“Vintage Photos” Kraft Paper Bag Album by Pearl Lui

Materials Used: Kaisercraft Bonjour Provence, Paris, Madeleine, Paper Pad, Journal Tags, Lace Foam Tape

Other: sewing machine, die-cut machine, doilies, kraft paper bags, border punch, heart punch, dies

Pearl says:

“I have a stack of favorite vintage photos of my parents and I’ve been meaning to put together a paper bag album to store them. The Bonjour collection is perfect to compliment the photos because of the lovely vintage feel. I cut strips of Bonjour pattern papers and snipped the ends shaped like pennants. I also tossed in some doilies, sewed everything together, scattered photos on the pages and in the kraft bag pockets, tied the package together and just like that, a vintage photo album.”

“I wanted to make something a little bit different that just a mannequin jewellery hanger or a mannequin on canvas so I made them both. I didn’t want to overload my project with embellishments as it will be embellished with some pretty jewellery pieces which I will hang on it.  I raised the mannequin a little with some foam tape  to give space for the jewellery. For some extra texture I first painted the mannequin with white spray paint and then I added acrylic craft paint with a sponge.”

The wooden flourishes Iron Gate helps to close the album. The frame is painted with acrylic paint and «Crackle Medium». A little touch of Distress Ink gave it needed «old style». I covered  Alpha Chipboard with some paper and a layer of “glossy”.”

“The inside of the album is more sober to give more space for the pictures! This lovely collection was perfect for my pictures of «Le Louvre»!”

Each side is a bit different so it’s interesting from any angle.”
