True Romance with the Michelle’s.

June 14, 2013

Gulp … have to say this collection is beyond gorgeous.  Honestly it truly is! This collection is dreamy.  Think teals, pinks, greens and a little burgundy … ooh-la-la and aptly named “True Romance”.

Easel card by Michelle Frisby

Happiness by Michelle Frisby

Kaisercraft Materials used : P1213 Day Dream, P1212 Adore, FL439 wooden flourishes – flourish hearts, CT760 collectables, PP906 paper pad

Extras :  book, muslin, flowers, modelling paste, paint, strings of pearls, punch, gesso, mini tags, doilies.

Michelle says: “ I’ve played and played with paint, gesso, modelling paste and the papers in the True Romance collection to get this final product.  Ages ago I found some lidded books at our local Spotlight and I saved them for a rainy day and just the right collection … well the rainy day has been and the right collection was True Romance.  I wanted to make something special for a very cute couple who will be celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary next month.  The mini album fits nice and snug in the book and the idea is to have this gift sitting on their shelf at home. Hopefully it will be a special keepsake for them treasure for many years to come.”

Saturday Sketches

Saturday Sketch May#1

May 4, 2013

We have a great Saturday Sketch for you this week and two exciting interpretations.

For those who haven’t played along before, here are the rules..

The rules: Each Saturday every month a new sketch and inspirational layouts will be posted here on the blog. From these 3-5 sketches (depending on how many Saturday’s there are), you have that many chances to create a layout of your own and upload it to any gallery of your choice, or in a blog post. Once done, link your layout into the comments section of the appropriate sketch blog post and you’re entry is complete! Find FULL terms and conditions here.

The deadline: Comments with linked layout entries for each monthly sketch challenge will close on the last day of that month at 11.59 (Australian Eastern Standard Time UTC +10/Daylight Savings Time UTC +11)

The prize: 1st PLACE: One of Kaisercraft’s new collections (valued at approximately $80). 2nd PLACE: A Kaisercraft scrap pack (including new products) valued at approximately $50. Winners will be announced at the beginning of June

Here is the sketch based on Dani Krivan Layout in the May Workshop magazine.

Here is the layout

Here we have Adriana Bolzon with their creations based on this sketch….

“Laugh & Live” by Adriana Bolzon

Kaisercraft Materials Used: P1161 Champagne, SS184 Sticker sheet, CT756 Collectables, PP902 Paper pad, P11158 Musk, P1157 Wall flower, RS810 “J” rhinestone silver, Fl481 Live, Laugh flourishes.

Extra:  Brown ink, twine, foam tape, doubled sided tape.

Adriana says, “It’s my turn on Saturday’s sketch today, I created the layout using the “Porcelain Rose” Paper collection.  This sketch was a great inspirational one, using the idea of three photos on the side. I turned the sketch around and instead of journaling strips of paper on the page, I made them into fish tail banners. I really love all the collectables in this range, great flowers, frames and birds. Sketches are great tools for scrappers, you don’t have to use all the elements or use them in different ways. Hope you find time to join in and create – Happy Crafting everyone”.
