Kaisercraft DESIGN TEAM CALL OUT 2011 – 2012
Hey there! Kaisercraft is on the lookout for a new Contributing Design Team and Community Team for July 2011 – July 2012.
This year Kaisercraft will be appointing 12 Contributing Design Team Members and 3 Community Team members.
We are looking for a wide variety of talents – we’d love to see what you’ve got.

As a part of the Kaisercraft Contributing Design Team you will receive:
- Several boxes of Kaisercraft product supplied every three months including new products before they are released!
- Remuneration for published projects.
- Your name, biography and profile picture on the Kaisercraft Blog.
- Exposure on the Kaisercraft website, blog and other media.
- Possible teaching, publication opportunities.
How do I apply to be on the team?
ROUND 1
Part 1) Email the following by midnight May 1st, 2011 (AEST) to designteam@kaisercraft.com.au
- Full contact details (Address, phone number, email address, blog/website address).
- A little about yourself including your scrapbook style, your strengths and weaknesses.
- Why you want to be a part Kaisercraft’s Contributing Design Team.
- Previous/current Design Team(s) you’ve been on.
- Teaching experience (this is not a requirement).
- Link to your ONE Blog Post/Blog Page with your project submissions (details below)
Part 2) Along with this, please post a selection of at least 8 Kaisercraft projects (from the project list below) that you have created on a dedicated blog post OR blog page of your own blog (you must have your own blog to audition). This blog post must contain ALL your 8 entries, please do not send links to 8 seperate blog posts.
Please DON’T just send a link to your blog address.
- Single /Double scrapbooking layout
- Home Decor / Storage item
- Mini Album
- Mixed Media / Altered Art
- Card
- Papercraft
We will be selecting 25 finalists from all applications. These 25 finalists will be announced on 5th May on the blog and contacted with additional information on our final round.
ROUND 2
The 25 finalists from round 1 will be sent a finalists pack containing one of two collections and will be required to create 1 layout and 1 Beyond-the-Page project and email to the Design Team coordinator before the 31st May. Upon receiving the projects Kaisercraft staff will review them and make the announcement on June 10th.
Who are we looking for?
Kaisercraft’s product range is diverse; not only do Kaisercraft produce outstanding scrapbooking consumable products, but also unique MDF Wooden albums, home decor and off-the-page projects.
We need Design Team members that can complete high quality scrapbooking layouts, cards and Beyond-the-Page projects to show off our paper collections, embellishments and MDF Beyond-the-Page products.
As our team creates content for the Kaisercraft blog to inspire and teach other crafters around the world you must have sound photography skills, an ability to create step-by-step instructions and tutorials, along with material lists.
This call is open to international and domestic applicants.

woo sounds so exciting!! i dont think im quite up to speed with scrapping to be able to hold off a full time job (getting home at 630-7pm every night)and scrapping for a company just yet …maybe in a year or so.. wen the boyfriend is working fulltime and i can go casual

To answer a few questions….
Qu. “What is a Community Team Member – and how does that differ from a Contributing Design Team Member?” A: A community team member will be doing projects essentially for kaisercraft’s ‘community’ – newsletter projects, for facebook etc. They will also heavily be involved in kaisercrafts forum and gallery.
Qu: “Do the submission pieces have to be made using only Kaisercraft products?” No they do not have to be made using only Kaisercraft products. We are not forcing people to use ALL Kaisercraft product, however obvisouly you are applying for the Kaisercraft Design Team so we want to know how you use our product.
Dear Alison and Kaisercraft, this is awesome! I have already started planning, etc. With regard to the blog, does it have to be a blog post, or can it be a page/album on facebook? Do we also need to add it to the gallery on the Kaisercraft forum? Hope you have a wonderful day!

Hi Hayley, It is entirely up to you. If you feel that some of your older projects you would like to use for your application this is fine.

Hi Amelia, No you don’t have to have any previous teaching or DT experience.
I only wish I had enough Kaisercraft products to enter. They don’t sell them at the local stores I go to …
I am thinking very strongly about applying! I have always loved Kaisercraft. I am going to hit up my local scrapbook store tonight to see which products I can get my hands on

hi jennifer, you can submit projects that are non-kaisercraft yes. but we really want to see what you can do with our product, so we suggest you include both kaisercraft and non-kaisercraft product.

I was a bit confused by the Blog posting guidelines … as I already have a very active blog most of the projects I would use for the DT application are already posted, but I did note that you didn’t want several different addresses nor did you want a general link to a blog … so am I right in assuming that if I created a special blog entry that re posted all 8 projects that a link to something like that is what you guys are after? Also do you just want a ‘hero’ shot of each project or should we add in a few close ups as well? Thanks from Kel.

Mine was too about at the beginning of the week, but it was because i email was too large for their serve, or something like that, have you tried resizing your photo’s? once i did that it went though ok. hope that helps alittle.
Oh my shabby goodness … what exciting news! I have a hard time finding Kaisercraft goodies in my LLS, but have submitted some projects using what I did have on hand to design with! I’m going to do some research to find the new Chanteuse line — it’s the prettiest thing I’ve ever seen – {swoon}!!!! Good luck to all who apply … what an honor to design for such a wonderful company
I don’t know … there are no photos in my application, only a link back to photos in my blog … theres actually only a small amount of text! Not sure what to do if I can’t get it in by tomorrow!??

OK, so I finally got my post in late last night. I wasn’t 100% sure about the time, so better safe than sorry. I can’t tell you how much this experience has pushed me, which is GREAT!!!! Had a lot to do in such a short time, but it’s done

I’ve sent my projects in, too. What a RUSH! Good luck everyone — it is so exciting to be a part of this. I’ve so enjoyed the process and checking out everyone’s work! What inspiration!!!
I have also sent in my projects. This is the first time for me applying for a DT position. Was definitely difficult to do as there were not many products available at the local stores where I live. I hope to change that with my creations and a possible position. The product is so versatile and easy to work with! Thanks for the opportunity Kaisercraft!
