Pretty Florals with High Tea

April 25, 2017

Hi everyone, Sonia here with the gorgeous new collection for April – High Tea. This collection will make anyone who loves shabby chic very happy indeed! It is a collection that has a beautiful white-washed colour palette with stunning floral images. The colours and softness of the images make it so easy to use for many occasions. I loved the floral images and the soft pinks / reds and immediately wanted to use some baby pictures of my daughter with a floral crown on her head.

‘Cherish the little things’

Kaisercraft products used: P2277 ‘Devonshire’ | P2278  ‘Biscuit’ | P2284 ‘Cup & Saucer’ | CT879 High Tea Collectables | SS336 High Tea Sticker Sheet | CD651 Kraft Cardstock | CB153 Corrugated Cardstock | KM111 White Kaiser Mist | F633 Olive Paper Blooms | F641 Dusty Pink Paper Blooms | F650 Olive Mini Blooms | ST928 Clear Stickers Life | SB700 Silver Rhinestones | DD518 Nesting Tags Decorative Die | LDB1059 Natural Twine |

Other: Crystal Sparklet, Grommet for tag and White Gesso

I choose the gorgeous ‘Cup & Saucer’ (P2284) as my main background as it already has the most stunning, distressed look to it. I wanted to add a little more texture so I tore vertically down the paper between the white and green distressed parts and added in a strip of the Corrugated Cardstock (CB153)

To add extra dimension I also added in the stunning floral strip from the High Tea Sticker Sheet (SS336). The floral image can be used as one whole piece as I have here, or you can trim it to suit your page. By layering in these different textures you have a page that you just want to touch!

With this gorgeous paper I just had to use some of the Paper Blooms! The Olive and Dusty Pink Paper Blooms picked up the colour palette of High Tea perfectly! I fussy cut some of the Floral images from the ‘Devonshire’ paper (P2277) and mixed these in with the Paper Blooms

One of my favourite Dies is the Nesting Tag Die (DD518). For this layout I cut out a tag using the Die and the ‘Biscuit’ paper (P2278) and added a grommet and some Natural Twine (LDB1059)

One of my other favourite Kaisercraft products are the Clear Stickers. These are so versatile and if you love mixed media then you’ll be happy to know that they can be stuck over the top of all sorts of layers of mediums!!! Here I have used a quote from the ‘Life’ pack (ST928). These stickers can be trimmed to fit or mixed and matched to suit your project

I hope you love the High Tea collection as much as I do – it makes my shabby chic heart so happy to play with these fabulous papers and matching embellishments!

Happy scrapping

You are Beautiful with Hanami Garden

February 6, 2017

When I first saw the gorgeous new Hanami Garden Collection I couldn’t wait to get started! The colours are rich and vibrant with so many beautiful images that can be used alone or will make those of you who love to fussy cut, very happy! I normally use lighter or more vintage backgrounds but I totally fell in love with the striking black, red and gold of the ‘Tsuki’ paper and the stunning birds on the ‘Sora’ paper and just had to play

I can definitely hear all of you fussy cutters loving those birds and beautiful images – so many creative possibilities!

‘You are Beautiful’

Kaisercraft products used: P2251 ‘Tsuki’ | P2253 ‘Mokuren’ | P2257 ‘Sora’ | CT875 Hanami Garden Collectables | FL305 Wooden Flourishes Frames | KM111 Kaiser Mist White |  RS404 Rhinestones Champagne | F628 Honey Paper Blooms | F664 Fire Red Paper Blooms | F645 Honey Mini Paper Blooms | MA501 Alpha Stickers Mini Black and White |

Other: Gold embossing powder

The birds have been fussy cut from the ‘Sora’ paper (P2257). The touches of red and gold on the birds really pop against the black background. The ‘Beautiful’ title is from the wonderful Collectables pack and has been adhered using foam tape:

Using the floral images from the ‘Mokuren’ paper (P2253) and then layering them with assorted blooms and Collectables, adds gorgeous movement and dimension to the page:

The wooden frame was heat embossed in an aged gold which helps highlight the beautiful rich colours of the papers:

A flick over the page with some Kaiser Mist in White just helps bring all of the elements together and adds a bit of movement and interest on the page.

I hope you enjoy creating with the stunning new Hanami Garden collection

A Frosted Christmas

September 7, 2016

Hi everyone, Sonia here with the absolutely amazing ‘Frosted’ Collection! The colour palette in this collection will have you reaching for your Christmas photos in no time at all with the beautiful silvery blues, greys and white.

When I opened this collection, there was one of the patterned papers that just leapt out at me – it was so different and so beautiful! I can imagine all sorts of uses for the ‘Blizzard’ Foil and Die Cut paper (PS464). The detail and depth to the image on this paper is simply stunning!

PS464 ‘Blizzard Foil & Die Cut’

‘Merry Christmas’

Kaisercraft products used: P2166 ‘Arctic’ | PS464 ‘Blizzard’ | FL584 Flourish Pack Snowflakes | SB2115 10″ Frame | PT226 Steel Glitter Tape | GC103 Platinum Glitter Cardstock | DD735 Uppercase Alphabet Die | ST920 Clear Stickers Merry Christmas | ST921 Clear Stickers Seasons Greetings | SB700 Silver Rhinestones | F636 Ruby Paper Blooms | F653 Ruby Mini Blooms | F630 Iceberg Paper Blooms | EM995 Paper Leaves

Other: Diamond Dust, Silver Embossing Powder | Florists Wire, Berries

I wanted to hang this on my wall so I felt I needed to add some depth to the frame. First I took the 10″ Frame and inserted the ‘Arctic’ paper. Then I edged the frame with the Steel Glitter Tape – Christmas projects always needs a bit of sparkle!!!

SB2115 10″ Frame

Next I cut out the centre piece of the ‘Blizzard’ paper and then edged the inside with some of the Steel Glitter Tape to help blend my pieces together:

Then it was a matter of having some fun and embellish away!

I used the gorgeous Glitter Cardstock in Platinum with the Uppercase Alphabet Die to cut out the title:

The Flourish Pack Snowflakes add dimension and sparkle when heat embossed in silver and some Silver Rhinestones added:

Hopefully you are feeling a little bit of that Christmas magic and are in the mood to either get ahead on your Christmas creating or maybe just catch up on last years photos!

Happy creating!

Playing in the Barber Shoppe!

August 1, 2016

Hi everyone, Sonia here with one of the amazing August Collections – Barber Shoppe! This week the Design Team is also focusing on Templates so it was time for me to get out the Texture Paste and KaiserMists and get playing.

barber shoppe

Barber Shoppe is a gorgeous, masculine collection of muted blues and greens with dark highlights and delightful vintage imagery. However, I wanted to show this collection can be used for the girls in your life as well as the boys!

‘Be Authentic, Love Life’

Kaisercraft products used:  P2134 ‘Razor’ | P2135 ‘Scissors’ | P2137 ‘Comb’ | CT861 Barber Shoppe Collectables | CD101 Coconut Weave Cardstock | IT914 Designer Template ‘Grunge’ | FL580 Flourish Pack Cogs | DD732 Interlock Circles Die | DD500 Script Words Die | F637 Coconut Paper Blooms | F631 Sea Breeze Paper Blooms | F654 Aubergine Mini Blooms | KM101 Charcoal KaiserMist | KM105 Turquoise KaiserMist | KM106 Denim KaiserMist | KM111 White KaiserMist | KM113 Coffee KaiserMist | ST925 Family Clear Stickers | CS162 Texture Stamp ‘Stains’ | CS257 Background Script Stamp | EM428 Kraft Tag Pack | EM406 Natural String | TM802 Printed Tape ‘Black’ | SB700 Silver Rhinestones

Other: Gesso, Texture Paste, Silver Foil and Embossing Powder

The Grunge Template has four fantastic patterns for you to play with – I used the circles and lines parts of the template to give fabulous dimension to my page:

Once I’d put down my base papers, I used the ‘Grunge’ Template and randomly added Texture Paste to my page:

Aug templates

Once the texture paste was dry, I sprayed the surface with KaiserMists in Turquoise (KM105) and Denim (KM106). Then I flicked the Turquoise, Charcoal (KM101), White (KM111) and Coffee (KM113) over the page. The mists highlight the gorgeous patterns that the template and texture paste have added to the base papers:

Once the background was completed, I added my photo and embellishments to finish the page.

The new Flourish Pack (FL580) is full of fabulously shaped cogs.  I heat embossed them using an aged silver embossing powder and then added them to the layout:

Finally add some gorgeous Kaisercraft paper blooms and rhinestones to add a ‘girly’ touch to your project:

I hope you enjoy playing with the new August collections and embellishments from Kaisercraft. Happy crafting!
