Beach Shack Kavitha Tuesday Tutorials

Sea side treasures – Tutorial tuesday post by Kavitha

February 13, 2018

Hello everyone!!

Welcome to “Tutorial tuesday” post.Today i made a altered hoop using the “Beach shack” collection. This collection has some

real life beachy images and textures.

First step is to coat the hoop with two layers of heavy white gesso.Once it dried i colored the hoop

with pigment ink pads in shades of green, teal, brown and black.

I just dabbed the colors directly from the ink padNext  apply crackle paste randomly on some areas with palette knife and allow it

to dry completely.Next i cut out a circle using chipboard and adhered the pattern paper to it.Since i am going to use lots

of mediums it will give some strength. To tone down the background pattern i applied a coat of watered down white gesso.

Next i added two more paper layers, just stick the lower half of the paper, tear the upper half in wavy form

and curl it a bit to resemble waves.I coated the whole thing with a layer of clear gesso.Next i applied modelling paste through ripple stencils and colored it using sprays in shades of blue, green

and brown. Now stick the base to the hoop.So here is my finished project,i went a bit on grungy side to resemble the deep sea treasures.

To create texture on the background i used gauze cloth and some teared down laces. All the chipboard designs

are also colored in the same way as the hoop

I added some shells, art stones in different sizes and sequins to add more texture and shine.

Beach Shack Miss Betty Specialty Papers

5 Creative Projects using Kaisercraft Specialty Papers

February 7, 2018

Are you loving the new February Collections as much as the Design Team is?  February’s Beach Shack and Miss Betty are filled with beautiful papers and designs.  Both these collections feature Kaisercraft Specialty Papers, have you seen them yet?

What is a Kaisercraft Specialty Paper you ask…It is a high-quality, thick, sometimes die-cut paper, sometimes gloss, that is an extra special piece and a highlight of each collection.  Kaisercraft usually makes one or two specialty papers per collection.

Kaisercraft Specialty Papers

In the Miss Betty Collection this month the Kaisercraft Specialty Paper is the very delicate PS517 Embroidered Doily.

In the Beach Shack Collection, there are two Kaisercraft Specialty Papers: PS515 Porthole and PS516 Mosaic – Gloss

The Design Team was asked to create a project featuring one of these Kaisercraft Specialty Papers…you are going to love their inspiration!

Beach Shack Beck Beattie Layouts

A Beachy Wedding by Beck Beattie

February 1, 2018

Hi everyone and welcome to February!  Wow the year is already going quick.  My kids are back at school already and it is like they just left for holidays.  I do miss them when they are at school, but I’m happy to also know they are so happy to be there and enjoy all that school has to offer.  Today I am remembering the past and also something I love… the beach!  So I have created a scrapbook page perfect for all those beachy wedding pictures featuring the new Beach Shack collection.

Kaisercraft Products Used:

Beach Shack Pattern papers: P2470 Board Walk. P2471 Collecting and P2472 Foam

SS356 Beach Shack Sticker Sheet

IP724 Bark ink pad

Other Products:

White Gesso

Blending tool

I love the effects you can get with the wood panelled papers.  I cut Reverse BOARD WALK paper into strips of different lengths and using the blending tool and ink pad I finished each piece to create a little more depth by adding colours around the edges.

Here are some more pictures of my project.

I hope you have enjoyed my share today and a look at the new collection at work.

Happy Crafting!
