I have for you today a double layout using the brand new papers from the Q4 collection: Utopia. I really love the colour palette in this one, and I think it could easily be used for a lot of different themes. There are lots of elements in the papers that lend themselves beautifully to some hand cutting.
Since the patterned elements that I chose to use are quite intricate in their design, I made sure that I used a fairly plain background paper to offset it, so that my layout wouldn’t look too cluttered. I could probably have fit my photos reasonably easily onto a single layout, but by stretching them across a double spread, I could stretch all the elements out leaving some unused negative space, which also helped to balance out the bold patterns. Putting so much into the one layout would probably have been a little bit overwhelming.
I couldn’t find the right rubon, or text for my “Sweet”section of th title, so I just handwrote it, went over it in blue pen, then again using some kindy glitz. All of the flowers have been either layered with foam tape, or folded and shaped to give my layout lots of dimension.
Layout by Alicia Barry. Materials used: Utopia patterned papers, paper pad, Kaisercraft chipboard letters, Kaisercraft alphabet stickers, Kaisercraft rhinestones, Kindy glitz.
