Trudi Says:
“‘Hip Hip Hooray!!’ for the Save The Date collection.  Great for scrapping those happy, joyous celebrations. You can’t help but smile when you create with it .  The colours are bright and happy and the patterns are so much fun.  They were perfect for reflecting the joy of my Missy N jumping for joy at turning 5.”

“Various patterned papers have been layered over a white background to make the colours pop.  Hand cut elements from the patterned papers were used for embellishing.  Die Cut paper rosettes add fun flair.”

Next we have Hetty’s layout…

‘Precious’ Layouts by Hetty Hall

Materials used: Bunting (PS221), Milestone (P951), Hip Hip (P952), Burst (P946), Sticker Sheet (SS146), Collectables (CT721), Rub Ons Girls (RB916), Rub Ons Precious (RB125), Paper Blooms Buttercream (F629), Foam dots (T302).

“I just love how happy and bright this collection is. I used this pensive looking photo of one of my twin girls as the colours just matched perfectly. Also you have got to see the new awesome speciality die cut papers with this collection (featured in the second photo). The bunting is partly cut from the paper. Just pop them up for that 3D’s so easy! I also put some contrasting paper behind it for some added interest.”

A fun start to the week with Sears & Son Layouts…

August 6, 2012

Hello and welome to the blog for another week! Today, Hetty and Trudi are showcasing the Sears & Son Collection.  We have some layouts which will surely inspire you.

First up is Hetty’s layout…

‘Moments Together’ Layout by Hetty Hall

Materials Used: Tailor (P895), Trilby (P896), Bowler Hat (P892), Sidecar (P898), Gentleman (P893), Pocket Watch (P899), Pennyfarthing (FL355), Paper Tags & Shapes (EM925), Mini Paper Blooms (F652).

Other: Twine, thread, staples, ink.

Hetty says:
“This photo is of my husband, his brother and his dad. His dad past away a few years ago and I thought this might be a nice tribute layout for him. I loved doing a masculine layout. It was fun to rough up the edges of the papers a bit! I used a bit of sewing and some staples for that added a vintage look.”

Next we have Trudi’s layout…

‘One of a Kind’ Layout by Trudi Harrison

Kaisercraft Products:
Sears & Son – P892 Bowler Hat, P894 Charming, P896 Trilby, PS129 Icons Specialty Gloss, CS839 Clear Stamps, PP874 Paper Pad, CT720 Collectables
String, Ink – Pinecone, WRMK Punch,  Scallop Border Punch, Die cutting: Doily, Frame

Trudi Says:
“Although this collection is quite masculine and the toning sombre,  it was still well suited for this moment captured of my two girls.  Coincidentally, it would be Father’s Day last year when it was taken.  A touch of flair was added with a decorative die cut created with the ‘Trilby’ patterned paper and a WRMK punch.”

And for today’s final instalment, Trudi’s decorative wall art….

‘Butterfly Silhouette’ Wall Art by Trudi Harrison

Kaisercraft Products: Attitude! PP873 Paper Pad, P885 Rebel; Miss Match SS140 Sticker Sheet; PS175 Acetate/Gypsy PL514 Flourish Classic/ Black;  CS756 Clear Stamp/Grunge, IP719 Small Ink Pad/Black, IP724 Small Ink Pad/Bark; RB905 Rub ons/Journey; RG409 Sparklets/Ebony; SB2171 Butterfly Silhouette Wall Art.

Other: Gesso, Glimmer Mist, Colour Spray, Butterfly Die and Punch

Trudi Says:

“I was inspired by the Attitude collection to create a ‘grunge’ piece of wall art.  I started with the Kaisercraft Butterfly Silhouette Wall Art and first applied Gesso liberally to the top piece.  I wasn’t particularly careful with the application, just really slapped it on.  To add some texture and to ‘rough it up’ a bit, areas were stippled.  Some stamping was added around the edges – I used the grunge stamp for this with bark and black inks.  Glimmer mist and colour spray were then applied over the top.  The silhouette butterfly edges were inked black to add definition.”

“A pearl flourish, acetate accents and a sprinkling of punched butterflies finish it off.”

“Thanks so much for dropping by the Kaisercraft blog today!”
