‘Provincial’ and ‘Sail Away’ with Sonia Thomason

November 16, 2015

Hi – Sonia here with the amazing November collections.

Summer time is fast approaching and the new collections ‘Provincial’ and ‘Sail Away’ will get your Summer time mojo happening! They are both gorgeous collections with so much versatility that you won’t be able to stop playing! This month I’ve gone all off the page with my creations. Kaisercraft collections always give you so many options and all  of the matching embellishments make creating both on and off the page easy.

Provencial

Provincial has a shabby chic feel to it with a touch of French flair thrown in! It is a gorgeous collection filled with florals, postmarks and soft vintage inspired colours. I loved the ‘Mail’ paper and thought it ideal for the background of a canvas. This is a 9 x 12 inch canvas and I used a combination of two Decorative Dies to make the bases for all the photos and embellishments which adds wonderful dimension:

‘Love Completely’ a 9 x 12 inch canvas

Kaisercraft products used: P1972 ‘Hedge’ | P1973 ‘Mail’ | PP984 Paper Pad | SS299 Sticker Sheet | CD101 Coconut Weave Cardstock | CT843 Collectables | F627 Coconut Blooms | F630 Iceberg Blooms | DD510 Nesting Frames | DD504 Doilies | PL504 Pearl Strip Chocolate | TM804 Treasures Corners in Silver | TM803 Treasures Bookplates in Silver | ST929 Inspirational Stickers

The Kaisercraft Treasures metal Corners create a fabulous corner detail on the canvas:

Layering embellishments with foam tape in between adds great dimension to your projects:

Adding a little ink along the edges of your paper helps it stand out from the paper behind it and adds to the vintage feel:

The Paper Blooms in Iceberg co-ordinate fabulously with the Provincial collection:

As Provincial is such a gorgeous vintage inspired collection I made some tags (I am just a little addicted to creating tags!!!)

‘Moments’ a trio of vintage inspired Gift Tags

Kaisercraft products used: P1972 ‘Hedge’ | P1974 ‘Hampton’ | P1979 ‘Willow’ | PP984 Paper Pack | SS299 Sticker Sheet | CD651 Kraft Cardstock | CS243 Clear Stamps | CT843 Collectables | DD518 Nesting Tags | F627 Coconut Bloom | F637 Aubergine Bloom | F630 Iceberg Bloom

The soft blue in the Provincial collection is so beautiful. I paired it with white cardstock and a pop of navy blue to make a card for a special friend:

‘Special Friend’ card

Kaisercraft products used:  P1976 ‘Toile’ | P1979 ‘Willow’ | PP984 Paper Pad CD101 Coconut Weave cardstock | DD724 Hearts Cardfront

The Hearts Cardfront Die cuts all the hearts for you. I have bent them up a little and attached through the centre with glue:

Ready for some more amazing new collections?
Sail away

The second collection for November is Sail Away which is perfect for all of those beach and water themed photos that will be ready for scrapping as the weather heats up! This gorgeous collections is in tones of blue and red with wonderful nautical inspired images. It makes you want to hope on a boat and sail off into the wild blue yonder :)

‘Bon Voyage’ Pennant Banner

Kaisercraft products used: P1982 ‘Anchor’ | P1987 ‘Cruise’ | P1983 ‘Nautical’ | P1985 ‘Rope’ | CT844 Collectables | CD101 Coconut Weave Cardstock | SS300 Sticker Sheet | SB2106 Pennant Banner

Different elements of the collection have been layered to create dimension on each pennant:

The blue and red are so fresh and crisp together:

Part of the Beyond the page releases for this month is the Captain’s Wheel. This is just perfect for the Sail Away collection!

‘Adventure’ a beyond the page project

Kaisercraft Products used: P1981 ‘Compass’ | P1984 ‘Lighthouse’ | PP985 Paper Pad | CT844 Collectables | SB2389 Wall Art Captain’s Wheel | F627 Coconut Blooms | ST915 Butterflies clear stickers | TM811 Treasures Silver Knobs

Other: Navy flower and string

I placed the Metal Treasures Silver Knobs around the wheel and hot glue gunned some thick string between each of the knobs.

There are so many possibilities for creating with these two gorgeous collections which are available from your local Kaisercraft stockist now.

Friday’s are fantastic… with Alison Bevis

November 13, 2015

I wont mention the date if you don’t….

But I will mention how Fantastic these TWO collections released this month are!!

With the Red, White and Navy of

188

All of the Nautical imagery of ships, fancy knots and Anchors… it was perfect to create a layout for this photo from a few years ago – from fussy cutting the ship, to the rope paper which matched the seats to ‘recycling’ the red heart… makes me smile!

“Dreamworld” Layout by Alison Bevis

Kaisercraft Products – P1986 Starfish | P1983 Nautical | CT844 Collectables | SS300 Sticker Sheet

Did you see that big red heart – keep scrolling and you will see where I’ve recycled it from..

I always like a little challenge, so when I saw all the RED nautical images in the collectables I figured I could layer them into a triangular shape to represent a Christmas Tree – I have someone in mind for this card!

The Red Heart was cut from the paper after adhering to the front of the heart… bit of a bonus, I thought! So, I chose this photo from a Family Wedding to incorporate into the heart… hope the happy couple will like this one?

And then the delicate beauty of

By covering each plank in a different pattern, and choosing all the ‘blues’ it has made this Wall Art neutral but girly… a great gift!! I even used the Embossing folder and stamped with it into the modelling paste (be sure to wash any paste out from the grooves before it dries!!)

Other – Derivan Modelling paste.

I really liked the navy blue accents of this collection, and although there is quite a few feminine papers, I thought by choosing the darker prints I would have a good base of a card for a man. I think the touch of torn cork sheet adds to the masculinity.

Green is one of my most favourite colours, so it was easy to pick them all out and match them with the whites for this photo of my Grandparents.

Sailing Into Summer With Cathy Cafun

November 11, 2015

Hi Everyone,

Cathy here today to share my projects created with the 2 gorgeous New Release collections Provincial and Sail Away.

I adored working with both of these collections… Provincial which is the perfect range for me with its soft and dreamy shabby style mixed with beautiful rustic themed papers… the best of both worlds!!  Then you have the beautiful nautical styled Sail Away collection, just in time for Summer!!

“You Are Beautiful” Layout by Cathy Cafun

For those of you who are familiar with my work, you would know that I am in my element when it comes to creating with pretty feminine papers, so I was thrilled to see this range in my DT parcel.  This range has a lovely old world rustic feel in pretty blues and greens with gorgeous florals, foliage and vintage elements.

P Beautiful LO

I have pulled out my scissors to create this layout as the floral accents are perfect for fussy cutting.  I also used the large flower cluster on the sticker sheet and leafy collectables to frame my photo.  How yummy is that cobblestone paper, again my scissors were drawn to fussy cut sections of this pp to create a couple of  border strips.

The Sail Away Collection, with its nautical theme has a masculine feel to it, which is great for those of you who struggle to find pp’s to scrap photos of the men/boys in your life, but this range also works just as well for feminine layouts.  Here, I have created one of each, to show you how versatile this collection is.

“Explore” Layout by Cathy Cafun

Went through some of my old pics from our beach holidays and came across these photos of Brittany playing in the sand at Mudjimba Beach… a perfect match for these papers… don’t you think!!

SA Explore LO

I have used the newly released Nautical Quarters Template on my background by masking the compass with modelling paste and outlining with a blue fineliner pen.  To make the making pop I spritzed with water, then applied some red Kaisermist with a brush.  Once dry, I randomly stamped  around the masking with the Tiny Dot Texture Stamp.

SA Explore LO cl1

Another new release this month are a range of gorgeous dies to accent both ranges.  On this page I have used the Anchors Decorative Die which comes with 2 cute anchors dangling on chains.  I cut it in navy pp to become part of my cluster underneath my photos.

Kaisercraft Product: Sail Away – Paper – P1980 Ship, P1982 Anchor, P1986 Starfish, P1987 Cruise | PP985 6.5” Paper Pad | CT844 Collectables | SS300 12×12 Sticker Sheet | DD341 Decorative Die – Anchors | T627 Template – Nautical Quarters | KM109 Kaisermist – Red | Wooden Flourishes FL543 –  Fancy Borders, FL419 Compass | T331 Sanding Block | T303 Foam Tape | Other Product:  DM-1MM2M32 Derivan Matisse Light Modelling Paste, archival ink

 “Adventure” Layout by Cathy Cafun

Another very old photo, this time of Luke aged 3 at Caloundra Beach… omg isn’t he so cute with his little spade, and again how perfect do the colours match this paper range… I’m on a roll!!

SA Adventure LO

I love using embossing folders to create texture on my layouts and have used the new Anchors Embossing Folder to frame the left-hand side of my photo.  I have always used sandpaper to grunge up and distress my layouts an  I think I have mentioned before, that I adore the new sanding blocks and this tool has now become a firm favourite.  I love sanding back pp’s to reveal the core white colour to add contrast and dimension and have sanded back the embossed anchors to make them pop.  I also like sanding the edges of my collectables and diecuts, to add a little dimension to my elements.

“Anchors Away” Card by Cathy Cafun

This card was created using matching Paper Pad and the new C6 Anchors Decorative Die.  I cut the die in smooth white cardstock for the background then cut in navy paper from the Paper Pad, to add the contrast anchors. I also used the new Anchors Decorative Die which I cut out in cork to add a bit of texture.

November 6, 2015

We are in heading towards the winter in Europe. These months papers  brings back the good memories of the summer. The collections are super for all those summer layouts and cards. The first collection – Provincial – is all about soft colours with stone walls, leafs, flowers and clock faces. The second collection is called Sail Away, and is a maritime collection in white, blue and red.

I created a layout with the Provincial collection.

The card is a Peek A Boo card. The image inside the window flips and changes for another image when you open the card.
