“So Blessed”~ Anthology layout by Kylie.

June 21, 2018

Hello friends! Kylie here and this month I am sharing a layout I have created using the divine new Anthology collection.

” An eclectic collage of antique florals and sketched entomological drawings teamed with vintage ephemera and deep warm textures will add a touch of old world charm .”

I couldn’t wait to dive right into these papers, such a lovely range of colours and prints.I really wanted to create a layout, based around my photo that had lots of texture and many layers.

I used both the Lacey Borders and Doillies – Clear Stickers to give a delicate and soft background feature.I liked having them peeping out underneath my focal clusters.

I wanted to have a lot of flowers feature in my layout. I used the large floral cluster from the sticker sheet, down the side of my photo as well as fussy cutting smaller blooms from the Paper Pad. I added these over the top with foam dots giving a multi dimensional effect. I also fussy cut many extra leaves for balance. For contrast in colour I also used the new Honeycomb die as a background to my flowers.

Doing this effectively framed my photo with a nice balance overall. For extra texture and colour I have added some thread as well as some rhinestones. With the leaves I fussy cut, I made sure to curve or fold some of them before adding them underneath my flowers.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my layout today and it inspires you with your own projects!

Until next time,

Kylie.

Memory Lane Inspiration with Kylie Kingham

May 8, 2018

With an inviting colour palette and lovely floral undertones, the new Memory Lane collection is a must.

I really wanted to take hold of the floral theme and create a layout which was soft and full of dimension.

I couldn’t resist incorporating the die cut page ‘Shutters’ into the background.I cut it down to size and found it gave a nice balance to the overall finish.

There are many lovely flowers included in the collectables. I decided I wanted a few more and fussy cut some from the Misty Rose paper.

I kept layering the flowers with foam tape to build a cluster supporting the shutter frame. I kept going until I was happy with the balance. The wooden flourishes also added a lovely detail to the clusters.

Using the Jade Jewel paper and Spring Breeze (reversed),  I cut lots of vines, leaves and flourishes. These are great space fillers and the darker tone of them made my layout really pop.

I have also filmed my process for you all to take a look at-

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my layout today. Don’t forget to join the Kaisercraft Corner Facebook group HERE. It”s a great place for sharing your work and gaining lots of inspiration too.

Until next time,

Kylie.

Creating an easy mini tag album.

April 23, 2018

Hello friends!

It’s Kylie with you all today and I’ve been creating with the stunning new ‘Fleur’collection. I loved this collection as soon as I first saw it with its beautiful, broad colour palette and mix of patterns.

I decided to create a mini tag album from it which I love creating. To complete this project you will need-

*Your favourite Kaisercraft paper collection.

*Double sided tape, foam tape and/or glue.

*Scissors and a hole punch.

* 1 x album ring

*Ribbon to decorate the ring

*Tag die – Optional, may be cut free hand.

Not only can they document a favourite memory but tag albums are also great for attaching to a gift. You can also add as many pages as you like and keep adding pages thanks to the metal ring that binds it together. Here is a little look at my completed project.

I used a tag die that I have had in my stash forever (I think it is by Sizzix) to cut each tag but you could also cut them freehand to any size you wish. I have added 5 double sided tags to my album which meant I had to cut 10 tags and I used a different paper for each one.

Once I had cut my tags, to make them more sturdy I sandwiched some coloured card stock in between them and used a punch to add the hole to the top.I made sure to have the card stock a little larger than the tags to give a nice border. You will see how I achieved this in my video featured below.

I have cut apart a lot of the beautiful quote squares from this range to add into my album. They were the perfect fit for each tag.

I also printed some fun wallet size photos and layered the collectables and stickers over them. For texture in the background of some tags I also used some of my favourite dies.

As you can see I have added a photo to one side of the tag and a quote card to the other. When I turn each tag it will have a quote to compliment each photo.

Here is the video I have prepared, sharing my process of creating the album.

I hope you have enjoyed my project today and it inspires you to create an album of your very own.

Until next time,

Kylie xoxo

Dancing with Fairies ~ A layout by Kylie.

March 5, 2018

The soft pastel tones of ‘Fairy Garden’ will inspire you for many a pretty project.Delicate Florals, Butterflies and Fairies are all a part of this beautiful range. I was inspired to create a layout with this range and drew inspiration from the gorgeous prints included.Do you believe in Fairies??……

‘Down beneath the garden path,

Fairies gather to dance and laugh’………

Here is a look at my completed layout-

I’ve combined many different papers for my background and I love the mix of stripes, spots and florals. I back a quote from the sticker sheet with foam tape to add to the sticker border I have also added. It was a perfect descriptive piece for the theme of my overall layout.

I’ve layered lots of collectables to balance my photo and I have also added some delicate vines from the 3D flower die set. These are a great space filler and can add wonderful texture to your layout.

A close up showing some of the gorgeous collectables from the range. The cute little Fairies are a favourite.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing the layout I have shared with you all today. ‘Fairy Garden’ is set to be a very popular collection, perfect for creating many wonderful projects for the little girls in your life.

Until next time,

Kylie.

Tutorial Tuesday- “Love Blooms” layout with Kylie. Video included.

February 20, 2018

The lovely colour palette and paper prints of Miss Betty had me totally swooning this month. A truly lovely collection! Today I will share how I created my layout featuring lots of paper layers and some die cut flowers. I’ve prepared a process video for you all but before we begin though, let me show you my completed work-

There were so many pretty papers to choose from with the choice of floral, wood grain and fabric print just to name a few.It made my background paper choice hard to decide on!

To begin my layout I cut some length from my backing paper THREAD (reversed). This is probably the only element of my layout that I used precise measurements. I began by cutting 1″ (2.5cm) from top and bottom of my page.Keep both strips, and proceed to cut another 1cm (10mm) from both top and bottom again. Both these smaller strips can be discarded.

Next I cut two 2″ (5cm) strips from ‘SEWN’ .

From here it was a matter of reconstructing my backing paper. I had distressed some edges a little to give texture before doing so.

As you will see in my video I have incorporated three different papers through the middle of my layout. I did not use specific measurements for these and preferred to go by cutting by eye and what fitted best. Once I had backed my photo and laid everything in place I lightly marked everything with pencil so I could get it back in place after using some stamps in the background. This can be a really helpful tip for work where you include mixed media of some form.

Here is a look at my full process video.I hope you enjoy.

I was super happy with the layered element my paper flowers added to my layout, and the wooden flourish button were perfect as a cute centre. The extra leaves I punched also give a nice extra texture too.

A close up of the stamps I used in my background. I think these will become a favourite as I just love the design of them.

I hope you have enjoyed my project today and it inspires you in your own scrapbooking. Don’t forget to join the Kaisercraft Facebook group HERE to share your work and find lots more inspiration.

Until next time,

Kylie.
