Book Cards with Collette

January 16, 2016

Hi there everyone!

I am so lucky to have the opportunity to show you how to make these wonderful cards – beautiful on the front and explosive inside!

They never fail to impress and if you follow my video, (you will find the link at the end of this post) I am sure you will absolutely love making them……

go on, have a go!

For my first card, I have used the lovely palette of soft greens, blues and yellow …..  #ME Collection.

This is the front of the book card decorated with papers from the #Me collection. The Damask Border is a glorious decorative die just released by Kaisercraft, I have cut two out and stuck them on top of each other to create extra depth and dimension.

This is the ‘explosive’ inside! As you open it up, it pops out just like a book … hence it’s name. Did you spot that sparkly glitter tape that I put down the sides …  just beautiful!

Kaisercraft Products Used: #Me Collection: P2034 Confidence | P2041 Dreams | P2037 Strength | CT848 Collectables | CS248 Clear Stamps | DD355 Decorative Die Damask Border | PP989 Paper Pad | PT228 Glitter Tape | CD170 Kaisercard Robins Egg | CD117 Kaisercard Olive | CD650 Kaisercard White | CD101 Kaisercard Licorice | IP719 Ink Pad Black| F633 Olive Paper Blooms.

For my second card I have used the subtle colour palette of the ‘True Love’ collection for a very special Valentines Day Card.

This beautiful picture was cut from P2032 Patterned Paper, it was so very pretty that I did not need to do much. The addition of some tulle, a fancy pin, some sequins and flower added dimension.

…and the inside!

Kaisercraft Products Used: ‘ True Love’ Collection: P2032 My Dearest | P2025 My Love | P2031 My Precious | P2033 My Soulmate | CD118 Kaisercard Fern | CD650 Kaisercard White | F636 Paper Blooms Ruby.

Other Products Used: Tulle | Fancy pin | Sequins.

I hope you have enjoyed this post.

If you do make these ‘Book’ cards, take a happy snap and load it up on Kaisercrafts Facebook page, I would love to see some and please leave a comment below, we all love to know what you think.

Have an AMAZING week!

    Dear Collette,
Thank you for such wonderful cards. I was watching this and thinking of my dear sister Diana. She is in hospital at this time. She is in the process of transitioning from this mortal coil. I was always able to have her with me as we learnt new techniques from you. So tears threatened as I watched this knowing I would not have her with me again. Life is so fragile, and each day we have loved ones around,it is important to tell them we love them. Again, thank you. Card making will be lonely without her.

    • Reply Collette Mitrega January 18, 2016 at 12:19 pm

Elaine, I am so sorry for your pain, brought tears to my eyes too. I agree life is so precious and that it is so important to tell our loved ones we care for them and to treat one another with respect and a smile. I have found papercrafting quite healing as I have lost loved ones. I am sure Diana would want you to continue with something you both enjoyed so much. My thoughts are with you. xx
