Beyond the Page

Beyond the Page with Save the Date…

August 10, 2012

Hello again.  Hetty and Trudi have created some super beyond the page projects with the fun Save The Date collection.

First up we have Hetty’s fabulous altered ‘Ribbon Pennant’.  This is also a new August release Beyond The Page project.  I am sure that you will agree that it looks totally awesome altered with the Save The Date collection.

Happy Birthday by Hetty Hall

Materials used: Burst (P946), Streamers (P947), Pinwheel (P948), Invite (P949), Milestone (P951), Hip Hip (P952), Collectables (CT721), Pinwheel Pack (EM987), Sticker Sheet Alpha (SS146), Ribbon Pennant (SB2175), Mounting Foam (T302).

Hetty says:
“I created this banner for my eldest daughter Taylor who will be turning 12 on December 18. Again I used most of the collectables and also created lots of layers by using mounting foam tape.

Next we have Trudi’s super cute altered kite wall art…

‘Kite Wall Art’ by Trudi Harrison

Kaisercraft Products:
Save The Date – P950 Banner, PS222 Pennants Specialty Glitter, PP875 Paper Pad, CT721 Collectables, EM985 Flag Stickers; SB2159 Kite Wall Art; RB915 Rub Ons Boys, FL406 Wooden Flourish Vines

Other: Twine, Ribbon, Die Cutting – Doily, MS Large Border Punch

Trudi says:
“Combining the happy colours of the Save The Date collection with the Kite Wall Art created such a fun, whimsical piece to adorn the wall of my Miss E’s bedroom.  She has a fascination with kites in particular with the ‘how’ and ‘why’ they can stay up like they do.  This was perfect for her.  Elements from the collectables pack were combined with hand cut, punched and die cuts from patterned paper.  Some of the flag stickers were attached over a length of twine to add a little texture.

Beyond the Page NEW Product

Beyond the Page with Sears & Son…

August 10, 2012

We have some great off the page projects for you today.
Hetty has created this wonderful keepsake for the ‘Greatest Dad Ever’!

‘Greatest Dad Ever’ Plaque by Hetty Hall

Materials used: Bowler Hat (P892), Trilby (P896), Tailor (P895), Pocket Watch (P899), Collectables (CT720), Playing Cards (EM984), Sticker Sheet (SS144), Paper Pad (PP874), Long French Plaque ((W045), Raw Umber Paint (KC032), Mounting Foam (T302).

Hetty says: “Sears & Son is such a lovely masculine collection that’s perfect for this project. I wanted to create a father’s day present that the girls could give to their dad on Father’s Day so came up with this plaque he can either hang on the wall or sit on his desk. I really love the matching collectables that come with each collection as they make decorating a breeze.”

Next Trudi shows us the more ‘feminine’ side of the Sears & Son collection with this delightful altered cart.

‘Eliza’s Flowers’ by Trudi Harrison

Kaisercraft Products: Sears & Sons – P892 Bowler Hat, P894 Charming, P895 Tailor, PP874 Paper Pad; SB2190 Small Candy Cart; Paper Blooms – F628 Honey, F632 Sage, F635 Terracotta; Mini Paper Blooms – F647 Iceberg, F649 Sage, F652 Terracotta; Wooden Flourishes – FL326 Lamp Post, FL351 Ornate Clock; CB108 Chipboard Alpha 2; R713Ribbon Rose Mocha; IP722 Small Ink Pad Red Gum

Other: EK Success Border Punch, Scallop Border Punch, Die Cutting – Leaf Flourish, Decorative Frame, Ribbon

Trudi Says:
“A fond childhood memory of mine was going to the matinee session of My Fair Lady with Mum and Nan.  I recall quite well the opening scenes where Eliza was selling her flowers along with other flower selling ladies.  Some carried baskets and some had carts which they pushed along.  It was this recollection which inspired me to create a flower cart with the newly released Beyond the Page product : the Small Candy Cart .  The vintage toning of the  Sons and Sears collection was well suited to the era I was trying to recreate.”

“I did slightly alter the construction of the cart.  By not attaching two of the upper canopy  supports allowed the canopy to sit lower which I preferred the look of and  also provided a set of handles for the cart.”

“Mock windows were created from a decorative frame which was cut from patterned paper.  A little window sill was also created.
A cascading canopy of floral beauty was added with an assortment of Ribbon Roses, Paper Blooms and Mini Paper Blooms.”

Let’s kick off this afternoon with a few designs from Hetty.

Materials Used: Invite (P949), Milestone (P951), Streamers (P947), Burst (P946), Bang (P954), Hip Hip (P952), Pearl Brads (EM930), Pearls (SB713).

Hetty says:
“These cards were so easy to make by using the images on the ‘Bang’ and ‘Hip Hip’ papers and embellishing them with the pinwheels cut from the ‘Burst’ paper, they literally only took half an hour to make, so much fun!”

’30’ Card by Trudi Harrison

Kaisercraft Products: Save The Date – P946 Burst, PP875 Paper Pad, PS22 Pennants Specialty Glitter, EM985 Flag Stickers, CT721 Collectables, SS145 Sticker Sheet Alpha

Other: Cardstock, Embossing Folder, Tooth pick

 Trudi Says:

“The Save The Date collection is perfect for creating fun cards,  especially for the ‘young at heart’.   Here I have combined papers from the paper pad with a few pennants, a collectables sentiment and embossed balloon image.  A little flag was created by attaching a flag sticker to a tooth pick.  A sticker from the ‘Sticker Sheet’ and collectable quote made it quick and easy to add celebratory sentiments. “
