Step back in time…..layouts

We all have photos from another time and place, generations that have been before us and memories we wish to re-live and hold onto forever.  These memories can take the form of gorgeous vintage photos, snapshots of our childhood or even a glimpse of that stunning 80′s hairdo we’d probably sooner forget.

Today Christine and I have taken a little step back in time to look at some photos from the past.  I chose a photo of my sister and I from 1974.  I was (dare I say), a whole one and half years old and she was three.  I love how my Mum dressed us both in our ‘bell-bottom jeans’ and while it’s hard to see,  the paisley print of my jeans matches the design of the papers perfectly.  I have lots of picture of Liza and I side by side and while I don’t remember the moment in time, I smile none- the -less at how close we were then, and still are today.

“Stand by me” by Nikki Antonello – Gypsy Paper Collection, Paper Pad, Gypsy black and coloured rub ons, Die cut elements, Chipboard Alphabet, Black Kaisercraft Paint, Gypsy Acrylic stamp set, Flower acrylic stamp set, (pearl brads borrowed from Devonshire embellishment pack)

See that  pattern on the dark burgandy paper?  I created that using the beautiful Acrylic stamps that accompany the collection and some embossing powder.  Be sure to check back here on Sunday for our “Sunday Stamping” post.  I will be showing you a little tutorial on how to create your own embossed paper to use in a layout!

Christine was inspired by the colours and the retro feel of the “Super” paper from the Peachy Keen collection to record this childhood memory of her weekly visits to her Grandma’s house.

Which range inspires you to dig out those old photos and get them scrapped?
