‘Havana Nights’ ~ A layout by Kylie.

January 8, 2018

Happy New Year everyone! Today I am sharing a layout I have created with the new Havana Nights collection. This collection has a Summery vibe with fun splashes of colour.

Here is a look at my completed layout……

I have used the specialty die cut page, ‘Bamboo’, and backed some of the slots with paper from the paper pad.

I used plain white card stock as my base paper as I really wanted the specialty paper to stand out. I adhered it to the base paper with foam tape and dots to give it a raised appearance.

I have used the lovely greenery sticker from the sticker sheet as a border down the left side of my page. (To tell the truth I actually used two but it would still look fine with only one, I just wanted extra leaves!) I also used two of the smaller floral design sticker borders too.I think it gave a nice dimension to my layout.

Tucked away under my photo you will see some flowers cut from the Hanami Flowers die.I cut three seperate lots and curved them around, underneath my photo.

as soon as I saw this quote i knew it was perfect for my photo. It was at the base of the ‘Tropic’ paper sheet.I have cut it apart for balance before adding it to my layout.

To finish I added some blooms from the collectables as well as a larger bloom I fussy cut from the ‘Tropic’ paper. I used foam dots on some to raise them to give more dimension.

I hope my layout has given you some inspiration today to create your own unique pieces.

Until next time,

‘Happy Days’~A layout featuring Wandering Ivy with Kylie.

December 6, 2017

Hello sweet friends! Kylie back today sharing a layout I have created featuring the new ‘Wandering Ivy’ collection.I really love all the floral and greenery inclusions to this range and had no trouble finding inspiration to create with it.

Here is a look at my completed layout.I really wanted to take on a Shabby Chic vibe with lots of layering and hints of the greenery showing through…..

For texture, I used my craft knife to cut some slits into my background paper.I then used my scissors to carefully distress the edges a little before adding another paper print behind each slit for contrast.I have folded the opening back a little as well and love the extra little splash of colour this added to my layout also.

Next I set about fussy cutting lots of flowers from the P2433 Blue Fields paper.I made sure to include lots of varying sizes.

I then stamped some vellum with the smaller flower from the clear stamps and embossed them with a mix of silver and white embossing powder.I fussy cut those  out as I wanted to add them with my other flowers to break the colour a little and to give extra texture and dimension.I loved how these turned out!

For balance I used the Provincial Flourish die as leaves…..(OMG this die is a new fave by the way!!) I cut them from the P2436 Archives paper.

I also added some vines cut from using the 3D flower die. They may be tiny but they really do add a great effect to your finished project.

Can I now take a moment to talk about the sticker sheet?? When I first saw it I just wanted to use it all!! From decorative lace strips to floral borders.Ugh! The choices! I trimmed down the large floral border and added it in under my image.I then also trim down the vines and added it over my image.

I finished off this cluster with a cute tag from the collectables.

These colours are just amazing!

I hope you have enjoyed reading about my layout today.Until next time,

Rose Avenue Canvas ~ Video included with Kylie.

October 9, 2017

Hello Kaisercrafters, Kylie with you today sharing a pretty canvas I have created using the new Rose Avenue collection. This collection has a lovely ‘Shabby Chic’ vibe to it with lots of pastel florals included.

I decided I really wanted to create a canvas combining many elements from the range. Here is a little look at my completed work.

I chose a very neat sized canvas measuring 20cm x 20cm (8″ x 8″). I have blended lots of the collectables as well as wooden flourishes for my completed effect.

I have painted and the ‘white washed’ the edges of my canvas before taking the template with modeling paste over the edge. You will see how I did this in my video at the end of my post.

It’s Spring here in Australia at the moment so these colours and flowers were a perfect match!

I have framed my canvas by using a string of pearls which also fits the Shabby Chic theme also.

I have prepared a short process video of how I created my canvas for you to enjoy-

Until next time,

Create layered tags with Kylie.

October 7, 2017

Today I am sharing how to make some really pretty tags using the exact same design sketch, but with different embellishments. This design technique is great for when you are wanting to create several cards or tags all at once.

For my tags I am using the stunning new ‘Romantique’ collection.

This is a really pretty collection with soft ,delicate pastels. Here is a little look at my completed tags-

As you can see the design of each tag is the same, but by intermixing paper blends and embellishments they can be made each uniquely different.

Rugged edges and using foam tape for height help achieve an overall ‘Shabby Chic’ vibe.

Gift tags can be used in an array of projects as well, such as your scrapbook layouts and planning.

Here I cut one of the frames from the collectables in half as an added design feature and for balance to my tag.

I have also included some vines cut from the decorative die DD795 3D Flower. I use this quite a lot in my projects as I love the fine detail it adds.

I have also prepared a video tutorial for you today so you can watch the process of me creating them as well.

I hope you all enjoyed my post today and it inspires you to try some for yourself.

Until next time-

Kylie xo
