and proceed to cut another 1cm (10mm) from both top and bottom again. Both these smaller strips can be discarded.

Next I cut two 2″ (5cm) strips from ‘SEWN’ .

From here it was a matter of reconstructing my backing paper. I had distressed some edges a little to give texture before doing so.

As you will see in my video I have incorporated three different papers through the middle of my layout. I did not use specific measurements for these and preferred to go by cutting by eye and what fitted best. Once I had backed my photo and laid everything in place I lightly marked everything with pencil so I could get it back in place after using some stamps in the background. This can be a really helpful tip for work where you include mixed media of some form.

Here is a look at my full process video.I hope you enjoy.

I was super happy with the layered element my paper flowers added to my layout, and the wooden flourish button were perfect as a cute centre. The extra leaves I punched also give a nice extra texture too.

A close up of the stamps I used in my background. I think these will become a favourite as I just love the design of them.

I hope you have enjoyed my project today and it inspires you in your own scrapbooking. Don’t forget to join the Kaisercraft Facebook group HERE to share your work and find lots more inspiration.

‘Havana Nights’ ~ A layout by Kylie.

January 8, 2018

Happy New Year everyone! Today I am sharing a layout I have created with the new Havana Nights collection. This collection has a Summery vibe with fun splashes of colour.

Here is a look at my completed layout……

I have used the specialty die cut page, ‘Bamboo’, and backed some of the slots with paper from the paper pad.

I used plain white card stock as my base paper as I really wanted the specialty paper to stand out. I adhered it to the base paper with foam tape and dots to give it a raised appearance.

I have used the lovely greenery sticker from the sticker sheet as a border down the left side of my page. (To tell the truth I actually used two but it would still look fine with only one, I just wanted extra leaves!) I also used two of the smaller floral design sticker borders too.I think it gave a nice dimension to my layout.

Tucked away under my photo you will see some flowers cut from the Hanami Flowers die.I cut three seperate lots and curved them around, underneath my photo.

as soon as I saw this quote i knew it was perfect for my photo. It was at the base of the ‘Tropic’ paper sheet.I have cut it apart for balance before adding it to my layout.

To finish I added some blooms from the collectables as well as a larger bloom I fussy cut from the ‘Tropic’ paper. I used foam dots on some to raise them to give more dimension.

I hope my layout has given you some inspiration today to create your own unique pieces.

Until next time,

Live with a full heart ~ Rose Avenue Layout Photo Tutorial by Donna Espiritu

October 10, 2017

Hello!  Donna here sharing a scrapbook layout I created using the Rose Avenue collection.

I think this is my favorite from the new collections so far. Primarily because of the florals and pastel colors! I love this combination and there’s a ton of patterns to fussy cut as well. Heaven!

I usually print 2 sizes of photos and since I didn’t want one to go to waste or left unused, I decided to place the photos side by side as I did here with my page. I used a doily to add visual interest.

I did a bit of mixed media to my background first and added some colors using metallique acrylic paints and ink pads.

I mixed different shades of pink and turquoise to achieve the background

I love how the strips of paper looked like after! I used foam tapes to lift the scalloped edges instead of leaving it flat. Then I went into town embellishing the whole page. I love this particular quote (which is in the product strip! So don’t throw those away, you can still use them like I did here!) and I think it matched the mood and angle of my daughter’s photo like she’s facing or looking towards something bright.

Rose Avenue is such a beautiful collection!

Here is a short tutorial I prepared for you.

That’s all from me today. I hope you liked my page!
Enjoy and Happy crafting,

Lilac Whisper Terhi Koskinen

‘Beautiful’ scrapbook layout by Terhi Koskinen

July 12, 2017

Hello Kaisercrafters!

It’s Terhi Koskinen here, happily sharing my long planned scrapbook layout with a massive stitched heart.

The idea came from my social media feeds, as so many talented scrapbookers have found hand stitching really trendy lately. And of course I wanted to try it out! I’m not that clever with needles and if you take a really close look you might find a drop of domething red there too. Tried to cover it with pearls, but things happen when excited and learning new skills.

For this layout I used the beautiful ‘Lilac Whisper’ collection, and as the collection is filled with tender and soft colors and floral patterns, I chose to use this pretty photograph of my two sweethearts posing to me. Beautiful black&white photo goes perfectly with beautiful papers.

Only contrasting part of the layout is the black lines drawn with black marker. Thought it needed something small to give contrast but not much, and this hand drawing made it good.

Now please let me say a huge thank you for Kaisercraft for this amazing and creative year. My crafty life will continue a bit slower for the upcoming fall, but I’m absolutely sure Kaisercraft will be part of it in a way or another in the future too. I’m so grateful for all the opportunities I have had with Kaisercraft, it’s been a huge privilege to work for the kind of supporting company. Thank you Melissa, Kylie and all my team collagues for DT term 2016-2017 <3

Terhi xx
