Tutorial Tuesday with Tatiana!

January 24, 2017

Hello Kaisercraft fans!

Tatiana Yemelyanenko is here with you today and I’d like to share my two layouts featuring amazing January collection ‘Ubud Dreams’.

For my first layout I chose this year Christmas photo of my daughter. Palette of ‘Ubud Dreams’ collection fits it perfectly I think. I also created photo step by step tutorial with process of creating it.

I used Sekar as the background for this layout. Then I cut out doilies from Bayu paper using precision craft scissors. I also cut some doilies and rectangles from 6 1/2 ” paper pad.

On the next step I cut circles from Lagoon and Platinum glitter cardstock. As I don’t have cutting machine I led around washi tape and cut circles by hand.

Then I embossed silver doilies using vellum and  clear stamps from ‘Ubud Dreams’ collection and cut them.

I also decided to colour wooden flourish using Turquoise Kaiser mist.

Then I arranged fussy cut elements, collectables and stickers around the photo to create flow diagonally across my layout.

On the final step I embellished my laypout with different pearls and rhinestones and added splashes with turquoise and charcoal Kaiser mists.

And my ready project.

And details.

My second project is a layout published in January workshop magazine. This layout is about me, my thoughts and decisions I should make this year, so that’s why so many question marks and open doors on the layout. I should choose only one :).

I used Citra paper as a base for this layout. Then cut big doors from  Mantra paper and the sheet with same design from the 6 1/2” paper pad. Cut rectangle frames from glitter cardstock using craft knife. Then layered doors, collectables, frames and stickers around the photo, added wooden arrows, rhinestones and sparklets, glued question mark stickers. On the final step I added splashes using different Kaiser mists.

And some details.

‘Mini album for a little boy’  by Kirsten Hyde

I have created a small minialbum for the baby’s first year. There is space for a photo for each month during the first year. Ther front of the album has a shakerbox with beads and wooden embellishments.

The album is simply decorated inside.

‘Guess it!’ Altered box by Terhi Koskinen

I made a box for a Baby Shower game I love to play. The idea is that all Baby Shower guests writes their guesses about the unborn baby (weight, lenght, date of birth, name…) to a note and put the papers to this gorgeous box. Then after the baby has been born, the best guesser gets a little prize – and new parents will have this little box as a memory of the life chancing pregnancy time.

‘Sparkle’ Layout by Collette Mitrega

Hi Kaisercrafters :-)

I have had such fun playing with the ‘Glisten’ collection.

To make the beautiful oversized bauble, I used Kaisercrafts Ornamental template and applied texture paste onto gold glitter card. While still wet, I sprinkled from on high, ( I felt like a master chef!!!),  some shimmery glitter and then fixed it with a fixative spray. I then cut it out and attached it with Foam tape!

Christmas sparkle with Glisten

October 4, 2016

Hi everyone, Sonia here with the fabulous ‘Glisten’ collection. If you love a bit of bling like I do, then this is a collection you are going to love! It has both silver and gold highlights with touches of glitter and foil which is ready for your Christmas creating! I couldn’t wait to start playing with Glisten and some Glitter Cardstock – a perfect match!

I opted to use the silver highlights of the Glisten Collection along with some of my favourite Kaisercraft dies.

Christmas tags

Kaisercraft products used: P2172 ‘Lustrous’ | P2173 ‘Luminous’ | P2175 ‘Shimmering’ | SS322 Glisten Sticker Sheet | CT865 Glisten Collectables | GC102 Glitter Cardstock Steel | GC103 Glitter Cardstock Platinum | GC104 Glitter Cardstock Crystal | DD941 Stitched Circles Die & Stamp set | DD518 Nesting Tags Die | DD326 Reindeer Die | DD310 Ornate Frame Die | SB700 Silver Rhinestones | TM803 Silver Metal Bookplates | LD81059 Natural Twine

The Glitter Cardstock adds a gorgeous sparkle to your dies! I always use a metal cutting plate under my dies to ensure a nice, clean cut – particularly with some of the more detailed dies

The title of my tag was from the Glisten Sticker Sheet. It was too long for the tag so I cut it in half. Backing the stickers with foam tape adds a wonderful dimension to your piece:

The Reindeer Die (DD326) is one of my favourite dies – who couldn’t love this gorgeous and elegant reindeer?!! I used the ‘Luminous’ paper (P2173) as it has wonderful shades of silver on it from the bauble images that create an interesting illusion of texture on the Reindeer:

The Metal Bookplates are a great way to frame stickers so they add extra dimension to your project”

I have used a few Decorative Dies on my tags and the possibilities of these wonderful tools are endless! It means you can have your shape in any colour or pattern of paper (or cardstock) you wish. As I mentioned before I always use a metal cutting plate underneath my dies when I cut to help get a clean cut. The plates also come in handy if you wish to add a little extra detail to your die cut paper.

I absolutely adore the Detailed Feather Die (DD157)

The Die cuts out the beautiful and detailed outer edge but the lighter blue pieces are not cut when put through your die cutting machine. I really wanted this detail as the solid feather was a little heavy for my tag so, after running the die through my machine, I carefully removed the cut cardstock with the metal die on my metal cutting plate and placed on my desk. Be careful not to move the die and paper / cardstock!

Using a craft knife, carefully cut out the details you wish to keep using the die as a guide. Keeping the die on the metal cutting plate helps with a cleaner cut (it’s not so great for your blade though!)

Once you’ve made all the cuts you need, remove the metal die and you’ll have the extra detail you were looking for!

You can see how delicate the feather looks behind the Ornate Frame:

I hope this has you ready to get into your Christmas crafting – after all, Christmas is only 12 Sundays away!
