Fairy Garden Jowilna Nolte Layouts Misty Mountains Tutorial Tuesday Tutorials

Tuesday Tutorial by Jowilna Nolte

March 27, 2018

I love creating layouts using more than 1 range of papers. Finding ways of incorporating different papers and elements together is so much fun.
Today I am showing you how I used the 2 ranges from this month together to create a double page layout. And I simply love it!

and

In my opinion it adds lots of interest. It can also help you use up all your stash that may be stumping your creativity a bit.
Use what you have and find ways to make it work together beautifully.

Adding Interest to your flowers

For my flower centers I used a custom mixture of different coloured micro-beads and glitter. I wanted to add some dimension to the flowers
and this was the perfect way to do it without too much bulk. The different colours also helped to pull together all the different colours in my layout.

step 1 – Cut out all the flowers for your layout using your Precision scissors from the Moonstone paper sheet.

step 2 – Add a small amount of dimensional glaze where you want to add the beads.

step 3 – Lightly sprinkle the micro-bead mixture over the glaze and leave to dry. Decant the excess beads back into the container.

Adding colour to the background

To pull everything together on my background I used different inks in green and purple, representing the two different ranges of papers.

step 1 – Add a few drops of ink onto a small plastic packet. Lightly mist the ink with water.

step 2 – Stamp the ink onto the patterned paper sheets you are using on your background.

step 3 – Leave the ink to dry completely and then cut your different papers into strips to use on your background.

The inked paper strips form my background and the inked pieces adds interest and ties everything together beautifully.

Cluster the flowers in the top left and right hand corners to frame your photos and paper strips in the middle.

A few dark purple elements like the stamped triangle and buttons pick up on the dark purple pieces throughout the layout.

Products used
Kaisercraft Products: Misty Mountain Collection: P2497 Marbled | P2500 Light Leaks | CS323 Clear Stamps |  PP1040 Paper Pad |
Fairy Garden Collection: P2495 Moonstone | T316 Precision scissors | T317 Craft scissors
Other: dimensional glaze | inks | sewing machine | micro-beads

I hope this inspires you to try using different collections together for something new. I love creating with different collections – using what I love from each one.
Until next time, Love Jowilna!

Explosion Box

March 23, 2018

Hello everyone! I hope that you have had a wonderful week. Today I am sharing with you an explosion box. I plan to give this as a gift to my cousin who had recently been away on a family holiday. I have started to add some of the photos that they have shared inside, but I’ll share with you how this box is like a mini album.

When you open the box this is your first view. It has three layers, each has a section that has been designed to hold photos.

The first layer has four mini waterfall sections that have magnetic closures.

The first layer also has four side pockets which have tags that have spots for photos an journaling.

The middle section has four pockets that contain a mini book. Each book has a space for four photos.

The final section has four belly bands, with enough room for tags and photos.

Below I have a short video walk through which explains the mechanisms of this explosion box.

Tuesday Tutorial with Beck Beattie

March 20, 2018

Hi Everyone, Beck Beattie with a Scrapbook page share today as part of my Tuesday Tutorial.  The Misty Mountains collection is really so divine to creat with.  The tones really seem to suit black and white photos which I love to create with.  I think it might be the ‘cool’ tone of the colours that really seem to work.

Kaisercraft Products: Misty Mountains Collection: P24502 Agate|P24503 Sunset|P24504 Divine| FL621 Be You Flourish Pack | IP732 Orchid |T301 Glue Stick

I’ve created my tutorial in the form of a video for you today.  Please have the sound turned on on your computer to be taken through the tutorial.

Here are some more pictures of my page for you to enjoy.

I hope you enjoyed my tutorial today and even consider having a go at creating your own version of my page.

Happy Crafting!
