Spreading the Joy with Bubblegum Hills

April 1, 2011

Hi

Lesley and Kerryn here to show you a couple of different projects using the ever so gorgeous Bubblegum Hills collection. This versatile collection is perfect for any sort of project.

Lesley : Watching my daughter and my mum together brings me as much joy to me as I am sure their relationship brings to each other. I wanted to capture this special relationship with a sweet and happy layout. The Bubblegum Hills collection is perfect for this. The colours of this collection pop on the white background.

Materials Used: Bubblegum Hills Paper Pad (PP839); Rub Ons (RB898), (RB897); PRinted Chipboard (CB124); Alpha Stickers (AS226); Wooden Flourishes Butterflies (FL341); Ink (IP713); Other : date stamp

There is nothing like a card to spread the joy to someone special whether it is a special occasion or just because! This bright and cheery card is very quick to make. I trimmed the spotted patterned paper from the paper pad to fit my card. I then cut out a row of the circles. I applied a rub on the top  of each cut out circle. Using foam tape I placed the circles back into the holes the came from. I tied some string around the card and then attached the best freinds tag which was also from the paper pad.

Kerryn : When I captured my kids having a little groove to some of their favourite songs I wanted to make a little album using the photos.   Alot of the photos were pretty ordinary though, having been taken indoors with the camera flash, so I was a little unsure how I could best showcase them.  I started by printing them as 4×3 black and white photos rather than 4×6 colour photos.  While looking through my Kaisercraft stash I came across the Flip Flops album and remembered the gorgeous Ballet album Leanne made last year.  I had quite a number of photos and they were too large to adhere to each flip flop so I set about creating a different sort of mini album.

I covered my “shoes” with some of my favourite patterned papers from the Bubblegum Hills paper pad.  I did add some stitching before I adhered the polka dot paper to give it a finished look.  The photos became the pages of the album.

I added a couple of journal “pages” to the album as well.

I gathered together a fun cluster of bits and pieces to hang off of the metal chain used to hold the album together.

This is my favourite photo.  It captures both of my kids perfectly “mid groove”.  It makes me smile :).
