Kicking off with Candy Lane

October 4, 2010

Hi everyone, Nerrida here.  I love making cards and the new Candy Lane has made it so easy. Two themes jumped right out at me straight away…….girly party & tea party.  As with  all the Kaiser ranges, whether they are bright colours or not, you can make something soft-looking and feminine with them, and I love lots of layering too.

Thanks card by Nerrida Mitchell: Candy Lane papers Tea Party (PS122),  Tutti Fruit (P575), Toffee Apple (P578) & Strawberry Sunday (P580), Die Cuts (DC328), Party Rub-ons (RB890), Martha Stewart doilies.

Cherished Friend card by Nerrida Mitchell: Candy Lane papers Tea Party (PS122),  Tutti Fruit (P575), Toffee Apple (P578) & Strawberry Sunday (P580), Sherbet (P577), Party Rub-ons (RB890), Pearl pearls (SB713), Martha Stewart doilies & punch.

Lesley here: Talk about sweetness! Candy Lane is a gorgeous mixture of bright  and more subtle clean colour as well as wonderful graphics. I also love that on the reverse of the strips at the bottom is now a patterned paper strip. No wastage! This range is perfect for these layouts of my daughter.

With the layout ‘Sweet as a Cupcake’, I cut a circle from Strawberry Sundae and placed on the background paper. I placed the photo on the circle and then filled the remainder of the circle full of flowers and cupcakes. I cut flowers from the Tutti Frutti, used flowers and cupcake from the chipboard pack and also used stamped images on acetate from the clear stamps. The strip underneath the photo is the reverse of the bottom strip of the Strawberry Sunday patterned paper folded to create dimension.

“Sweet as a Cupcake” – Lesley Cooper: Candy Lane, Patterned Paper Tutti Frutti (P575), Toffee Apple (P578), Strawberry Sunday (P580); Diecut Elements (DC328); Rhinestone Flowers (EM939); Printed Chipboard (CB117); Clear Stamps (CS765); Rub Ons (RB881); Apha Stickers (AS216); Mini Alpha Stickers (MA501)

Joy is a simple layout using black cardstock so the gorgeous colours from this range pop. I have used the reverse of the bottom strips from Mango Drops and Raspberry Fizz, a wider strip from Strawberry Sunday, the colour rub ons and the alpha stickers to create the pop of colour on the cardstock.

“Joy” – Lesley Cooper: Candy Lane, Patterned Paper Tutti Fruity (P757), Strawberry Sundae (P580), Mango Drops (P576), Raspberry Fizz (P579); Rub Ons (RB882); Other: black cardstock.
