Strike up some contrast

Hi there

It is Vicki here again to share with you a little gift pack of cards I have made using Chapter One.

Nothing is more striking than a bold contrast – so with that in mind I selected the gorgeous velvet black and white spotted paper from Chapter Ones Paper Pad and teamed it with the green spots to make these cards.

Thinking what a great little set this was I then bound them together with a ribbon all ready for gift to a friend.

Making sure I made some envelopes to match the cards using the Chapter One clear stamps.

A gift of Chapter One

Hi, Kerryn with you again today.  I enjoy making gifts for family members but when it comes to grandparents it can be extremely difficult coming up with something that they can actually make use of.

However, one thing that most grandparents never tire of is updated photos of their grandchildren and Kaisercraft have a great variety of photo frames available so that the new photos can be presented in an extra special way.

I have combined the new Filmstrip frame with the ever so gorgeous Chapter One collection to make an extra special one of a kind frame for my Nana for her birthday.

The photos were taken on a recent family holiday to the Gold Coast and work really well with the colours of Chapter One.

The frame was painted all over with 2 coats of white paint.  Using a sea sponge, Sea Breeze paint was sponged all over.  Once this had completely dried, a small amount of Lime paint was sponged at random around the frame.  By using the sea sponge to apply the Sea Breeze and Lime paint, the colours have mixed together nicely rather than having large blobs of colour.

I continued the two tone colour on both the wooden flourishes and the paper blooms.  I applied glimmermist to the blooms with a paintbrush because I still wanted touches of white to show through.

To give me more flexibility with placement, the butterfly stickers were adhered to paper and fussy cut before being adhered to the frame.

Hopefully my Nana will like it :) .

The Circus is in town!!

Well…usually in my house, the Circus is in town everyday! And who better to run the Circus than my very own Ring Master! :D

“Ring Master”by Leanne Allinson: Party Animals collection – hooray (p662), woo hoo (p663); 6.5″ paper pad (pp842); ink – sepia (ip709), black (ip707), antique blue (ip716); paint – yellow deep (kc006); alpha stickers – black (as226).  Other – foam tape, black pen, glimmermist, twine.

The “Party Animals” collection is such fun and playful way to scrap the silly antics my children get up to everyday.

I have layered strips of patterned paper from the 6.5″ paper pad, to imitate the circus tents and then layered them with the fussy cutting of a circus tent image (also found in the paper pad).  I love the boldness of the yellow and orange together.

The balancing lions continues with my circus theme but I hardly had to look far for this idea, as this paper collection has wonderful images of clever little animals already performing this type of act!

________

Like Leanne, I find that there are not many days in our house where the home does not resemble a circus!

Those silly antics Leanne talks about – although a regular thing in our house, I find it a challenge in itself to capture those silly antics to print!

The “Party Animals” range is just a perfect fit for the cute, crazy and funny photos we have managed to capture – like this photo of my daughter taking a drink from the garden hose!

Cards for Party Animals!

How easy is it to create fun and imaginative birthday cards from the “Party Animals” collection?  Well, it is really easy!  And you can have heaps of fun along the way!

Here’s a few ideas to share with you….

“2″ card by Leanne Allinson: Party Animals collection – 6.5″ paper pad (pp842); ink – sepia (ip709), antique blue (ip716); grosgrain ribbon – sunset; rhinestone strip – lime (rs455); alpha stickers – tangerine (as223).  Other – machine stitching, foam tape.

Vicki says “With three kiddies in the house there is always a birthday party or an event on the horizon.

With this in mind I thought of creating a few cards which can be quickly altered for someones birthday or for any other fun event which pops up on the calender.

The “Party Animals” range is just so bright and fun.  I found that the papers, together with the little quotes, were just perfect for these cards”

And who would not like to receive a card with all this cuteness on it!’
