Card Making Whisper

Whisper Card Set

January 23, 2019

How you stamp can change the look of a card.  You can stretch how far you can make a stamp work by changing the way you

stamp with it. Today I  would like to share how you can create

two vintage cards using one stamp and die set.

” Remember This Moment Card” by Cathy McGrath

KC PRODUCTS: PP1060 Whisper Paper Pad, Decorative Dies – DD992 Leafy Stamp and Die Set, DD507 Nesting Circles and DD55 Round Fancy Frame, CD509 Kraft Card Pack Square ,

CD651 Kraft Cardstock, IP751 Chocolate Ink Pad, F628 Honey Paper Bloom, F661 Black Mini Paper Bloom, T321 Craft Glue, T303 Mounting Foam

OTHER: Seam Binding, Versafine Ink, Clear Embossing Powder

To create a monotone card, stamp with a wet ink such as Versamark then heat emboss the image using clear  embossing powder. Your image

will have a shine to it yet will not compete with any of your other embellishments.  The overall composition will be muted and balanced.

“Double Easel Card” by Cathy McGrath

KC PRODUCTS: PP1060 Whisper Paper Pad, Decorative Dies – DD992 Leafy Stamp and Die Set and  DD805 Perfume Labels, CD509 Kraft Card Pack Square,

Cardstock – CD111 Cookie  and CD651 Kraft, Ink Pads – IP751 Chocolate, IP740 Cotton Candy and IP752 Smoke,  F641 Dusty Pink Paper Bloom, F641 Aubergine Mini Paper Bloom,

T321 Craft Glue, T303 Mounting Foam

To create a romantic feeling card, using muted inks alters the mood of the card.

Using complimentary inks  creates the feeling and cohesion in the overall design. For my card, I selected

Cotton Candy and Smoke ink pads, along with a neutral paper.

Card Making Scrap Studio

Scrap Studio Cards

November 21, 2018

‘Happy Life’ Card by Lisa Amiet

‘Scrap Studio’ is a perfect mix of vintage floral elements, doilies and gorgeous butterflies and moths. Ideal for layouts but also for card making.
I have created this set of cards using lots of fussy cutting and distressing for a shabby look.

PAPERS: SCRAP STUDIO Collection: P2631 Expressions, P2636 Frayed, PP1055 6 x 6 Paper Pad.
KC PRODUCTS: CD502 Card Pack Square Cream, CT948 Collectables, SS374 Sticker Sheet, KM122 Kaiser Mist Yellow, KM125 Kaiser Mist Candy, KM127 Kaiser Mist Turquoise, T315 Double Sided Tape, LDB1056 Foam Tape

I have used Kaiser Mists to splatter my background before adding more layers.

Folding the wings of your moth and only adhering the body, can add lots of dimension to your card, making it more realistic.

You can download the full instructions for this card HERE.

I have used the ‘Mosaic 6 x 6 Template’ and modelling paste on my base paper for my background.

I have used quite a few of the stickers from the Sticker Sheet for this card.

A little bit of bling never hurt anybody.

Art Foam Sheets Layouts Scrap Studio step by step Tutorial Videos

Foam Flower Tutorial with Bonus Layout.

November 13, 2018

Art Foam Flowers

We create for many different reasons,  sometimes for pleasure or perhaps to capture a precious memory or

occasion that has happened in our lives.

Finding the right paper or embellishment can help us to achieve the reason why we have started to create in the first place.

Creating flowers adds an element of beauty to layouts.  They can be used in both masculine and feminine layouts.

By making them feel ‘vintage’ you certainly can  see how effectively they  compliment photos and papers.

Varying the size of the flowers also adds interest to layouts .

To learn how to make these flowers, watch the tutorial below.

By making my own vintage flowers, it creates cohesion to the look and feel of the overall design.
