Creative Cards!

June 2, 2011

Hi Everyone..Hope your week is going well.

Today we have Kirsty and Karen from our Contributing Design Team showing us their absolutely so-too-pretty-to-give-away-I’ll-keep-them-for-myself-cards!!

“Envelope Card” By Karen Shady

Materials list: Pink gelato collection, paper-Vanilla (P680), sticker sheet (SS104), paper pad (PP845), Paper bloom-buttercream, pearls-snow, rub on-wedding.
OTHER: business envelope, white cardstock, border punch, gel pen

Open out the envelope, lie flat, and trace around it, onto white cardstock.

Cut out the envelope, and score the folds, using the original envelope as a guide. Assemble using double sided tape.

Cut to size the ‘Vanilla reverse’ paper for the front and the flap of the envelope, adhere to envelope.
Attach punched lace border under envelope flap. Cut leaf pieces from the sticker sheet, and adhere under flap, then stick the flap down using a glue dot in the centre.
Add a paper bloom and some flowers cut from the paper pad to the centre of the flap. Finish your envelope with some scattered pearls, and a rub on sentiment.

“Postage Friendly Cards” By Kirsty Piper

I have been trying more and more often lately to actually use my ever increasing card stash! As this ‘usage’ often involves posting my often bulky cards, my postage costs have kind of skyrocketed! Just last week I sent three cards that had to be posted as small parcels :O
With this in mind I have tried to create some flatter cards using the gorgeous new Velvet Ensemble and Pink Gelato collections! This was easier than I expected, as the collections both have some gorgeous flat embellishments in their Sticker Sheets, Printed Chipbaord, Rubon sheets and 6 1/2″ Paper pads.

Materials Used: Velvet Ensemble Collection: Matinee(P672), Performance(P675), 6 1/2″ paper pad(PP844), Rubons(RB921) KaiserCraft Other: Rubons: Moments(RB904), Grosgarin Ribbon: Lovely(RI605), Pearl Strip: Latte(PL505) Pink Gelato Collection:Pink Grapefruit(P681), Rubons(RB922), 6 1/2″ Paper Pad(PP845), Printed Chipboard(CB129), Pearls Bliss(SB718), Tiny Alphas: White(MA509)

I know what you mean about flat cards!! Mum’s been asking me to make some cards lately to post interstate and I’ve had to have a little bit of a think so that they can still be posted!! Lovely creations girls!
