Pen and Ink Renee Aslette Tutorial Tuesday

“LOVE” a Pen and Ink Layout Tutorial by Renee Aslette

April 17, 2018

Hello Friends,

Today is all about the “LOVE”.

I have used the Pen and Ink Collection to create this Tuesday Tutorial.

I began with the background P2510 Wallpaper, then I tore a piece to the left and right of P2511 Lacey paper.

I always like to layout my embellishments and photo mat so that I know where they will sit.

I then set about creating a stamped background with the CS324 Clear Stamp set from this collection.  I used the Kaisercraft Ink Pad – Black and the floral stamp from the set.  Here is what it looked like before I lay everything down.

Some of it does get covered, but there will be pieces that pop out.

Then it is just a matter of layering.

Below you will find a video tutorial that will show you how I created the layers.

Here are some close-ups:

I love how this collection can be used with the neutral colourings, or you could add a pop of colour.

I added a little Printed Tape – Arrows Black to this layout, and it was the perfect combination.

Here you can see some of the stamping detail.

DD443 Decorative Die – Film Edges was used for a piece of the layering along with all the beautiful pieces from the Collectables and the Sticker Sheet.

Here is the video:

Misty Mountains Renee Aslette

Loved & Beautiful – a layout by Renee Aslette

March 2, 2018

Hello Friends,

It’s Renee here, to share with you, a layout I created using the new release Misty Mountains Collection.

This collection features so many pretty elements.  The colours are gorgeous.

The photo on this layout is my niece Madelyn.  I always look for a photo that will be perfectly matched to the collection I am using at the time.

There are loads of details in this layout and many layers.

I started by using the P2501 Eclipse (Reverse) paper.

I then layered some Whipped Sparkle with the IT027 Mini Designer Template – Damask.

I used the template in 4 areas on my background.

I inked onto plastic packaging and stamped using the following Kaisercraft Ink Pads.  IP732 Orchid, IP725 Petal Pink and IP728 Saffron combined with water.  These inks are the perfect colours for this collection.  I then finished off with a strip from the Sticker Sheet.

Here are some close-ups of the finished layout:

Here you can see how layered the template is.  So much detail in the texture.

Loads of Kaisercraft flowers and layers in the clusters.

The Title “Loved & Beautiful” is from the CT933 Collectables.

Another cluster of flowers.

Miss Betty NEW Product Renee Aslette Scrapbooking layout

“These Are The Days” layout by Renee Aslette

February 2, 2018

Hello Lovelies,

It’s Renee here, to share with you a layout I created using the new Miss Betty Collection.

I have also used the Miss Betty Clear Stamps.  OMG!!  I am in love with these stitching stamps.

CS321 Miss Betty – Clear Stamp

This is how the layout turned out.

I knew instantly that I wanted to use P2483 Needlework (Reverse) as my background paper.

It had pieces of torn paper featured on a cream background.

I also knew that I wanted to get stamping using the Miss Betty Collection Clear Stamp Set CS321.

This is the background I created with some of the patterned paper and the stamps.  I used the Ink Pads – Black and Petal Pink.

Here are some close-ups:

As you can see I used the Square Stitching stamp from the Miss Betty Clear Stamps and I only inked the areas that would surround the patterned paper.

There are loads of layers on this layout.  I have also used stickers from the Sticker Sheet, Collectables and Wooden Flourishes all from this amazing collection.

To balance the right hand corner of the layout, I added some layers and stamping.

Here you can see the corner stitching from the Clear Stamps has been used.  I followed through with the same thing in the bottom left hand corner.

I used the ticket from the Sticker Sheet for the title of my layout “These Are The Days”.

Documented Renee Aslette Tutorial Tuesday

Create a Vintage Layout using the Documented Collection

January 16, 2018

Hello There Crafters,

It’s Renee here, to share with you, a tutorial on how to create a Mixed Media Vintage Layout using the Documented Collection, including the Typography Template and Clear Stamps.

I start by using the Documented Collection P2462 Lockers (Reverse) as the background.

I want to create layers and texture.  So  next I am going to use Whipped Spackle and the IT030 Mini Designer Template – Typography along the right side of the page.

I allow this to dry naturally.

Using a dry brush, I add some White Gesso to the centre of the page and then also allow it to dry naturally.

To create the above affect, I use a combination of the IP719 Ink Pad – Black and a Tim Holtz Distress Ink Oxide – Vintage Photo.  Using a piece of empty packaging plastic, I add some of the ink and then stamp in the section I would like it to go, focusing more on the areas where the gesso is and around where the photo will be.

Here is a close-up:

Using CS785 Clear Stamp – Typewriter Font and an acrylic block, add some letters in random spots on the block to create an alphabet stamp.

I wanted add another pop of colour, so I use IP723 Ink Pad – Vintage and the Ruler from CS319 Clear Stamp – Documented.

Here is a short video to show you how I created the stamping technique.

This is what it looked like after I completed the stamping.

Here is a close-up:

From here it was a matter of finishing with various Patterned Paper, Collectables and Die Cuts from the Documented Collection.

The Title “Memories Together” came from SS355 Sticker Sheet – Document Collection.

Tearing sheets of Patterned Paper give this layout a vintage feel.

I love this collection and I know you will too.

I hope you were inspired and thank you for stopping by.

Decorative Dies NEW Product Open Road Renee Aslette Scrapbooking layout

Eungella Dam Layout using Open Road by Renee Aslette

December 14, 2017

Hi Kaisercraft Friends,

It’s Renee Aslette here today, to share with you a layout I created using the newly released Open Road Collection and the Map Of Australia Die Cut.

We have recently purchased a camper trailer, this collection was the perfect way to capture the memories of a fantastic week away visiting Eungella Dam.

Eungella Dam, is a beautiful camping area up in the Eungella Valley just out of Mackay in Far North Queensland.

To begin with, I created a mixed media background using some Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Refills on a 12 x 12 Weave Cardstock – Coconut.  The touch of blue was used to tie in with the camper in the photo.

I also added a torn strip of Corrugated Cardstock to the left and right of the layout.

I then got the new Map of Australia Die Cut out and cut 4,  using various patterned paper from the Open Road Collection.  When I received this die cut, I knew I would be using it as a feature on a layout.

I used a white pen to define the separation lines on the die and the border of the entire piece.

Here are some more close-ups:

The Collectables in this collections are stunning.  Perfect for any adventure.

I used the Kaisercraft Chipboard Alpha 2 for the title and coloured it with the same colours I used in the background of the layout minus the blue.

I hope you enjoyed this post.  Don’t be afraid to get those dies out and feature them on your layout.
