Tuesday Tip: Layered Paper Blossom
Welcome to the blog this lovely Tuesday!
Today we have Debbie Marcinkiewicz from our Contributing Design Team sharing a tip with you!
Debbie Says:
“Hello sweet Kaisercraft friends! I’m super excited to share a fun and easy technique with you all to help create gorgeous blooms on your cards and scrapbook pages! I adore adding lots of beautiful flowers to anything I create, and cards are no exception! For today’s project, I am showcasing a card design using the absolutely stunning Bonjour Collection! Enjoy
”
“Live Today” by: Debbie Marcinkiewicz
“With an oval punch, die cut 18 petals from various patterned papers contained in the Bonjour 6 1/2” paper pad.”

“Gather up all other supplies you would like to include on your card. Have fun combing through your treasure baskets in your scrap space … I adore adding bits and bobs of vintage charm to my paper crafted projects! The definition of ‘Vintage Style’ is: “Soft, distressed elements, vintage images and found elements such as buttons, crochet trim, flowers made out of old dress patterns”.

“Adhere a paper doilie to a 4” x 4” piece of patterned paper and then begin layering and gluing the paper petals to the doilie – staggering the ends just like a real flower.”

“After you have the first layer complete with all 9 oval petals glued down, repeat this same step for a second layer – this time you will overlap the petals a bit closer together both around and in the middle to create a smaller petal layer.”

“Finish decorating your card front by adding a snippet of crochet lace attached to a tag with a staple, some rub ons, rhinestones and trinket pins. Ink the edges of a Kraft cardstock base with cream paint and adhere your card front.”

“This card is even more stunning in real life that in pictures. I am completely smitten with the Bonjour Collection … I must admit it is my absolute favourite of all things Kaisercraft to date!”

“I hope you enjoyed my tutorial for this pretty little layered paper blossom! You’ll find that making these flowers can become quite addictive … they are a great ‘TV watching activity’. Now your turn … I hope you give this fun technique a try!”
