Making minis

September 22, 2010

The “BER” season is here and it means Christmas is just around the corner. So today we are here sharing with you 2 mini albums using the Stocking Garland.

Kerryn : I love the new Kaisercraft Stocking Garland but really lack a suitable place to display it.  When I had another look at it though, I realised it would make a great mini album.  I have taken out one of the stockings so that it wasn’t too thick for the album rings and have only used a cuff on the front and back of the album.

The Be Merry collection was perfect for these photos of my daughter’s first Christmas.

I kept the embellishments to a minimum and have included plenty of journalling.

Mini albums are a great way of capturing those precious memories that enables you to use lots of photos to tell the story.

LG: Like Kerryn, I thought that the Stocking Garland would make a perfect Mini Album for some photos that my family took last Christmas. Our christmas color theme was almost the same colour as the ‘Tis the Season line so I decided to work with that.

I just love the vintage feel of the ‘Tis the Season collection. I added a lot of crackle paint on this project to add texture.

Here are the inside pages of my mini album:

Its Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas!

September 17, 2010

Well, it is at my house anyway! With all of the gorgeous Home Decor projects released by Kaiser this month, I found it impossible not to jump right on in and start creating Christmas decorations! I am going to feel organised when December rolls around this year (well, for a brief moment anyway LOL)!

Other: Crackle paint, trim, ribbon, alphas, ink.

The alphas used on this project were some super old plastic coated letters found buried deep in my stash.  A quick sand, and some Kasiercraft Metallic Gold paint gave them a lovely soft vintage Christmas look that suited the gorgeous rich colours of the Tis The Season range perfectly!

I can’t wait to hang this on my wall for Christmas!

Leanne has also created some wall art using the  “Tis the Season” collection.

“Merry Xmas” canvas – by Leanne Allinson: Tis the Season collection – sleigh (rev, p566); 6″ paper pad (pp830); specialty paper – reindeer (ps116); mini alphas – cream (ma505); alpha stickers – brown (as225); alpha chipboard #2 (cb108); tiny alphas – chocolate (ma512); grosgrain ribbon – natural (ri612); pearl strip – chocolate (pl504); dress up doll (sb2085); paint – antique white (kc002); ink – forest (ip718), black (ip707); foam tape (t303).  Other – canvas; embroidery thread; staples; chipboard heart.

She started off by using the 6″ paper pad to create a patchwork feel to the background and added a dress up doll to create a Christmas Angel.  The angel has been left relatively plain and unadorned, so it will stand out from the patchwork.

The banner is made from the specialty paper and makes a nice place to add the title.

Some More Christmas in September!

September 15, 2010

The Creative Team are all having so much fun playing with our gorgeous Christmas goodies well ahead of the ‘silly season’! We hope you are managing to get out your supplies – and hopefully some of these gorgeous new KaiserCraft goodies- to scrap your memories of Christmas past :)

Kirsty has used KaiserCraft’s Be Merry range to create this bright, cheery mini album celebrating her first Christmas years, and also as a record of where some of her annual family Christmas traditions originated!

The colours in the Be Merry range are so classically ‘Chrsitmas’ that they mange to suit both Christmas photos taken recently, and these delightfully retro shots from the 1970’s!

The rounded tabs on the Long Tabbed Album (SC2016) perfectly frame the Die Cut Elements in the Be Merry range, and also the little pictures on the Be Merry patterned paper ‘Glee’ (P557) Having cute little cut outs, buttons and flowers on the tabs practically beg the person flipping through your album to turn the page to discover more!

Vicki has used the Be Merry collection to alter the stocking garland from Kaisercraft.

Vicki says: “The Be Merry range is fun.  The papers are so happy and bright that you can’t go wrong with any creations made from this collection.   I have used this collection to create this stocking garland.  Lucky for me that you get five stockings in the pack, which suits our family perfectly.  One stocking has been made for each family member.  I have included a little pocket in the front of them to hide their wish lists for Christmas.  The stockings are all tied together using Kaisercraft’s gorgeous grosgrain ribbon:”

Here are some close up of each of the stockings I made for each member of the family:
