Today on the blog I am sharing a mixed media project with you using the beautiful Rose Avenue Collection.
I wanted to create something a little different to showcase the versatility of this range and just happened to have some wood lying around.
This “thankful” wooden plaque was created on a piece of recycled wood. I created a base using paint, texture paste and pigment powders before adding the top layer
of Rose Avenue using paper and elements from the Collectables pack.
Layered tags and elements from the Collectables pack are layered on top of a piece of paper from the Paper Pad.
Paper flowers on top of the texture paste makes for a beautiful contrast.
Texture paste was applied through the flourish stencil and then colored using pigment powders in pink and green.
The pigments are mixed with water to create a paint or paste and then applied with a medium soft paint brush and left to dry naturally.
Create different layers and dimension by adhering some of the elements using foam tape.
Use the same pigment mixture to add splats all over the plaque for an artistic look.
A few pearls and diamante scattered across the plaque adds some feminine details to an already beautiful vintage looking plaque.
This can be hung on the wall or displayed on a stand somewhere in your home as a reminder to always be thankful.
Such a beautiful way of an important reminder.
