Art Foam Sheets Donna Espiritu Stargazer

Stargazer Layout by Donna Espiritu

May 18, 2018

Hello everyone! Donna here with a project using the Stargazer collection.

I knew I wanted to create a scrapbook layout using one of the many photos of my daughter while she’s asleep. I love taking photos of her while she looks like a little angel… coz when once she wakes up, well… you know what happens when our little angels are awake :D

So on to my layout… I turned my photo into black and white so it will blend beautifully with the colors of the Stargazer collection.

The background paper already has dark blue splatters but I still added more using white, black, turquoise and lavender misting sprays. After placing everything I splattered all the misting sprays again with the photo covered so it won’t get any unwanted splatters.

I used the Navy art foam sheet to create the flowers and accentuated them with Ice Blue Rhinestones. It turned out really pretty! Love the contrast of the dark blue flowers and how the rhinestones sparkle. I only used two layers of art foam flowers though compared to the others I did with 3-4 layers. The dark color and the petals already made the flowers look fuller so I kept it with just two layers.

Using foam dots really create depth or dimension to any project. I’ve used it to adhere the doily and photo. As well as some of the Collectables and art foam flowers. I’ve also added word art strips and stickers as the final touch to my layout.

Donna Espiritu Pen and Ink Scrapbooking layout Specialty Papers Tutorials

“Beautiful” Pen & Ink Layout by Donna Espiritu

April 24, 2018

Hello, everyone!
It’s Donna here with you today sharing a scrapbooking layout tutorial using the Pen and Ink collection. I’ve debated between making a card and layout. Of course, the layout won!

So, let’s start with the short step-by-step tutorial:

  1. I started with a white cardstock as the base. I will be trimming an inch off of this white cardstock later as you will see in the next steps. I mounted my photos with some foam tape for a bit of height.

2. To add texture and a bit of color, I used a mixture of black, brown and white metallic mists. I kept on adding white glimmer mist until it mixed beautifully with the brown and black mists. Using a heat tool, I dried the splatters before adding modeling paste with a spatula and stencil.

3. I placed a doily underneath the photo before adhering with glue.

4. I fussy cut a lot of images from one of the Pen & Ink specialty paper. I love how vibrant the black images are against the soft sepia tones of the papers in the collection.

5. As mentioned earlier, I trimmed an inch off the white cardstock. Then, I adhered it on the Lacey patterned paper.

6. I started embellishing after this with the Collectables and the rest of the fussy cut images from the specialty paper, Antiques.

7. For the final touch, I scattered black rhinestones following the diagonal flow of the page design.

Here are more detailed shots of the finished layout

I tucked in some wood flourishes and left them as is for a bit of color contrast.

I mounted some of the ephemera pieces with foam tape for dimension.

That’s all for now. I hope you liked my project! Do leave a comment if you have any questions regarding today’s project.

Thank you so much for dropping by and see you with a new project in a few days.

Happy crafting,

Donna

Card Making Donna Espiritu Fairy Garden

“Make Your Own Magic” ~ Fairy Garden Card

March 19, 2018

Hello! Donna here sharing today’s project using the beautiful Fairy Garden collection. I love the soft pastel colors, florals, butterflies and fairies in this collection. It’s perfect for whimsical and magical themed crafty projects.

For my project, I made this simple card with lots of fussy cutting. I splattered some white glimmer mist before adhering anything for a little bit of sparkle.

I used a polka dots paper from the 6.5 paper pad, cut it into a 1-inch strip and pleated it.

I fussy cut a couple of big floral images from the Moonstone paper and then mounted a die cut from the Collectables pack with foam tape for dimension. I also fussy cut some butterflies and fairies.

I also customized the envelope and the inside of the card with some papers from the 6.5 paper pad.

Beach Shack Donna Espiritu Scrapbooking layout

“Bliss” Scrapbooking Layout by Donna Espiritu

February 19, 2018

Hello everyone. Donna here sharing a scrapbooking layout using the Beach Shack collection

I also used the Wooden Flourishes and Decorative Dies that coordinates with the collection.

Flourish Pack Beach 35pcs

Decorative Die – Porthole

I don’t have much beach photos or I should rather say, no beach photos at all. But I remembered my dear friend took this photo of me and my family two years ago when we went to Al Wajh, Saudi Arabia. One of the oldest coastal city in north-western Saudi Arabia, situated on the coast of the Red Sea.

I printed two photos and placed it side by side like so. I mounted these with foam tapes for a bit of dimension.

I used one of the specialty papers in the Beach Shack collection as background. Then I brushed a combination of blue, teal, brown and black watercolors. Then magic happens as beautiful patterns in the paper are revealed.

I layered lots of die cuts or collectables underneath and around the two photos. The embellishment is a mixture of paper and wooden flourishes. I also used one paper from the 6 1/2 paper pad that has a wonderful shimmer to it. It’s difficult to capture but the shimmer is beautiful.

I added a thin, brown hemp afterward. I thought the layout needed something to contrast the blueish tone of the page. I placed the brown hemp underneath the photos and the embellishments.

This is quite a simple layout to make and I’m sure you can recreate this as well.

Documented Donna Espiritu Scrapbooking layout Tuesday Tutorials Tutorial Tuesday Tutorials

“Moment Captured” Scrapbook Layout by Donna Espiritu

January 23, 2018

Hello, everyone! It’s Donna here sharing a scrapbook layout I created using the Documented collection

I also incorporated a few Wooden Flourish pieces from different packs to embellish my scrapbooking project today

Provincial

Bouquet

Garden

Here is my finished layout

I splattered a water-diluted white acrylic paint, some brown mists and watercolor to create the background

I first splattered the white acrylic paint followed by the brown watercolor. I let it sit for a few minutes before splattering the brown mist. I repeated this several times until I achieved the look I wanted

I preferred to leave the wooden flourishes bare/as is. I just added some pearls in the center.

The title is several layers of file I cut using an electronic cutting machine. A fine-tipped glue applicator is great to help for easy application of adhesive to small/tiny or intricate details.

To finish off the look, I scattered a mix of rhinestones and pearls all over the layout

Thanks for dropping by and I hope you liked my project using the Documented collection.

Happy crafting, xoDonnaxo
