Precious Lullaby

Hello!

Kerryn, Kirsty and Trudi here.

We have been creating with the sweet as can be Lullaby Collection.  This collection is perfect for scrapping our most precious memories and special moments.

Today we are sharing both colour options of the Lullaby collection and have  2 layouts and an altered’ ‘Bracket Frame’ to share with you.

Kerryn shows us  the baby blue option of Lullaby and has combined it with some Kaisercraft Timeless Magic to come up with a layout to ‘treasure’.

Trudi  shows us the soft baby pink option of Lullaby and has altered a ‘Bracket Frame’ to come up with a this special ‘love’ tribute to her two girls.

Love is a moment that lasts forever

Trudi Says: The Lullaby pink is so soft and pretty.  It is well suited for a shabby, romantic ‘girly’ look.

I painted the edges white and covered the front of the frame with ‘Bundle Of Joy’ patterned paper.  I found that by tracing around the Specialty Paper Die Cut provided the perfect size match for covering the front.

I have added a splash of colour with  Paper Blooms, Flutterby’s, Ribbon and a  of cardstock.

A touch of elegance has been added with a Chandelier Wood Flourish.  I painted it white then gave it a coat of Kindy Glitz ‘Crystallina’ to add some sparkle.

Altered Bracket Frame byTrudi Harrison.  Materials Used: Lullaby Collection Patterned Papers – P649 Bundle Of Joy, P651 Welcome Home, PP841 Paper Pad, B/W Rub-Ons – In Love RB197, Flutterby’s –  Magical , Paper Blooms –  F631, F639, F640 & F643, Wood Flourishes – Chandelier FL323,  Pearl Flourishes – PL515 Decorative Pearl, Rhinestone Strips – Pink, Organza Ribbon- ,  Bracket Frame Album SB2101, Chanteuse Paper Pad PP840.  Other: Cardstock, Border Punch, Kindy Glitz, Paint,  1 x Rose, Rose Ribbon

Kirsty also shows us again the soft baby blue option of Lullaby.

Kirsty says: The beautiful soft blues in this collection immediately made me want to dig out all of my favorite baby photos and scrap! One particular photo of my youngest little boy caught my eye. He was one hour old and we were completely smitten….

Kirsty Piper: One Hour: Lullaby Collection; Specialty Paper(PS144), Hush Little Baby(P646) Die Cut Elements(DC338), Kaisercraft Other; PaperBlooms Iceberg(F630), Rubons Newborn(RB913), Pearls Champagne(SB714) Chipboard Alpha #1(CB107) Other-mini blooms and leaves:ebay, Kindyglitz.

I really love adding bling and flourishes to my pages, but this page seemed too soft for a bold flourish…to add just the right amount of bling, I cut into the pre printed flourishes on the specialty paper, added some Kindyglitz and a few sprinkles of pearls and was done! I liked the subtle effect it gave :)

Are you just itching to go and scrap some soft pastel LOs now??

Taking it easel!

Hello!

Kerryn here sharing a set of easel cards that I have made with the Lullaby Collection.

Easel cards are a fun variation to the standard card.  They are easy to make too!!  These easel cards are 4×4 inches so I was able to make the 3 cards from the one piece of cardstock.

I have used some fabulous wooden flourishes on each of the cards.  The nappy pins were simply coated with crackle medium and once dry the edges were inked with distress ink.

As with the boy card, the girl card also uses the nappy pins.  But this time some pink organza ribbon was added for a nice soft girly touch.

When looking at the Lullaby collection it is easy to see them as either boy or girl but they actually work surprisingly well together.

By using both colours in the range and adding in a touch of yellow and brown, this card is suitable to use for either a boy or a girl.

Tuesday Tip – Decorating Wooden Flourishes

Decorating Kaisercraft’s Wooden Flourishes

By Camilla Ekman

Since Kaisercraft has released so many beautiful wooden flourishes I wanted to share a tip about how to alter them.

Paint the piece in acrylic paint, just a thin layer. Let it dry.

Choose one of the gorgeous Kaisercraft clear stamps and use a clear embossing stamp pad. Stamp onto the painted wooden piece.

Quickly pour embossing powder over the wooden piece. Remove all the excessive powder by tapping the wooden piece against the table.

Now use a embossing heat gun to make the powder melt.

Here is my finished wooden flourish. I have inked it a bit.

Chanteuse Happiness

Hello!!

Kerryn, Trudi and Kirsty are signing in this week.

Today we have an altered ‘Twelve Frame Photo Display’,’ and 2 layouts to share showcasing the gorgeous Chanteuse Collection.

‘Mother Display Frame’ by Kerryn Lawson

Kerryn : I love all the fabulous quotes that are part of the Chanteuse collection.  With Mothers Day fast approaching I decided I would alter the Twelve Frame Photo Display as a bit of a reminder of how much Mum means to us.  I have added lots of flowers, flourishes, birds and butterflies.   Hopefully every time she looks at it, it will bring a smile to her face.

Trudi:  The Chanteuse Collection is a delightful mix of shabby vintage loveliness.  I couldn’t resist the gorgeous floral blooms and the ornate elements.

For my layout ‘Happiness’, I was inspired to come out from behind the camera for this one and have created a little ‘inner self’ layout dedicated to me.

Layout – ‘Happiness’ by Trudi Harrison

The Chanteuse Patterned Paper ‘Staccato’ was perfect for fussy cutting.  Floral images have been cut out and layered with printed chipboard elements.

In the Paper Pad there is a gorgeous foiled page of frames.  I have cut out one and slipped this behind the photo along with a gorgeous set of ‘Iron Gate’ wood flourishes.

Kirsty: My first thoughts, especially when seeing the gorgeous Marcato Paper, was of my extended family, and how much fun it is when we all get together :)

I found this photo of us from 3 Christmases ago. My mum used to harass us all together for a family portrait every time we got together…and yep, even as adults we whined and whinged and complained lol. I am forever grateful now that she has gone, that she bullied us each time, and that I am left with these lovely family photos.

Kirsty Piper: Family Is Forever: Chanteuse Collection- Soprano(P642), Vivo(P640), Marcarto(P643), Tremolo(P639) Printed Chipboard(CB125), Die Cut Elements(DC337), Colored Rubons(RB900) Kisercraft Other- Chipboard Alphas #1(CB107), Pearl Strip Chocolate(PL504), Mini Crochet Doilies(EM952) Wooden Flourishes bird cage.

The flowers in the Staccato paper just beg to be cut out and layered :) And the Printed Chipboard adds just the right amount of dimension to my little cluster of flowers.

This collection is just gorgeous. Perfect for so many different scrapping subjects!

Each day is a gift…

As soon as I laid eyes on this frame I was lost, in love, full of admiration and ideas!  But as much as I loved the shape and the pictures I had in my mind of how it could look, it also scared me!

When I get beautiful things like this, it takes a while for me to work up the courage to actually start doing anything with it, I´m always scared that I might ruin it. With this frame I had to tell myself over and over again that if I fail, I can always re do it! Finally I was convinced and I went to work.

And now… Well, it´s hanging on my kitchen wall and it looks amazing. I see it each time we sit down to eat and I read the words on it again and again. It sais; “Each day is a gift, not a given right”, words from one of my favorite songs right now, “If tomorrow was your last day” with Nickleback.
