“Cherish Frame by Jodi Dolbel”

Products Used: Ornate Frame (SB2102),  These Days Collection – Generation (P796), Tradition (P799), Reunion (P800), History (P801), Collectibles (CT708), Wooden Flourish – Bird Cage (FL302), Crochet Doilie – Cream (EM950), Mini Paper Blooms – Honey (F645), Paper Blooms – Terracotta (F635), Resin Blossoms – Dahlia (EM969), Kaisercolour – Antique White (KC002), Mocha (KC049), Clear Stamp - Prairie Lane (CS742)

Other: Chipboard, Pins, Tulle Ribbon, Embossing Powder, Texture Paste, Mod Podge.

Jodi Says:
“Hint: To get the antique finish on this frame, I painted the frame in Mocha, then covered the frame with a thin layer of Texture Paste.  Before the Texture Paste dries, I used a clear stamp with a larger design and stamped the image into the texture paste. I then painted the frame again in Antique White and shook embossing powder over the top. I used a dry brush to get rid of the excess powder so it just stuck to the stamped image. Then I heated the embossing powder to finish it. I painted a layer of Mod Podge over the top for protection.”

Toni says: “I have to say, unsurprisingly, this is one of my favourite ranges. It’s perfect to create anything to do with heritage. I’ve created this frame to be a centrepiece for the lattice divider in my scrap room. On this wall I’m going to create the family tree from both my side and my husbands side of the family.
I created the marble look on the frame by painting a base coat in white (including all of the gaps), then a coat of the sage green. I then used a crackle medium, and then sponged the top coat on in antique cream. This gives the marble look. Once this was dry, I then stamped the vine image from the Madame Boutique stamp set in gold, and when it was all dry, I then sponged on the gloss varnish. Using a sponge rather than a brush gives the marble effect, and using one with the varnish gives a matt look with no brush strokes.
I’ve also used dimensional magic on the die cut title to give it the look of a gel letter, but also allow it to ‘pop’ from the background.”
