Pearl says “The Little Toot collection is also perfect for vacations and road trips! I used a combination of Honk and Bang pattern papers to create this layout featuring a recent road trip, where we took the scenic route around the Hudson Valley area in upstate New York. The different winds and scenes on the road reminded me of the pattern on Honk which perfectly compliment the layout. I used a craft knife to carefully cut the road and pond out, layering it on top of a dome-trimmed Bang pattern paper, and further layering a rounded-corner photo of the Hudson Valley. To embellish, I layered a smaller photo (shaped by the road) with foam squares to add dimension, punched a border from Bang pattern paper to mimic washi tape, added a hot air balloon Layered Printed Chipboard, wrote on a snip of journaling tag, and added sparkle with glitter glue to various graphics on the layout.”

Michelle found that the Little Toot collection of papers was absolutely perfect for layouts of little boys playing with both lego and trains.

“Lego Genius” by Michelle Frisby
Materials used : from the Little Toot collection – PP846 paper pad punch outs, P688 Putt, P689 Screech, PS155 Road Trip, SS105 Little Toot Sticker Sheet, RB923 Rub ons
Extras : Colorwash, bakers twine, cardstock, peg, buttons, corrugated cardboard, embroidery thread
Tip : a little torn corrugated cardboard adds depth and texture [and another layer] … and I’ve added some hand sewing to frame my photo
and this layout has a gorgeous wee man, Finn [waving at you Finn - thank you for letting me make a layout using photos of you when you were a wee boy] …

“Trains and boats and planes” by Michelle Frisby
Materials used : from the Little Toot collection – CB130 printed chipboard, PP846 paper pad – die cuts and strips and background paper, RB923 rub ons, EM925 tags – raw, SS105 sticker Sheet and JT622 journal tags
Extras: Colorwash, corrugated cardboard, button, ink, hessian, flags, cardstock, peg
Tip : I’ve pulled a little piece of thread from my hessian and popped in three stitches down the side of my patterned paper. Just to add a little navy colour on that side of my layout.
The orange peg and raw tag on the right hand side isn’t adhered to the layout – I’m leaving that free so that the recipient of this layout [the Mum of my wee model Finn], can do a little bit of journaling before she tucks this layout away in her album.

Toni says “These papers were perfect to go with photos I had just received of my nephew and his new baby boy.
I loved the bright colours and images on the papers, matching with the bright colours in the photos.
The product strips on the bottom of the pattern papers are great when you don’t want to cut a full sheet for strips to add detail to a layout. The sticker sheets have lots of little elements that you can create great clusters of detail with, by either using the road signs or trees, and also hand cutting the vehicles out of the papers can add different looks as well as dimension, especially when paired with mounting foam.
I ink the edges of my pattern papers to soften the edges and to get them to pop from the background.”
