Hello everyone! I hope that you have had a wonderful week. Today I am thrilled to be able to share a gatefold photo folio with you. Folios are a wonderful way to store lots of photos and they also make wonderful gifts for friends and family.
To decorate my folio, I kept my design simple, using a minimal background paper highlighted by the textures of the flowers from the sticker sheet. It also has a magnetic closure.
Inside the folio the three sections enable spaces for lots of photos!
The cutapart cards make perfect tags. The sentiments are heartfelt and varied in this collection.
Below is a video walkthrough as I go through and share all of the components of this gatefold photo folio.
Hello everyone! I hope that you are having a great week viewing the new collections from Kaisercraft. As you have seen, Kaisercraft have released some beautiful Christmas collections this year and the Mint Wishes Collection certainly doesn’t disappoint. Today I am sharing an envelope mini album that I created using this collection. This album is a gift for a dear friend of mine who is a proud ‘poppy.’ He enjoys sharing pictures of his grandson from his phone, so my gift to him is this album. As he is a non crafter, the album is straight forward therefore it is easy to construct.
I have two videos to share with you. One is a walk through of the completed album and the second is the tutorial. So grab a cuppa and enjoy!
The Video Walk Through
The next video is the tutorial. This is a lengthy video as it was filmed in real time. To assist you in your viewing, you can fast forward to the following sections:
33m matting the covers
51min pages and inserts
57min matting pages and inserts
1hr 1min attaching pages to album
1hr 3 min creating the pocket and belly band
The format of the album was deliberate. I didn’t want it to be too difficult for my friend, as some mini albums have a lot of interactions. However there are still lots of spaces for photos.
Mini books are great inserts into mini albums. You can journal and add small photos. The sentiments from the cut a part sheet are great for creating these.
The papers in the collection coordinate beautifully! You can mix and match so all of the components of your album effortlessly. By limiting the colour palet, it makes the designing the album less complicated and it makes the whole experience enjoyable.

With one pack of envelopes, you can make two mini albums. These are great as gifts and also Christmas is coming!
Do you ever have a few memorable photos that you think deserve a special Album? Do you ever create or decorate Mini Albums? Mini Albums are perfect for showcasing little collections of photographs. Today I am sharing how to make a Small Polaroid Mini Album for four photos using Kaisercraft’s Rose Avenue Collection. I filmed the process for making this Album so you can see exactly how it came together.
Being a Mum of two precious boys I don’t have a lot of pink girly photographs in my personal collection or a lot of pink girly things in my home. Even though I am a girly-girl at heart, most of my photos have blue-t-shirts, caps, balls and boys toys in them. Luckily I do have friends that have little girls and I do happen to have some friends that are very talented at hosting amazing birthday parties.
When one of my friend’s said her little girl’s first birthday party was going to be a ballerina theme I did get a little bit excited. Especially as this particular friend is an amazing cook as well and I certainly wasn’t disappointed! The party was gorgeous and the food just blew me away. My friend hand-made everything (including the cake) and I took lots of photographs on the day of all the lovely pink, ballerina food. All of this meant that I had a collection of yummy pink party food photographs and I thought they deserved a special place in a Mini Album.
Rose Avenue Collection
The Rose Avenue Collection is perfect for scrapping those girly-girl photos. It is filled with Shabby Chic gorgeousness – roses, butterflies and lots of pretty pastel colours. For this Mini Album I chose to use Kaisercraft’s Small Polaroid Album. It is just the right design for whipping up a quick Mini Album to showcase four special photographs. I used one 12×12 Paper for this project and one page from the Paper Pad.
How I made the Album
To begin with I inked the chipboard album in Pink ink. Then I used paint and texture paste to paint over the top of the pink ink through this template to create a textured pattern on the chipboard album.I’m a big fan of swirls and flourishes…there is something that I love about them…and this new Template from Kaisercraft SWIRL FLOURISH is just divine.
I adhered my photographs onto 12×12 Paper WOOD PANELS and then it was just a simple matter of gluing the photo and the frame together.
Once the pages of the Album were assembled I was up to the decorating part. I used a variety of Mini Paper Blooms, Fussy-cut Roses, Wooden Flourishes, Flourish Die Cuts and Cheese Cloth scraps to decorate each page. Here is the Process Video that shows exactly how I made the Album:
This Mini Album will be the perfect gift for my friend….I hope she likes it : )

What are your thoughts? Do you like to make Mini Albums? Are you loving the new Rose Avenue Collection?
Do you share my love for making Mini Albums? They are such a fun, short project and are perfect for gifting to a friend or family member. Today I am sharing a Mini Album that I made and Five Tips on how to make a Mini Album. I also have included a video that demonstrates exactly how I put this Album together using Kaisercraft’s gorgeous new “Christmas Jewel” Collection.
I have had some Graduation photographs on my desktop waiting and waiting for the right paper collection. When I saw the beautiful purple shades in “Christmas Jewel” I knew they would be a perfect match. Even though this is a Christmas Collection there are some “un-Christmas like” papers included that could be utilised in an “un-Christmas like” project. If you have been waiting for a purple collection, this is such a beautiful set, so many lovely shades of purple and with silver trimmings. It really is divine. Alternatively, if you have some lovely Christmas Photos that you would love to make into a Mini Album, you could easily choose the more “Christmassy themed” papers from the collection. You could make a Christmas Mini Album instead of a Graduation Mini Album.
Before I jump straight into my Mini Album Tips I would like to welcome you to a brand new year on the Kaisercraft Blog. Today, the 1st of August, marks the beginning of the new 2017/2018 Year for the Kaisercraft Design Team. I am honoured to be the first Team Member to blog for the year and I can promise you that you will LOVE this new team filled with talented artists. The projects that they have already created and are waiting to share are so beautiful and the new Kaisercraft Collections are to die for! This year is going to be amazing!!
So lets get started then, to kick off the New Year I am sharing Five Tips to Make a Mini Album. This post is for all the Mini Album lovers out there and for those who might be new to making a Mini Album but might need a little encouragement to give one a try…
Mini Album Tip #1 – Gather Your Materials
This tip might seem very obvious but, if you know what collection you are using and you have most of the bits and pieces from that collection it makes the creating process a whole lot easier!! I chose the “Christmas Jewel” Collection because it matched the Graduation Gown of our friend in the photographs. (Isn’t she a little cutie.) I then went through and searched my craft room for purple and silver glitter tape, a co-ordinating Ink Pad and album rings. The easiest Mini Albums I have made are when I start with a base that is already prepared for me. This time I chose the Kaisercraft “Ticket Album”. It is a great size for 4×6 photos.
Mini Album Tip #2 – Keep Your Design Simple
To make creating a Mini Album a quicker task it helps to keep your design nice and simple. For my Album I chose to use 3 12×12 Papers: P2362 Gilded Snowflakes, P2364 Winter Wonderland, and P2369 Glimmering for my base pages. The Polka-dots were for the front and back Covers of the Album. The other two papers were for the two opening spreads in the Album. I simply cut these with a blade and glued them to the base pages of the Album.
Mini Album Tip #3 – Repeat the Same Design For Every Page
Sometimes it can be hard to think of different ideas to decorate every page of your Mini Album. I suggest keeping the same design for every page. This creates a lovely co-ordinating effect throughout the album and allows you to enjoy creating without too much brain strain!! For my Album I chose IT448 Ornate Damask Template and used that to decorate the pages of my album.
I also chose to cut P2365 Ornate Garden into strips and use that with Glitter Tape to decorate the middle of each page.
Mini Album Tip #4 – Select Meaningful Quotes
I do love the lovely quotes Kaisercraft use in their products and collections. I love the look of a meaningful quote alongside a photograph. For this Album I used Kaisercraft’s “Clear Stickers” ST928 Life and ST925 Family to fill the page opposite my photograph.
Mini Album Tip #5 – Embellish with Decorative Dies
I love Kaisercraft Decorative Dies. Every month there is a new die that I am just longing to collect. In this project I used numerous dies to decorate and embellish the pages of this album. Decorating with Dies is such a quick and easy way to fill space on a project. I have listed the dies I used in this Album below, just in case you would also like to make these part of your die collection ; )
DD589 – Hydrangea Rectangle
DD793 – Ornate Pack 1
DD388 – Poinsettia
DD757 – Large Flourishes
DD347 – Numbers
Mini Album Tutorial/Process Video
Finally, here is my Tutorial/Process Video. I would love you to take a look and see exactly how I put my Album together from beginning to end. You might even like to subscribe to my You Tube Channel. On my channel there are over 20 videos of projects I have made with Kaisercraft Products.
I have had two amazing years as a designer for Kaisercraft. It is time for a change for me, and therefore this will be my last blogpost for Kaisercraft. This time I am showing two projects with this months collections, The Golden Grove collection and Lilac Whisper. I have often loved creating different kind of projects, but most of all – I love creating beyond the page projects.
Golden Grove Collection
The first project is a mini album with a card with the Golden Grove collection. This is a simply decorated gift album. Fantastic as a present, for someone to add their own photos. The mini album has been made fro scratch. You can find the tutorial for the minialbum here.
The front of the album has a pocket with room for a card.
All the sides of the album has side flaps. The pages are simply decorated with panels from the different papers.

Lilac Whisper collection
The Lilac whisper collection is a soft and sweet collection. A few weeks ago, I created this dress and featured it in my blog. I thought I wanted to share it here too. I have always loved making dresses out of paper. The doll here is a barbie doll, and the dress has been created shaping and folding each ruffle seperatly when I created the pattern.
