Three layouts by Tatiana Yemelyanenko

July 19, 2017

Hello!

Today I can share all my layouts created with this month’s beautiful floral collections. My first layout features Golden Grove collection. For my project I used as a base Die Cut – Orchard and added to it fussy cut elements and collectables.

‘Family is greatest blessing’

Kaisercraft products: P2352 Gold Dahlia | P2357 Soft Moss | PS489 Die Cut – Orchard | CT886 Golden Grove Collectables | FL605 Flourish Pack – Harvest | Pearls – SB791 Pewter, SB794 Pearl | Rhinestones – SB709 Yellow, SB710 Orange, SB776 Bronze | Kaiser Mists – KM101 Charcoal, KM103 Yellow, KM111 White, KM113 Coffee

‘No’

My second project is about my daughter and photography. She doesn’t like to be photographed by me, so it becomes a true challenge to take her photo. That’s why I chose title for my project ‘No’ and the latest photographies illustrated this story. As I have flowers on the photo I decided that vertical flower composition will look good on the layout. For this layout I combined two different background papers and added a lot of fussy cut elements and other embellishments.

Kaisercraft products: Lilac Whisper Paper Collection – P2343 Hydrangea, P2345 Illusion, P2346 Opal, P2350 Echo | PP1023 Paper Pad | SS342 Sticker Sheet | Weave Cardstock – CD 163 Spearmint, CD174 Powder Blue | CT885 Lilac Whisper Collectables | FL604 Flourish Pack – Bouquet | CS304 Clear Stamps | CB151 Chipboard – Lowercase Alpha | IT017 Blossom Mini Template | Pearls – SB718 Bliss, SB785 Lavender | Rhinestones – SB705 Lilac, RS402 Island Lagoon | F659 Mini Paper Blooms – Misty | Kaiser Mists – KM111 White, KM120 Wisteria, KM105 Turquoise | Ink Pad Small – IP732 Orchid, IP727 Lagoon

Other: Sparklets, Border Punch, Embossing powder, Vellum, Gelatos

‘Family’

My third project about family love too, I chose wonderful photo and was inspired by warm colors of Golden Grove collection. For this project like for the previous two I also used a lot of fussy cutting. For the final touches I added splashes and rhinestones (I do it almost for every my project).

Kaisercraft products: P2352 Gold Dahlia | P2353 Greenery | P2358 Sweet Pear | GC106 Bronze Glitter Cardstock | CT886 Golden Grove Collectables | FL605 Flourish Pack – Harvest | Pearls – SB791 Pewter | SB794 Pearl | Rhinestones – SB709 Yellow, SB710 Orange, SB776 Bronze | Kaiser Mists –KM103 Yellow, KM111 White, KM113 Coffee

Hope you will be inspired by this month fabulous collections!

All the best!

Golden Grove, Happy Days and a Farewell

July 18, 2017

Hi everyone, it is sadly my final post as a member of the amazing team here at Kaisercraft. I have had the most amazing experience over the past two years and it wasn’t easy to make the choice to not reapply to be on the team. However with two girls growing up rapidly I need to spend a little less time in the craft room unfortunately. I know I will miss playing with the amazing collections each month however I have seen what is coming up over the next few months and combined with the fabulous new Design Team – you are all in for a wonderful creative time!

For my final post I was so happy to play with the gorgeously bright and beautiful Golden Grove Collection. I adore all of the yellow and gold hues that are teamed with earthy browns and greens. This inspired me to make a happy layout aptly titled ‘Happy Days’!!

‘Happy Days’

Kaisercraft products used: P2352 ‘Gold Dahlia’ | P2353 Greenery’ | P2354 ‘Collated’ | P2357 ‘Soft Moss’ | SS343 Golden Grove Sticker Sheet | CT886 Golden Grove Collectables | CD102 Licorice Weave Cardstock | FL605 Harvest Flourish Pack | KM111 White Kaiser Mist | KM113 Coffee Kaiser Mist | SB700 Silver Rhinestones | ST929 Inspirational Clear Sticker Sheet | T303 Foam Tape

Other: Paperclip

With the gorgeous floral images in this collection a little bit of fussy cutting was a must! I wanted to work with layers and have a multi photo layout as well. To start the layout, I took Soft Moss as my background paper and trimmed approximately 1cm off of each side. I attached this to the centre of the Collated paper. I then randomly flicked White Mist over the page and set it aside to dry:

Take 3 photos and trim them down so they fit comfortable across your page (my photos measured approximately 8.5 x 12cm). Matt your photos using black cardstock. Attach your photos across the middle of your page using foam tape – I placed mine on slight angles.

Using the Gold Dahlia paper, fussy cut an assortment of the floral images. Use Foam Tape to attach these images to the top right hand side of your photos and  to the bottom left hand side.  Take one of the clocks and the white floral image from the Collectables Pack and attach the clock using Foam Tape at the top of the photos and the white flower at the bottom of the photos:

From the Sticker Sheet, remove the lace border, trim it to fit your background paper and then attach it to the top of your page using Foam Tape. Trim the ‘Live, Love, Laugh’ strip from the Greenery paper and attach it using Foam Tape to the bottom of your background paper:

Take some of the leaf sprays and leaves from the Harvest Flourish pack and slip them amongst your fussy cut floral images. From the Collectables Pack take two yellow butterflies, two yellow and brown butterflies, a large leaf and the ‘Happy Days’circle and add them to your floral clusters. Take a quote from the Clear Stickers and add it below your photos. Randomly add a few Silver Rhinestones to add dimension and flow to your page. Finally carefully flick some Coffee Kaiser Mist on your page. Add a paper clip to the far right hand photo and you are finished!

Thank you to Kaisercraft and all of you for the past two fabulous years. I can’t wait to see what the incredibly talented new team have in store for us all!

Happy crafting

Five Tips for Layering Paper with Process Video

July 3, 2017

Do you like layering paper in Layouts but sometimes are not sure where to begin?

Are you interested in some Paper Layering Tips for Scrapbooking?

Today I am demonstrating five tips for Layering paper in a Layout and I am using the sunny and gorgeous Golden Grove Collection.  I have made a Layout with a photo of my Mum and Dad on their Wedding Day.

Five Tips for Layering Paper ~ Kaisercraft Golden Grove Layout by Alicia McNamara

Lets get started!

Layering Paper Tip 1 – Plan the Outline of Your Design

Five Tips for Layering Paper ~ Kaisercraft Golden Grove Layout by Alicia McNamara

For this Layout I chose to make a cross Design behind my photo.  I use the cross design quite a bit because I find it easy to work with.  I drew the cross onto a scrap bit of 12×12 paper to show you what I was thinking in my head.  If you have a basic outline you can shape your layers to work with that outline.  So at the end of the layering part you have something that looks balanced and planned.  Then I chose a background paper, P2354 Collated, because I wanted something quite plain to work with.

I chose the Cherry Blossom Template IT001 to use with Gold Paint and Impasto and I wanted this to pop out from under my layered paper design.  I love this template.  The little blossoms are so pretty.

Layering Paper Tip 2 – Choose Papers with Colours that Work Together

I chose three papers P2335 Canola, P2356 Fallen Leaves and P2358 Sweet Pear to use as my layers and cut them into strips of various sizes. I wanted to focus more on the golden colours from this collection, with just a hint of green, to suit my photograph.  Then I positioned them into a cross pattern and inked them with Saffron Ink.

Layering Paper Tip 3 – Use a Mixture of Mounting Tape and Flat Tape

Once I was happy with the positioning of the paper strips I stuck them down with mounting tape and flat tape.  By using the different type of tapes you can make layers of different depths.

Layering Paper Tip 4 – Fussy Cut some Layers

The papers in this collection are perfect for some fussy cutting and fussy cutting is a great way to layer paper.  I chose the paper P2352 Gold Dahlia to cut two clusters of paper blooms.

Layering Paper Tip 5 – Use Collectables

Collectables are perfect for adding paper layers to your design…sometimes I wish I had five bags of these because I absolutely LOVE collectables.  They make creating such a breeze.  The collectables in this collection are just adorable!  So many beautiful flowers and butterflies.
