National Scrapbook Day – Celebrations!

May 4, 2009

As mentioned, in conjunction with Geelong scrapbook stores Chandon Craft and Create on Garden, Kaisercraft hosted the National Scrapbook Day – Crop 4 a Cause crop day. With the help of all those who attended, we managed to raise over $2000 for a local cause. Thanks to all who came along, donated, cropped and all involved in making the day a success! A big thank you goes out to Melissa Kennedy who organised the day along with Raqual for her help and donations also. To all who pitched in and helped set up and clean up – a big thank you too!

The crop was completely sold out – with 100 ladies (and a few men) scrapping away – it sure was an awesome day!

A “Scrap Your Bra” competition was run. With around 20 entrants sporting their bra’s in a fashion parade with bra’s covered in flowers, glitter, rhinstones, photos and much more, these bra’s would of taken ages to make. Thanks to all who created bras’ to enter as we know some of you have had breast cancer happen to those close to home.

The below brad belonged to Diane Rowe, how gorgeous is it?  She had literally scrapped the photos onto the bra and all around the back band!!

Cindy Bishop (QLD) came 1st with her stunning bra, and 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize getters got gift vouchers from Bras and Things. Something little to replace those ones that they scrapped up.

We had wonderful prizes raffled out and given as door prizes during the day;  a Cricut machine, Zutter, Crop O Diles, scrapbook packs and much more…. Check out this table! Thank you so much Raqual (Chandon Craft), Marisa (Create on Garden ) for helping out with the donations. Cindy Bishop (who by the way came all the way down from Queensland just for the day) won the cricut amongst other things – thank you sooo much for making that huge effort to come down for the day!

Last, but not lease, here are a few entries for the BTP, Card and Layout challenges. Congratulations to the winners but a huge thank you to you all for the effort you all put in to make these gorgeous creations. It is you guys that have made the day such a success by being involved and taking part but most of all having fun. I loved all your work and I have taken away soooo many ideas.

Dont forget we have a mini crop this Friday night – 8th May (6.30 – 10.30) at the Kaisercraft Outlet. $5 entry. If you’re interested, please visit the outlet to leave your name, or give them a call: 03 5222 3965. All money raised from the evening will go towards supporting this local cause.
