Toot Toot

Hi everyone

It’s Toni here to share with you all my Train Frame.

This frame is the perfect match to the Little Toot papers, and it’s great for photos of little boys.

I was lucky enough to get photos of my great nephew meeting his great grandfather for the first time recently. They were perfect to make this frame for my great nephew to treasure as he grows older to remember a very special moment.

One of the great things about this frame is you can set it up exactly how you want, especially the background hill. The large hill can be behind either the carriage, or the engine – it’s your choice.

I started off by painting the train and the track black, and the background hill in olive green. I then sanded all the edges to give a worn look.

The background was covered in Honk while I used pieces of paper from the paper pad to cover the train, inking all of the edges to soften them.

I cut circles of various sizes for the wheels, and used a piece of kraft cardstock to join the wheels and screw brads in the centre. I then used mounting foam to give the wheels dimension.

I used one of the journal tags with a quote in the centre frame, then placed photos either side. I placed the quote on the journal tag before placing it in the frame. Makes it much easier to rub it on that way.

I rubbed the ballon onto a piece of acetate and then glued it to the back side of the carriage, doing the same with the cloud chipboard, placing it so that it looks like smoke coming from the chimney of the train.

I then covered the back of both the engine and the carriage with pattern paper to hide the backs of the photos and to finish it off neatly. I then added rubons and a title to the train.

Once this was done, then I glued both the background and the train onto the tracks, finishing off with a rail crossing sign glued to a skewer trimmed to size.

This is such a fun frame and paper range with so many possibilities.
