Donna Espiritu Gypsy Rose Mixed Media Scrapbooking layout Tutorials

“You are good for my soul” Gypsy Rose Layout

July 10, 2018

Hello, lovelies! I hope you’re all having a great day! It’s Donna here with a scrapbook layout using one of the newest collections this month, Gypsy Rose.

Here is what I came up with

I started with a blank white cardstock, cutting an inch off of two sides.

Then I mixed brown and pink watercolors and splattered some on the cardstock. If you flick the brush a bit closer to the surface, it will create small splatters. So if you flick the brush farther, it will create bigger splatters.

I let the watercolor splatters stay for a while, letting it seep through the cardstock, before using a piece of plastic to spread and flatten the splatters. I also used a piece of tissue to get some of the water so the colors won’t be too bright. I just want a hint of watercolor on the background. After this has dried, I mounted the cardstock on a patterned paper.

I used this beautiful Decorative Die, Crochet Doilie, to cut a bronze glitter cardstock. I started off with this to decorate/embellish the layout.

Mounting it with a foam tape, I placed it like so and then added an array of embellishments below it to mimic a dream catcher.
I used both stickers and die cuts from the Collectables pack. Some were mounted using foam tapes for dimension and some were simply glued on top or under a piece of another embellishment.

It really is quite simple and easy!

Donna Espiritu Full Bloom Scrapbooking layout

“You Make My Life Beautiful” | Donna Espiritu

June 11, 2018

Hello, beautiful Kaisercraft readers! Donna here with my personal post using one of Kaisercraft’s newest collections,

“Full Bloom”

I’m adding this to one of my favorites because of the gorgeous floral patterns, the soft pastel colors and the rose gold foiling in this collection. And the wood background! Totally swoon-worthy!

I used this distressed wood paper as the background/base to my layout. I just love how it made the colorful papers and embellishments stand out.

Then I added strips to the top part using a border punch to one of the strips.

The pink and white splatters tie up the top part and bottom part together. So it doesn’t look like disconnected.

I adhered the smaller paper strips in the middle using foam tape for dimension. I alternated the patterns and colors with a doily and white thread to create interest. I downloaded a bow pattern from the internet (just type “bow template” in the search button and you’d see a lot of different templates. Just get save and use the one you like) and made one and accentuated the bottom of the photo with it. I just traced it with pencil and fussy cut with scissors.

I used one of the word arts in the sticker sheet as the layout’s title. I adhered it to the bottom part of the layout using foam tape.

Art Foam Sheets Donna Espiritu Stargazer

Stargazer Layout by Donna Espiritu

May 18, 2018

Hello everyone! Donna here with a project using the Stargazer collection.

I knew I wanted to create a scrapbook layout using one of the many photos of my daughter while she’s asleep. I love taking photos of her while she looks like a little angel… coz when once she wakes up, well… you know what happens when our little angels are awake :D

So on to my layout… I turned my photo into black and white so it will blend beautifully with the colors of the Stargazer collection.

The background paper already has dark blue splatters but I still added more using white, black, turquoise and lavender misting sprays. After placing everything I splattered all the misting sprays again with the photo covered so it won’t get any unwanted splatters.

I used the Navy art foam sheet to create the flowers and accentuated them with Ice Blue Rhinestones. It turned out really pretty! Love the contrast of the dark blue flowers and how the rhinestones sparkle. I only used two layers of art foam flowers though compared to the others I did with 3-4 layers. The dark color and the petals already made the flowers look fuller so I kept it with just two layers.

Using foam dots really create depth or dimension to any project. I’ve used it to adhere the doily and photo. As well as some of the Collectables and art foam flowers. I’ve also added word art strips and stickers as the final touch to my layout.

That’s all from me today! I really hope you liked my Stargazer layout as much as I do!

Thanks for dropping by and happy crafting!

Donna Espiritu Pen and Ink Scrapbooking layout Specialty Papers Tutorials

“Beautiful” Pen & Ink Layout by Donna Espiritu

April 24, 2018

Hello, everyone!
It’s Donna here with you today sharing a scrapbooking layout tutorial using the Pen and Ink collection. I’ve debated between making a card and layout. Of course, the layout won!

So, let’s start with the short step-by-step tutorial:

  1. I started with a white cardstock as the base. I will be trimming an inch off of this white cardstock later as you will see in the next steps. I mounted my photos with some foam tape for a bit of height.

2. To add texture and a bit of color, I used a mixture of black, brown and white metallic mists. I kept on adding white glimmer mist until it mixed beautifully with the brown and black mists. Using a heat tool, I dried the splatters before adding modeling paste with a spatula and stencil.

3. I placed a doily underneath the photo before adhering with glue.

4. I fussy cut a lot of images from one of the Pen & Ink specialty paper. I love how vibrant the black images are against the soft sepia tones of the papers in the collection.

5. As mentioned earlier, I trimmed an inch off the white cardstock. Then, I adhered it on the Lacey patterned paper.

6. I started embellishing after this with the Collectables and the rest of the fussy cut images from the specialty paper, Antiques.

7. For the final touch, I scattered black rhinestones following the diagonal flow of the page design.

Here are more detailed shots of the finished layout

I tucked in some wood flourishes and left them as is for a bit of color contrast.

I mounted some of the ephemera pieces with foam tape for dimension.

That’s all for now. I hope you liked my project! Do leave a comment if you have any questions regarding today’s project.

Thank you so much for dropping by and see you with a new project in a few days.

Happy crafting,

Donna

Card Making Donna Espiritu Fairy Garden

“Make Your Own Magic” ~ Fairy Garden Card

March 19, 2018

Hello! Donna here sharing today’s project using the beautiful Fairy Garden collection. I love the soft pastel colors, florals, butterflies and fairies in this collection. It’s perfect for whimsical and magical themed crafty projects.

For my project, I made this simple card with lots of fussy cutting. I splattered some white glimmer mist before adhering anything for a little bit of sparkle.

I used a polka dots paper from the 6.5 paper pad, cut it into a 1-inch strip and pleated it.

I fussy cut a couple of big floral images from the Moonstone paper and then mounted a die cut from the Collectables pack with foam tape for dimension. I also fussy cut some butterflies and fairies.

I also customized the envelope and the inside of the card with some papers from the 6.5 paper pad.
