Hello everyone and welcome to a new week. It is Renee and Tanya here ready to bring you another fun filled week of projects and layouts using the gorgeous Q3 products.
To start off the week we thought we would get ship shape with some shaped layouts. These layouts are great fun and they are a fantastic way to let your imagination soar. But where do you start? The answer really is….anywhere. Think of a shape, any shape and you can try to make a layout around it. You could start with a circle or a star, or you could draw out a shape that has some meaning to the story of the layout.
This is what I have done for my layout “You can’t handle the tooth”. My darling daughter is experiencing the adventure of her first wobbly tooth. I knew that this momentous occasion needed to be scrapped which inspired me to create this tooth shaped layout.
I started by sketching out the basic tooth shape, and played around with elements and papers until I reached the design that I was happy with. This can take a little bit of fiddling but it truly is a lot of fun to think outside of the square.
“You can’t handle the tooth” (soon to appear in Scrapbook Creations) – Renee Ludlow: La Di Da papers, die cut elements, embellishment pack, alpha stickers, colour rub ons, chipboard alpha #3, 6″ paper pad, large lowercase letter, small uppercase letters, hot pink ink pad
Here is another gorgeous example of a shaped layout made by the very talented Tanya. Birdies anyone? I love the way that Tanya has made her layout in the shape of this cute little birdhouse which is perfectly complemented by those Peachy keen papers. So lovely!!
“Fun Times” by Tanya Tahir – Peachy Keen papers, embellishment pack, rubons, die cut elements
So if you haven’t thought out of the square lately, maybe you could give shaped layouts a go. They are a tonne of fun, and you will never know what interesting creations you will end up with.
