Soft & Pretty with The Lakehouse..

June 8, 2012

Good afternoon, Toni, Jodi and Genevieve here again sharing some soft and pretty projects using The Lakehouse collection.

‘Wishing Well’ by Toni Crane

Products used: Kaisercraft Mini Wishing Well (SB2164), The Lakehouse Paper Pad (PP871), the Lakehouse Getaway (P868), The Lakehouse Clear Stamps (CS824), The Lakehouse Collectables (CT717), Kaisercraft Chipboard Alpha #1 (CB107), Paper Blooms Misty (F642), Coconut (F627), Mini Paper Blooms Coconut (F644), Fairy Floss (F657), Iceberg (F647), Misty (F649).
Other: Music Box, Dimensional Magic, Butterflies, Stickles, Wire, String, Paint, Ink, Chipboard Alpha, Alpha stickers

Toni says: “When I saw this mini wishing well I just knew it was something I had to do. It’s designed as a money box, but I decided to add a little something and got my husband to drill a hole in the back piece for the handle of a little music box. I wanted to create something that was soft and pretty to go with the tune of the music box and The Lakehouse range is perfect with its soft pretty colours. Teamed with white, vine stamping, butterflies and a little bit of bling using stickles, it’s perfect to make a wish and play a little tune. But don’t worry, the lid does come off the money box if you need some emergency funding to make your wish come true. And if you’re wondering it plays one of my favourite classical pieces Fur Elise.”

Bride Ornate Frame by Jodi Dolbel

Products Used: Small Ornate Frame  (SB2167), The Lakehouse Collection – Sticker Sheet (SS139), Paper Pad (PP871), Papers – Villa (P865), Kaisercolour – Winter Blue (Older Line of Product), White (KC001), Clear Stamp – Woodgrain, Paper Flowers –  Sage (F632), Fairy Floss (F640), Mini Paper Blooms –  Sage ( F649), Dusty Pink (F658), Lace – White,  (Em926), Rhinestones – Slit Pea (RS407).

Other: Trinklets, Vintage Pin, Pearls

Jodi Says: “As you can see by all of my projects featuring The Lakehouse Collection, I’m just a bit of a fan of the fountain!! It’s just so lovely!  I also loved this frame when I saw it and thought it would be a perfect compliment for the Lakehouse Collection.  I wanted to feature a photo of myself in this frame as a Bride. Even though the colours in my wedding in no way suit the colours I have used for this frame, the colours more reflect the elegance the day represented.  I painted the frame with an old Kaisercolour paint Winter Blue, gave the frame two coats and sanded back in between coats. I then painted the white paint over the woodgrain stamp and then just stamped it over the frame. I covered the back of the frame with paper. I put the frame together and then started working on the inside of it.  I placed the photo and the stickers around where i wanted them and pressed to mark where I would have to cut so that the photo and the stickers would fit inside the frame. Everything has been lifted with Foam Tape so it sits at different heights within the frame. I then stuck the fountain sticker onto clear acetate and mounted that so it sits over the frame opening. Then I embellished. I’m so happy with the finished product!”

“Tulip Photo Display” by Genevieve Allen

Genevieve says : ” What beautiful pink flowers for a little princess ! I decorated this photo display using the paper pad and collectables. The fence was simply painted with an acrylic paint ‘Pearl’ and stamped to create a cracked look.”

“The pretty wooden butterfly is covered with a paper vellum. Each of the stalks of flowers is embossed with the embossing powder ‘opalescent. This has turned out to be a very cute present to Chloé!”

Materials used: Tulip Photo Display (SB2137); Paper Pad (PP871); Collectables (CT717); Sticker Sheet (SS139); Wooden Flourishes Magical Butterflies (FL341); Rhinestones (RS455); Acrylic Paint Soft Moss (KC052), Candy (KC037).

Hi there Kaisercrafties Genevieve, Toni and Jodi here with you today to share our ‘Check-In’ Off The Page Creations.

With such bold colours, the sky is the limit to our creativity. Check out what we have done with this wonderful collection….. Bon Voyage…..

Triple Frame Set by Toni Crane

Products used: Kaisercraft Triple Frame Set (SB2062), Check In Paper Pad (PP870), Check In Clear Stamps (CS823), Travel tickets (EM979), Acetate Shapes (EM980), Check In Collectables (CT716), Clear Stamps Background Chicken Wire (CS836), Graffiti (CS834), Kaisercraft Wooden Flourish Eiffel Tower (FL356), Small Leaves (FL357), Branch FL358), Chipboard Alpha #3 (CB109), Mini Paper Blooms Honey (F645), Black (F661).
Other: Paint, Stazon Ink, Tim Holtz Stains, Dimensional Magic.

Toni says: “Even though each of these frames is different I’ve tied them all together using the same colour scheme (classic sepia and black) and the same style. This means I can group them all together in the same spot, or separate them.”

“I’ve used the double frame to hold a family photo and coloured the chipboard letters with the Tim Holtz stain, then dabbed some ink on them to get the sepia tone. Once dry I’ve then covered them with Dimensional Magic for a gloss look. The frame was stamped with the Chicken Wire background stamp.”

“On this frame, I’ve kept it very simple with one of the large tags centred in the photo area. I have painted and stamped the frame and added some tags and the Eiffel Tower. It’s a great centrepiece to frame or one for the wall.”

“This last frame contains a photo of my 3 boys. I’ve used one of the Acetate shapes to frame the photo providing interest to the frame, without overwhelming the photo.”

To make these pages I will simply trace the shape of the page and cut them out, punch some holes in the sides and add them between the pages of the journal.”

“I will also add little envelopes between the pages to hold any other memorabilia or photos which wont fit on the pages.”

“The pages themselves have been left quiet simple to allow me to add journalling or photos.”
