Creative Play with Collette

October 27, 2015

Hi Kasiercrafters, this is Collette and I am thrilled to be with you today.

I have had lots of creative play this month and I have some wonderful projects for you with the latest stunning collections from Kaisercraft.

I hope you enjoy my post and that it inspires you to have some Creative Play!

Holly Jolly is so much fun, bright, cheerful and very festive!

Teepee Christmas Tree Cards

For many years I have made these festive Christmas Tree Teepee cards and I thought I would share how I have made them with you. Super quick and super easy but so very impressive. Enjoy my video in which I show you how to make them and share how I have simply shaped the poinsettias with only my fingers!

This is the Teepee card made which stands 8″ tall.

I have added dimension to the die cut Poinsettias by ‘finger shaping’ them.

I have used the ‘Holly Jolly’ stamp set and Kaisercrafts red and black ink to decorate this section of the tree.

Click on the video link below to see how I have made the Teepee Tree Card and shaped the poinsettias.

Days ”Till Christmas

Let the excitement begin. Only 58 days till Christmas. I love these countdowns and have used the bright and festive Holly Jolly Collection to decorate it this year. I simply applied mist to the numbers and deer and before the mist dried, I sprinkled with glitter….I mean, it would not be Christmas without a bit of glitter!

Christmas Pudding Card

I used Kaisercrafts nesting circle dies to make this card. I cut an extra circle in white and cut away and shaped it to form yummy drips!

Merry Christmas Card

Ok, I know, super simple? Every year in my card classes at Christmas time there is an underlying panic…..”I have so many Christmas Cards to make, and I don’t want to leave anyone out!” My answer is to de-stress, after all, crafting is meant to be relaxing….isn’t it? I advise making the majority of your cards quickly, keeping them simple. For your family and close friends, make the special more time consuming ones. This one was made from scraps that I had left on my table after doing a scrabooking page! In fact I nearly always do this. After I have finished a layout I will grab a Kaisercraft Card Base, (I keep the C6 in white and Kraft on the side of my craft table) and use my leftovers to create a card.

Even though this is a ‘quickie’, I still love it!

This is a soft, shabby collection with underlying feminine tones. I just love the dusty colours.

‘Thinking of You’ Card

I had lots of creative fun with this little card. Tearing, distressing and splattering with paint. While the gesso was still wet I sprinkled with glitter…..I sparkled all day….that beautiful demon dust just gets everywhere!

Oh my!!

Did you see the wonderful colouring books Kaisercraft released this month…..I mean I just had to buy one. I grabbed some pencils one evening, I had a headache and needed to chill out. I coloured a page, quite quickly and not overly precisely, but my headache did go and I felt very relaxed. I thought…way to pretty to stay in a book! So I chopped up my page and co-ordinated the colours with some Kaiser card and created a collection of six beautiful cards, (from that one page!).  Here is one of them. I thought I would bundle them up and give them as a gift this Christmas.

They are quite lovely!

Kaisercraft are running a colouring based  competition this month. For details click on the link on the right hand side of this post for details and enter…it will be fun!

KaiserColour Competition!

So that’s all folks.

Happy crafting
