Beautiful – Layout and Video Tutorial by Rikki Graziani

June 19, 2017

Good Morning how are you all? Rikki here today with my monthly share and a video tutorial as well, using the stunning new Kaisercraft Daydreamer.

Today I am sharing a little bit of mixed media focusing on using your stamps, if your anything like me I have a lot of stamps but always forget to use them in my layouts.

Kaisercraft Products: Daydreamer Collection: SS341 Sticker Sheet | PP1022 Paper Pad | CS303 Clear Stamps | CT884 Collectables | KM111 White | KM107 Peach |EF267 Moon & Stars Embossing Folder |IT016 Speckles Mini Template |CS161 Honeycomb Texture Stamp | CS292 Fading Dots Texture Stamp | CS878 Sketchy Texture Stamp | CS753 Bubble Texture Stamp |CS150 Triangles Texture Stamp | Other: Stanzon Ink |Heidi Swapp Ink | White Cardstock| Texture Paste

The Kasiercraft Daydreamer CS303 Clear Stamps have the best tiny words- you can separate them for individual use or keep them together like I have done to work them into your background.

Dont be afraid to mix and match your texture stamps !!! I dont mount them to an acrylic block as I want them not to be a perfect image this allows me to roll the stamp as I add it to the background, leaving an image that can be blended with other stamps.

Dont forget to add Foam tape to your layers and even your CT884 Collectables…..

Heres the video tutorial:

I hope I have inspired you to get your stamps out and get creative with them, remember if you have any questions ask away in the comments below or if you would like to see me do something I would love some suggestion and you never know you might see your suggestion next month!!!

Till next time have a creative day.

Playing in the Barber Shoppe!

August 1, 2016

Hi everyone, Sonia here with one of the amazing August Collections – Barber Shoppe! This week the Design Team is also focusing on Templates so it was time for me to get out the Texture Paste and KaiserMists and get playing.

barber shoppe

Barber Shoppe is a gorgeous, masculine collection of muted blues and greens with dark highlights and delightful vintage imagery. However, I wanted to show this collection can be used for the girls in your life as well as the boys!

‘Be Authentic, Love Life’

Kaisercraft products used:  P2134 ‘Razor’ | P2135 ‘Scissors’ | P2137 ‘Comb’ | CT861 Barber Shoppe Collectables | CD101 Coconut Weave Cardstock | IT914 Designer Template ‘Grunge’ | FL580 Flourish Pack Cogs | DD732 Interlock Circles Die | DD500 Script Words Die | F637 Coconut Paper Blooms | F631 Sea Breeze Paper Blooms | F654 Aubergine Mini Blooms | KM101 Charcoal KaiserMist | KM105 Turquoise KaiserMist | KM106 Denim KaiserMist | KM111 White KaiserMist | KM113 Coffee KaiserMist | ST925 Family Clear Stickers | CS162 Texture Stamp ‘Stains’ | CS257 Background Script Stamp | EM428 Kraft Tag Pack | EM406 Natural String | TM802 Printed Tape ‘Black’ | SB700 Silver Rhinestones

Other: Gesso, Texture Paste, Silver Foil and Embossing Powder

The Grunge Template has four fantastic patterns for you to play with – I used the circles and lines parts of the template to give fabulous dimension to my page:

Once I’d put down my base papers, I used the ‘Grunge’ Template and randomly added Texture Paste to my page:

Aug templates

Once the texture paste was dry, I sprayed the surface with KaiserMists in Turquoise (KM105) and Denim (KM106). Then I flicked the Turquoise, Charcoal (KM101), White (KM111) and Coffee (KM113) over the page. The mists highlight the gorgeous patterns that the template and texture paste have added to the base papers:

Once the background was completed, I added my photo and embellishments to finish the page.

The new Flourish Pack (FL580) is full of fabulously shaped cogs.  I heat embossed them using an aged silver embossing powder and then added them to the layout:

Finally add some gorgeous Kaisercraft paper blooms and rhinestones to add a ‘girly’ touch to your project:

I hope you enjoy playing with the new August collections and embellishments from Kaisercraft. Happy crafting!

Food Memories by Leonie Neal-Dawson

July 11, 2016

Hello and welcome, Leonie Neal-Dawson with you today sharing my take on the two July collections from Kaisercraft.

When I saw the Bon Appetit collection I immediately thought of the many food photo’s I have on my camera roll and that I really should scrapbook them.  I’m sure I’m not alone in this, we take these food photo’s for a reason but I rarely do anything with them.  I found when I looked back at the photo’s they all had memories attached to them.  Where they had been taken, the occasion and people attached to those food memories really deserved a spot in my scrapbook albums.  So, first up I chose some baking photo’s and scrapped this page.

I thought it would be fun to print a photo of the recipe I used to make these chocolate chip biscuits and include it on my scrapbook page.

How cute are the Wood Flourishes with this collection?  I used all the sweet baking icons to make a banner across the top of my photo’s

My second page with the Bon Appetit collection features one of my kids in the kitchen.  As part of a school assignment in year 7 the kids have to plan, prepare and cook a meal at home for their family.  My favourite school assignment ever, I wish they had to do it once a week at least!

The title on my page I hand cut using the Designer Template Uppercase Alpha.

Kaisercrafts’ second release this month is the delightful Mademoiselle collection which features soft, pastel colours and delicate floral and lace patterns.  I created a bit of a patchwork effect on the base of this scrapbook page sewing the edges of the paper.

Finally today I have a page about my daughter and I sharing a snack at one of my favourite cafes for her birthday earlier this year.   I love the pinks and greens in the Mademoiselle collection.  They were a perfect match for this photo documenting another fun food memory.

I created another banner, this time using diecuts from the collectables pack and punchouts from the paper pad.

Thanks for stopping by the Kaisercraft blog today.  I hope you’ve enjoyed my post today and perhaps feel inspired to scrapbook some of your own food memories?!

Happy Crafting, Leonie Neal-Dawson

The Great Escape and Pretty Boho with Belinda Spencer

June 24, 2016

Happy Friyay Kaisercrafters!!

Belinda here today to share some projects with you featuring the gorgeous June collections ‘Just Landed’ and ‘Boho Dreams’.

Let’s get stuck straight in with my ‘Just Landed’ projects.

I absolutely love the colours in this stunning collection especially the charcoal and the lovely grey, blue.

‘Journey’ Layout by Belinda Spencer

KC June - JL - Journey 1

I altered my background paper with some Charcoal Kaisermist (one of my faves!!) and then created my own stencil using the Card Creations Planes Decorative Die. I simply die cut the planes background from a piece of cardstock and then applied texture paste over it using a spatula.

KC June - JL - Journey 4

I also die cut a piece of Midnight Glitter Cardstock to create my own cute plane embellishments.

KC June - JL - Journey 2

There are so many fabulous die cuts in the Collectables that I wanted to add as many as I could to my layout!

Kaisercraft materials: P2102 Subway | P2104 Flight Path | PP998 Paper Pad | CT857 Collectables | FL576 Wooden Flourish Pack Travel | SS314 Sticker Sheet | CD101 Kaisercard Coconut | GC101 Glitter Cardstock Midnight | DD772 Decorative Die Card Creations – Planes – C6 | KM101 Kaisermist Charcoal.

Other: molding paste | date stamp | ink.

‘The Great Escape’ Layout by Belinda Spencer

KC June - JL - The Great Escape 1

For this layout I wanted to use the Polaroids Die Cut Specialty Paper in a different way. I separated the individual polaroids and layered them together behind my photo.

KC June - JL - The Great Escape 2

Kaisercraft materials: P2100 Big City | P2102 Subway | P2103 Sign Posts | PS453 Polaroids Die Cut Specialty Paper | DD772 Decorative Die Card Creations – Planes – C6 | CD101 Kaisercard Coconut.

Other: handmade paper | chipboard.

Next up I have my projects featuring the oh so stunning Boho Dreams collection.

This collection is so pretty with lots of lovely flowers perfect for fussy cutting as well as gorgeous dream catchers which are so popular right now.

‘Picture Perfect’ Layout by Belinda Spencer

KC June - BD - Picture Perfect 1

I was so excited to play with this range as I knew I had the cutest photo of my darling daughter so perfect for this range. She loved her new hat so much back then that she wouldn’t stop posing for me so lucky for me I got to take lots of cute photos!

KC June - BD - Picture Perfect 2

I altered the background on this layout by first applying some stamps from the Clear Stamps set using clear embossing ink. I then heat set with a fine white detail embossing powder. Next I applied Kaisermists in Orange and Red, spritzed with water and blotted away the excess with paper towel.

KC June - BD - Picture Perfect 4

It’s kind of rare for me to use many flowers on a layout but when the Coral Paper Blooms co-ordinate so perfectly, how could I not? :-)

Kaisercraft materials: PP999 Paper Pad | P2109 Wild | P2112 Daydreamer | P2114 Adventurer | P2113 Bohemian | SS315 Sticker Sheet | CT858 Collectables | CS266 Clear Stamps | CD101 Kaisercard Coconut | EM431 Polaroid Cut Outs | F662 Paper Blooms Coral | F667 Mini Paper Blooms Coral | KM108 Kaisermist Orange | KM109 Kaisermist Red.

Other: embossing ink | embossing powder | wire thread.

Next, I thought I would give you a more up close and personal look at my project for the June Challenge.

‘Kaiser Kraft Exchange’ Pocket Letter

KC June Challenge - BD - Pocket Letter 1

I had so much fun creating this pocket letter for my recipient. I hope it has arrived at it’s new home safe and sound. It had a long way to go. All the way to Singapore (hint hint).

KC June Challenge - BD - Pocket Letter 3

KC June Challenge - BD - Pocket Letter 4

KC June Challenge - BD - Pocket Letter 5

How cute is this custom made arrow? I used the arrow from the Icons Decorative Die set and cut it from Champagne Glitter Cardstock. I then fussy cut three feathers from the Boho Dreams Paper Pad and glued them on to the end of the arrow. To finish, I wrapped a little kitchen twine around to hide the ends of the feathers. Easy! Why not try making your own cute little arrows using this collection?

KC June Challenge - BD - Pocket Letter 6

A cute little glassine envelope containing some glitter cardstock die cuts and sequins for my recipient to pretty up her own projects. I have wrapped a length of metallic gold twine around the envelope to be used also.

KC June Challenge - BD - Pocket Letter 7

The Lucky Dip DIY Mini Pegs are a favourite little embellishment of mine. I just love them and they add the cutest touch to pocket letters, project life pockets or cards.

Finally a little good advice. :-)

KC June Challenge - BD - Pocket Letter 8

Kaisercraft materials: PP999 Paper Pad | CT858 Collectables | SS315 Sticker Sheet | PT228 Glitter Tape Mint | GC105 Glitter Cardstock Champagne | LDB1023 Lucky Dip Kraft Gift Envelopes | LDB1052 Lucky Dip DIY Mini Pegs | DD107 Decorative Die Speech Bubbles | DD346 Decorative Die Icons | DD912 Decorative Die and Stamp Dream Big.

Other: twine | sequins.

I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed making this pocket letter and participating in the Kaiser Kraft Exchange. I love the idea of someone being happily surprised when they receive their snail mail. Make sure you keep an eye out for details of the next one! For now I am eagerly awaiting mine to arrive! I hope it arrives soon. The suspense is killing me. LOL

Thankyou so much for stopping by to check out my projects today. I do hope I have managed to inspire you to get busy with your own beautiful creations.

Beyond the Page Design Team Kaiser Mists Tuesday Tutorials

Get ready to take off for June – Tutorial Tuesday

June 7, 2016

Hi, Sonia here with two fabulous new Kaisercraft collections for June – ‘Just Landed’ and ‘Boho Dreams’. With the colder weather here in Australia, Just Landed is an ideal collection to either get you thinking about a trip to somewhere fabulous or scrapping your precious memories from previous travels. Boho Dreams is a beautiful collection that has a carefree feel with gorgeous warm pops of green and apricot. Ideal for warning you up on wintery days!

This week the Design Team are highlighting the new Flourish Pack ‘Travel’ that ties in perfectly with the ‘Just Landed’ collection. These wood flourishes are fun embellishments that are so versatile. For this Tutorial Tuesday I thought I would show some of the different ways these gorgeous embellishments can be coloured. Of course they are ideal to use in their natural state but there’s nothing like a little bit of fun getting messy with some colouring time!

Flourish Pack ‘Travel’ (FL576)

How cute are these wood flourishes? So in case you need a bit of colour, I have used 5 ways to colour my ‘Travel’ pieces today – Ink, Glitter, Heat Embossing, Misting and Painting:

Wood Flourishes – Inking

Kaisercraft products used: P2098 ‘World Map’ | FL576 Flourish Pack ‘Travel’ | IP719 Black Ink | IP727 Lagoon Ink | IP728 Saffron Ink | IP733 Green Ink | IP734 Red Ink | KC001 White Paint

Inking is so easy and dries quickly. One thing to remember is that the wood flourishes are porous so they ‘soak up’ colour. In the image above, the top row have been painted with white paint to prime them before inking. As you can see the colour can be quite different to the pieces in the second row where the ink has been applied to the raw wood

Wood Flourishes – Glitter

Kaisercraft products used: P2098 ‘World Map’ | FL576 Flourish Pack ‘Travel’ | IP719 Black Ink | IP727 Lagoon Ink | IP728 Saffron Ink |  IP734 Red Ink | KC001 White Paint

Other: Glitter

First I inked the Wood Flourishes and once the ink was dry, covered the surface with clear liquid adhesive and then sprinkled with glitter – fun but very messy! The white pieces were painted with white paint first rather than inked. Now you have a fun and sparkly embellishment for your projects!

Wood Flourishes – Mists

Kaisercraft products used: P2098 ‘World Map’ | FL576 Flourish Pack ‘Travel’ | KM101 Charcoal Mist | KM103 Yellow Mist | KM104 Lime Green Mist | KM105 Turquiose Mist | KM109 Red Mist | KC001 White Paint

The top row was painted white before misting so you could see the different colour effects you can get depending on your base colour. The bottom row is the wood flourishes used in their natural state. When using your mist don’t forget to swirl it around in the bottle first as all that fabulous sparkle settles to the bottom of the bottle when the bottles are not in use.

Wood Flourishes – Paint

Kaisercraft products used: P2098 ‘World Map’ | FL576 Flourish Pack ‘Travel’ | KC001 White Paint | KC010 Hot Pink Paint | KC021 Turquoise Paint | KC042 Tropical Water Paint | KC046 Olive Paint

Kaisercolour acrylic paint comes in 48 amazing colours so I’m sure you’ll find just the right shade you were looking for that is perfect for your project! I put two light coats on the pieces to build up the depth of the colour

Wood Flourishes – Heat Embossing

Kaisercraft products used: P2098 ‘World Map’ | FL576 Flourish Pack ‘Travel’

Other: Embossing Powder

Heat embossing is my go to technique when I want a metallic finish. Embossing powders are available in various colours and are easy to use – just make sure you have a heat-resistant mat under your pieces before you hit them with your heat gun!

So, as you can see – one box of embellishments = endless choice for creating! You’ll never be stuck for that embellishment in ‘just the right colour’ again!

Now not only do you get fabulous embellishments inside the pack, don’t forget to check out the pack itself! I just love the cute wooden box that the flourishes come in. I sprayed the empty box with Charcoal Mist and then had fun with the flourishes that I had just coloured!

‘Adventure Awaits’ Flourish Box

P2098 ‘World Map’ | PP998 Paper Pad | SS314 Sticker Sheet | FL576 Flourish Pack ‘Travel’ | IP719 Black Ink | IP733 Green Ink | | KC001 White Paint | KC021 Turquoise Paint | KM101 Charcoal Mist | KM103 Yellow Mist | SB709 Yellow Rhinestones

Other: Embossing Powder

The new Boho Dreams collections is so beautiful! The soft greens and apricots are so pretty with gorgeous imagery that will get the creative juices going! My absolutely favourite image is the sketched image of a young girl – so this had to go on the front of a journal!

‘Always be different’ Journal Cover

Kaisercraft products used: Boho Dreams Collection | CD101 Coconut Weave Cardstock | KM106 Denim Mist | KM107 Peach Mist | KM111 White Mist | CS257 Script Background Stamp | CS162 Stains Stamp | CS154 Film Edges Stamp | IT904 Fading Dots Template | DD547 Circle Vines Die | DD350 Ornate Charm Die | DD754 Dream Catcher Die | SB700 Silver Rhinestones

Aren’t the colours so soft and pretty? The Denim Mist (KM106) and Peach Mist (KM107) go perfectly with this collection:

The beautiful colours of this collection worked perfectly to highlight two of my favourite photos of my oldest daughter so I added a journal page as well.

‘Be fabulous today’ Journal Page

Kaisercraft products used: Boho Dreams Collection | Em422 Kraft Journal | CD101 Coconut Weave Cardstock | DD557 Foliage Flourish Die | ST919 Script Words Clear Stickers | ST925 Family Clear Stickers

So I hope you are feeling the creative urge after seeing these two new collections! Whether you are a cardmaker, scrapbooker or love off the page, there is something for everyone. Happy creating!
