Layouts

Inspired by the 2009-2010 Kaisercraft Design Team

June 21, 2010

Since the current design team is about to step aside to allow the new design team to take over with their fresh ideas we thought it would be fun to do some layouts that have been inspired by techniques used by other members of the current design team. Personally, Fran Tynan is one of my absolute favourite scrapbookers.  I love her minimalist style and her layouts that typically utilise spots, a circle or two, a bit of vintage book paper and some masking tape.  She has this uncanny ability to create a page that looks like it has just been thrown together, yet it is so classy and it always just ‘works’. In my page “G.P.” I’ve tried to incorporate a few of Fran’s trademark design elements. Fran, thank you for a year of inspiration!

“G.P.” by Christine Rumley – Le Chateau paper collection, 6×6 paper pad, Die-cut elements, Black alpha stickers, Chipboard Alphabet #2, RB810 Life’s Moments rub-ons, Dated clear stamps, IP702 Brown Ink.

Nikki has decided to use Renee Ludlow’s work as inspiration for her Le Chateau layout.  Here’s what Nikki had to say…

“I have long admired Renee Ludow’s ability to create the most stunning pieces of art that contain so many little elements and treasures that it takes me some time to fully appreciate all the intricate details. Renee’s  spectacular work usually incorporates two key elements onto her page.  There is always texture……sometimes in the form of beautiful lace and ever so neatly tied bows of ribbon and twine and a very vintage – kind of – shabby chiche feel.  That is certainly what I was inspired by when creating the layout below.  To add some texture to my page, I decided to use some muslin fabric as a mat for my photo and also incorporated some lace and organza ribbon.  Fortunately the beautiful Le Chateau papers provide a vintage feel, so I just distressed and inked all the edges to add to the theme.

always by Nikki Antonello – Le Chateau paper colection, 6×6 paper pad, Coloured rubons, Pearls, Wooden keys, Kaisercraft Ink pads, Cream paper flowers, Organza ribbon and Cream alphabet stickers.

Nancy has chosen Elizna as her inspiration for a more clean and simple approach to her page.

“I was inspired by a recent page created by Elizna using the Konstrukt collection in last week’s blog posts. It was a simple page that for some reason, really caught my eye. I have always chosen to do lots of textures and layers on my pages, but the clean, straight  lines of Elizna’s page just drew me in. By doing a more clean and simple page, Elizna chose to keep the focus on the adorable photo of  her son, making him the true star of her layout. I chose to use the more vintage-inspired papers of the Le Chateau collection, yet kept the overall design of Elizna’s page the same.”

“This House” by Nancy Burke. Le Chateau paper collection, 6×6 paper pad, alpha rub-ons,  die cut elements. Other: sewing machine, thread.

Thanks ladies, for inspiring us all!!!

I’m impressed, I must say. Really rarely do I run into a site that’s both educative and interesting, and let me tell you, you have hit the nail on the head. Your idea is wondrous ; the issue is something that not enough people are speaking intelligently about. I am very happy that I happened across this.6364 se Mcnary Milwaukie Oregon
