More New Wood Flourish Projects

June 25, 2010

Do you need to see a couple more inspiring projects using Kaisercraft’s brand new wood embellishments? We’ve come up with a few more projects for you. I was inspired by the “Vines Wood Flourishes” that perfectly match the pattern on the blue Peachy Keen papers. I used them to create this page about our family tradition of playing in the leaves each autumn.

“Leaves” by Christine Rumley – Vines Wood Flourishes, Peachy Keen paper collection, Chocolate & White Mini Alpha Stickers, Cream Alpha Stickers and Chipboard Alphabet, Pearl pearls SB713, Brown Ink IP702

Renee has created this gorgeous project. She says “I made a Kaisercraft door hanger with the wood flourishes, but I used a different technique with each flourish.  I left the bird in its raw state, while the leaves had a small amount of glitter glue dabbed around it’s edges.  The large frame was backed with a piece of paper and then a flower added to it.  The vine was first covered with white tissue paper, crinkling the paper slightly over it while gluing. When this was dried the excess paper was very gently sanded off. It was then painted with green paint, and the raised surfaces highlighted by rubbing gold paint over it with my finger tip”.

“Ella Door Hanger” by Renee Ludlow – Door Hanger W041, Hey Birdie papers, colour rub-ons, wood flourishes (vines, birds, frames, pearl strip), Alpha chipboard #2, Alpha stickers (brown)

Fran has used her wood flourishes on a card. Here’s what she had to say:

“When I saw these wood flourishes I was blown away – I think they are GORGEOUS! And I just happened to be going to a wedding right after receiving them, so what better use than a gorgeous romantic wedding card using them and the Le Chateau paper collection.

I used Kaisercraft Brown ink – my new ‘go-to’ ink – to ink the birds and the key, and also some organza ribbon from the “Red” organza ribbon packs that Kaisercraft have available now.

Hey Birdie and Jungle Bug layouts

June 24, 2010

First up I’m showing you my “Hey Birdie” layout, and how versatile these papers can be. They have a cute woodsy theme to them which are great for girly pages – but I love the earthiness of the colours. They seemed to suit this old school photo of mine (I’m really showing my age now with my leaving year out there for everyone to see! LOL). My school colours were red and green – attractive I know (not!) and I find it very hard to use those colours together without it looking like a Christmas layout.

So I used the green and brown grid papers, and I loved that the apple felt embellishment suited my school theme also. I simply added some red felt over the top of the pink, while adding that dash of red I needed.Class of ’93 by Fran Tynan using Hey Birdie papers & embellishment, Kaisercraft ‘frames’ wood flourish,Kaisercraft “Numbered” stamps.

And for this second layout, I love how the white grid paper in the Jungle Bug range really made the orange paper ‘pop’. Such a bright fun range!

March ’10 by Fran Tynan using Jungle Bug papers, die-cuts & rub-ons, Kaisercraft Dated stamps, Kaisercraft “Belle’ alphabet stickers.

Hey Birdie multi photo layout

June 20, 2010

The colours of the Hey Birdie range makes me think of girly layouts…and I just knew that these photos of my daughter would work perfectly with this range!

Sweeter than sweet – Elizna Parsons : Hey Birdie papers, Kaisercraft pearl strips, Rhinestones, 6 x 6 paper pad, Alpha Stickers, Chipboard Lettering, Mini alpha stickers

I used P512 Skedaddle paper as my background and layered more Hey Birdie papers on top. I then added the photo frames and all the little embellishments….some I have cut out from the paper and others are from the Hey Birdie 6 x 6 paper pad. I added lots of bling and pearls, too!

For the title I have used both Kaisercraft Alpha Stickers and matching chipboard letters, as well as the Kaisercraft mini alpha stickers.

A few close-ups of details on this layout:

I must confess…I do not enjoy cutting out lots of little bitties, but for this page it worked so well! I might just do it again…{smile}!

Hey Birdie Accordian frames and some very cute cards

June 11, 2010

I have been wanted to use some frames for Amelie’s names to put on her wall ever since she was born. Well, she’ll be 1 in a few weeks, so I figure I really should get to it. The accordian frames were not what I was originally planning to use, but really…they are perfect! It was pretty simple and quick too. With the frames being quite small, I was able to use the paper  pad or scraps, rather than cutting up full size sheets.

“Amelie” By Alicia Barry. Materials used: Hey Birdie paper pad, Kaisercraft accordian frames, Kaisercraft blossoms, Kaisercraft chipboard letters, Kaisercraft Hot Pink paint, Kaisercraft ink

Both the Hey Birdie and Jungle Bug collections lend themselves well to some “punny” cards.  I had alot of fun making these and I’m sure they will bring a smile to the people I am giving them to.

“You are TREE-rific” card by Tanya Tahir – Hey Birdie Collection papers, die cut elements, pink organza ribbon, chocolate and white mini alpha stickers, sepia inkpad, kraft cardstock.

“Happy Bug Day” card by Tanya Tahir – Jungle Bug Collection papers, ribbon, chocolate and white mini alpha stickers, ‘Birthday Cards’ rub-ons, corn inkpad, kraft cardstock.

Girls vs. Boys Mini Albums with Kaisercraft Teapot and Leaf

June 10, 2010

Today I’m going to show you ‘Girl’ and ‘Boy’ themed minis using the Kaisercraft Teapot and Leaf Albums.

First up is this girl’s mini using the Teapot Album and Utopia Collection.  I made it really girly by using lots of rhinestones to “bling” it up and some punched out butterflies.

“Sweet Miley” by Tanya Tahir – Teapot Album, Utopia Collection papers, die cut elements, ‘Sugar and Spice’ rub-ons, rhinestones, rhinestone flowers, rhinestone words, chipboard letters, ‘lilac’ inkpad, ‘black and white’ mini alpha stickers.

And here I have used the Hey Birdie collection to embellish the Leaf album to create a mini about my two boys.  I’ve used only a small amount of pink, with predominantly more of the greens and browns.  I found the brown rub-ons perfect and pretty much used the whole packet on this album!

“Little Mates” by Tanya Tahir – Leaf Album, Hey Birdie Collection papers, die cut elements, coloured rub-ons, brown rubons, ‘sepia’ inkpad, ‘brown’ alpha stickers, ‘All Boy’ rub-ons.
