Beyond the Page with Magnolia Grove…

June 1, 2012

Welcome to Friday!  It is Svetlana and Vicki here to share some inspiring projects using the Magnolia Grove collection

 *********

Vicki says:

“The Square Ornate frame from Kaisercraft was just the perfect fit for this family photo.  After layering the background with Magnolia Grove papers I had room to embellish the frame without covering the photo.”

“Love” Frame by Vicki Morris

Materials used: Kaisercraft – Square Ornate Frame, Kaisercraft – Magnolia Grove – Posh, Kaisercraft – Magnolia Grove – Paper Pad, Kaisercraft – Magnolia Grove – Collectables, Kaisercolour – Antique White, Kaisercraft – Paper Blooms – Dusty Pink and Buttercream, Kaisercraft – Rhinestones & Flourishes, Misc Embossing Powder, Stencils, Metallic Rub ons, Inks, Flowers and Leaves.

“Once I had painted the frame I then used modelling paste, stencils, embossing powder and glitter to age the frame.”

“Placing a flourish of flowers on two of the corners added to the frame. I used Kaisercraft’s paper blooms in Dusty Pink and Buttercream which team well with the Magnolia Grove papers.”

Svetlana says:

“I decorated this writing desk to use it as a pretty keepsake box for all the beautiful hand-made cards I receive from my crafty friends. I had a lot of fun layering and cluttering all the papers and embellishments to achieve the desirable result. I used glimmer mist to unite all the elements together but then I added a few “clean” pieces for some contrast and interest. Honestly, I am very pleased to have this pretty thing on the table in my craft room:-)”

Cards with Magnolia Grove

May 30, 2012

Welcome to Wednesday and some card inspiration from Svetlana and Vicki!

*********

Vicki says “I have made use of one of the many quotes on the “Magnolia Grove” papers for this card.  I used the front of the card as a frame to border the quote which is inside the card.  The card is complete when teamed with Kaisercrafts mini paper blooms, pearl strips and an altered “funky butterfly” from Kaisercraft’s wooden flourishes.

“Motherhood” Card by Svetlana Austin

Other: card stock, resin cameo, hand stitching, glimmer mist, ink.

Svetlana says:

“The month of May is marked by a very special celebration of Mother’s Day. I was inspired to create a card that I can give to my own Mom or to my mother-in-law on this occasion. But this card can also be used as a little gift to show my love for my mother at any other time.

For my card, I combined some paper and embellishments from the lovely Magnolia Grove collection with the new Timeless paper.  I just love the vintage post cards on the backside of the Butterflies paper! I think it is perfect for creating some romantic cards with a vintage touch.”

Svetlana says:

“I like the contrast in the Magnolia Grove collection. Here you can get soft and romantic floral designs, cold and elegant grey tones and then suddenly you discover the brightens of red! All of that makes this collection perfect for totally different projects. On my layout I decided to combine all the moods of the collection.

I made a layout using a photograph of my brother and me. It makes me sad that we live so far from each other – he is in Russia and I am in South Africa. So, this layout is about me missing him…”
