Letters To Santa Mabel Sim NEW Product Tutorials

Santa Claus Says Merry Christmas! by Mabel Sim

September 26, 2017

Hi everyone!

I’m Mabel and I’m here to share with you a tutorial with the new Letters to Santa Collection to create a simple Christmas themed frame that is so apt for your Christmas display.

I first start with a 8×8 inches shadow box which I prepped it with an even coat of white gesso. You can also use any white acrylic paint/white opaque paint to replace gesso if you do not own one.

In the meantime, while waiting for the gesso to dry, cut down P2388 Christmas Poinsettia as a base.

I had also fussy cut out my centrepiece for today with P2395 Be Merry. I trimmed out the circle sentiment and mount it on foam tapes to give it some dimension.

Layering is always the key to make your project looks sophisticated. It is actually a very simple technique of arranging your pieces together on different heights. For this time round, I am making use of the rim of the shadowbox to show different layers. I had fussy cut out Mr. Santa from P2389 Dear Santa and stuck it to the bottom corner of my frame.

To balance out the opposite end, I am also adhering pieces from the CT890 Collectables as well as from P2393 Holly & Berries, followed by Christmas streamers from SS347 Sticker Sheet.

Adding pulled cheese cloth will also add some additional interest to the project.

Simply cut down the cheese cloth to tiny bits and tug it gently for the strings to break apart from its usual placement, adhere them to the bottom of your flowers.

Here’s the final look and some close up pictures. :)

Hello!

Tatiana is here with you today and I have a new layout to share with last Christmas photography. For my project I chose monochrome ‘Christmas Edition’ collection. I fussy cut flowers and leaves from ‘Rejoice (reverse)’, deer from the front side of ‘Christmas tree’ and berries from the reverse side using precision craft scissors.

I also used flourishes and coloured them with white and charcoal mists. As the final touches I used pearls and splashes.

Letters To Santa Renee Aslette

Selfies With Santa a layout by Renee Aslette

September 18, 2017

Hi There,

Did you know there are only 14 weeks until Christmas!!

So to get into the spirit I have created a layout using the amazing Letters to Santa Collection.

Here is the layout, which features my adorable nephew Hamish.

What I love about this collection is the versatility of the patterned papers.  You can make it traditional or you can change it up and make it a little modern.  I was inspired by the red brick wall from the collection, and based my layout around that piece.

I created a tag with the wood panelling from the Paper Pad.  Then to create layers, I add some pieces from the Collectables in this range.

I used a combination of Alphabet Stickers and Chipboard to create the title.

I created the brick wall background, with a sheet of red brick from the Paper Pad.  I fussy cut into the brick paper to make a realistic brick wall.  Followed with layers of Collectables again.

I did lay some colour onto the background to create a mixed media look by using Ink Pads, water and the plastic wrapper from the Collectables range.  Stamping the colour onto the white cardstock.

The possibilities with this range are endless.

Donna Espiritu Layouts Letters To Santa

“Believe” layout by Donna Espiritu

September 14, 2017

Hello!

Donna here to share a scrapbook layout I created using the Letters To Santa collection.

I love the traditional colors red and green in this collection and my niece’s photo is perfect so I used that here.

Let me show how I created this layout, it’s just a few simple steps actually. The part that took time was fussy cutting the images from one of the papers.

First, use the Be Merry paper as the base for the layout. Cut the special die cut paper like so and adhere to the right and left corners as seen in the image. Mat the photo with one of the cards from the Perforated Wishlist paper and add some messy white threads underneath.

Embellish with the fussy cut images from the Christmas Poinsettia paper and pieces from the Letters To Santa Collectables. Use foam tapes to some of the pieces to add dimension. Using the Decorative Die Lantern Scene and Glitter Cardstock in Champagne, cut some leaves and a candle.

Using a brush, splatter white watercolors all over the layout (use a piece of scrap paper or plastic to cover the photo from unwanted splatters). And the layout is done!

Here are some detailed shots of the finished layout

I hope you liked my project today!

Christmas Letters To Santa

Scrapbooking the Spirit of Christmas with Kylie

September 11, 2017

Hello friends. Kylie here with you today to share a layout I have completed using the new “Letters To Santa” Christmas collection. This is a lovely ‘traditional’ themed range with both modern and vintage designs.

I love ALL the papers in this range but I was particularly drawn to the red and white stripe.I have used it on many projects this month!

Here is a little look at my completed layout.

I really wanted to create something with a ‘fun’ element to it.I have broken up the background paper by adding a border to the top and bottom of my page.I also edged it with some half circles, which showcases more papers from this beautiful collection.

I have added some phrases to my layout such as ‘Believe’ which I cut from gold glitter card stock with a decorative die – DD402.

I have done the same using these phrase dies also.(DD777 Christmas Word Pack)

The beaded border from the sticker sheet added a small hint of detail for my layout and gave a lovely balance.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my project today and it has given you some inspiration for your own Christmas projects.

Until next time,

Kylie.
