Creative Cards: Vicki Morris

It is Vicki here to share some very “moving” cards for Creative Card Thursday!
The “Little Toot” range with the Layered Printed Chipboard gave me the perfect little embellishment to create this little moving boat for this Bon Voyage card.
I started this card by scrunching up the “Cruise” paper and then flattening it out again to adhere to the card.
The crinkles were highlighted with a little wipe of an ink pad.
Cut a strip out of the middle of the card – approximately ½ cm wide for your boat to move through.
Make the mechanism for the boat by cutting a strip of cardstock and folding so a large centre piece is showing like above which you can adhere your boat to.
On the inside of the card you will have two end flaps showing so use a little piece of cardstock to place on top of the two ends to make the mechanism more solid.
Use a similar coloured piece of patterned paper to that which you have cut the slot from to place on the inside cover of the card so the slot is less visible from the front.
Adhere this piece of paper to the inside of the card – making sure you do not glue around the area when the boat moves back and forth.
Embellish the card and let the boat sail!!
When the boat moves across the message “Safe Travels” appears.
After playing around with this card – I then thought of using the little roads on the “Honk” paper to get a little fire engine moving for a little friend’s birthday.
Once adhered together the Fire Engine is raised which gives those little fingers plenty of room to drive!
What little boy wouldn’t want his very own fire engine to drive – complete with a little picture of him in the driver’s seat!
When the fire engine moves it reveals the number 3 for his 3rd birthday!
