Pages, With Velvet Ensemble

The Velvet Ensemble collection provide gorgeously rich colors and designs that co-ordinate with so many different types of photographs! The reds, greens, beiges and black all combine to make a collection which feels luxurious and sophisticated, yet still suitable for pages about what seems to be  our most popular scrapping subjects…our kids!

Kirsty:I just loved the touches of red in this collection. They added a real *wow* factor to the patterns and papers.

Kirsty Piper: My Precious Gift: Velvet Ensemble Collection; Matinee(P672), Costume(P674), Opera(P677), Theatre(PS151), Rubons(RB921), 6 1/2″ Paper Pad(PP844), Journal Tags(JT620), Printed Chipboard(CB128), Sticker Sheet(SS103) KaiserCraft Other: Grosgrain Ribbon: Lovely(RI605),  Rubons: Family(RB910), Pearl Brads: Pearl(EM930), Chipboard Alpha: Small L.C. letters-raw(CB101), Mini Alphas: Cherry Red(MA508). Other: Fabric

After hunting through my stash, I couldn’t find a matching flower! So, I made my own from an old chiffon bridesmaid wrap and a candle ;)

The sticker sheet in this collection has such cute, eclectic little pictures and embellishments! The perfect finishing touch for any LO :)

Tuesday Tip: Flower Vines

Flower Vines By Karen Shady

Materials required:
1 pack of Kaisercraft paper blooms (must have wire stems).
Paper leaves with wire stems
Florist wire, florist tape, skewer, wire cutters.

1.    You need to have all your supplies ready, and on hand before beginning this project.

2.    Take 3 pieces of florist wire approximately 10-15cm in length, and wrap the top half of each around the skewer to form the tendrils.

3.    Begin with one of your tendrils, just below where the spiral stops, place the start of the florist tape, on a slight angle, and begin to twist it around the wire

4.    After a few twists, introduce one of the flowers, and repeat the twisting until the flower is secure, then add a leaf.  TIP: stretch the florist tape slightly while twisting, it will hold better on the wire

5.    Repeat this process, adding leaves, flowers and tendrils until happy with the overall look. Continue the florist tape to the end of the wire, and cut the end.

Some Thrifty Wall Decorating!

Kirsty: I have many blank walls in my house that I am trying slowly to fill. My goal is to have one wall entirely filled with letter ‘P’s, to represent our surname Piper.

Its going pretty slowly. lol

This month’s release of Velvet Ensemble, enabled me to thriftily add two more ‘P’s to my display, and it was so very very easy!

Step 1. Take the medium KaiserCraft MDF letter of your choice (mine was SB 316)

Step2. Trace around your MDF letter onto some Cardstock. Cut it out.

Step 3. Hot glue gun a ton of buttons onto your Cardstock letter. hopefully you manage to salvage more of your fingerprints than I did…OUCH!

Step 4. Spray paint your frame  and the MDF letter glossy black, mount your buttoned letter onto some gorgeous Velvet Ensemble Patterned Paper (I used my fave from this collection – Costume(P674)

Then hang your TWO completed monograms onto your wall!

(Please excuse the darkish photos, my ‘P’ wall is in a very very dark room)

:)

Introducing Pink Gelato!

Hey there! This week Nerrida, Monika and Kirsty are going to be introducing you to two brand new gorgeous collections! Pink Gelato, and Velvet ensemble :)

Kirsty: The soft pastel shades in the Pink Gelato collection were absolutely perfect for scrapping these precious photos of my mum! I had tried a few times to use these photos, but something about the colours was hard to match with patterned papers. I love how the Pink Gelato collection co-ordinated, yet didn’t take away from the photos.

Kirsty Piper: Layout: Pink Gelato- Honey Dew(P684), Strawberry(P683), 6 1/2″ Paper Pad(PP845), Sticker Sheet(SS104), Printed Chipboard(CB129) Rubons(RB922), Pearls; Bliss(SB718),  Crochet Doilie; White, Scallop(EM945)

I really love how the Rub-ons with this collection are just so so soft and pretty!

And those new sticker sheets???? Oh man! You have GOT to get some of these! So handy!

Monika: I´m in love with the soft and pale colors of the Pink Gelato Collection. In my opinion this collection is perfect for any type of photos.

I made my photo black and white but I left my daughters face in color. The dark beige adds a bit of contrast to this layout.

I totally agree with Kirsty on the sticker sheets, they are gorgeous and handy!

Love these crochet doilies!

I´ve layered lots of different elements here, cut outs from the Watermelon paper, printed chipboard, journal tag and die cuts from the paper pad.

Items used: P679 Watermelon, P681 Pink Grapefruit, CB129 Printed Chipboard, JT621 Mini Journal Tags Various Diecut Shapes, SS104 Sticker Sheet, PP845 Paper Pad, Crochet doilies EM951 Vintage, Pearl brads EM932 Pink Ice

Other: Flowers, chipboard frame

* * * * * *

Nerrida: With these colours, I found that I wanted to add another colour in, and in this layout, it was gold, using the Kaiser gold paint, scraped on with a credit card, as a background.

‘Alita’ by Nerrida MitchellMaterials:  Pink Gelato ‘Watermelon’ paper (P679), Pink Gelato sticker sheet (SS104), Lace pack – white (EM926), Paper blooms – buttercream (F629), Champagne pearls (SB714),  Kaiser gold paint (KC01), Other: Martha Stewart doily lace punch, large flower, Prima Emminence flower, Basic Grey Mini mono letters – Marjolaine, American Crafts cardstock thickers – Sunset.
