Wooden Flourish week – Projects

Hey there! It’s wooden flourish week here at Kaisercraft!

We’ve already featured both cards and layouts this week, and today it’s projects!

DOOR HANGER – LEANNE ALLINSON

“The “Timeless” patterned paper collection instantly reminded me of a place of study but I wanted to enhance the theme even more with the gorgeous wooden flourishes. I’ve added the “elm tree” to represent the tree of knowledge and the “key hole/lock” to show the unlocking of that knowledge. Now all I need to go go with this theme, is a willing recipient to complete their homework”!

“Study” door hanger by Leanne Allinson: world map (p657), script (p656); wooden flourishes – locks and hinges (fl330), elm tree (fl327); rub-ons – rewind (rb836); foam tape (t303); kaiser paint – raw umber (kc032); door hanger (w041); mini alpha stickers – white and chocolate (ma504). Other: ink; string; wood glue; glimmermist.

GIFT SET – CAMILLA EKMAN

“The wooden flourishes can be used for more than layouts and cards. Here I have made a gift for a friend. I bought her a flower and made a card and to spice up the flower I used a butterfly wooden flourish that I had painted in white and put some crackle accent on”.

Gift set – Camilla Ekman: Paper Pad – Nan’s Favourites (PP836); Wooden flourishes – Butterfly (FL339); Paper Blooms – Buttercream (F629); Paper Tags & Shapes – Manilla (EM924); Mini Clear Stamps – Friends (CS920) Other: border punch, leaves, white paint, crackle accent.

MEMORY BOX – KIRSTY PIPER

“I absolutely LOVE these wooden flourishes! I love how they are so versatile…I have painted and created a crackle effect on this project, but I also love to ink them and even leave them plain. I have used the Flourish Vine on my memory box, but cut it into three pieces so that it can be seen on three seperate sides. This helps draw the eyes of the person looking at the project to the next side”.

Kirsty Piper: Memory Box: Timeless Collection - Sheet Music(P653), Dress Form(P655), Script(P656), Wooden Flourishes- Vine(FL328), Adore and Forever(FL320), Locks and Hinges(FL330). Large Cube(SB2100), Rub Ons Childhood(RB914), Paper Blooms- Ruby (F636), Terracotta(F635) Buttercream(F629). Paint Mud Puddle(KC048).

Wooden Flourish Week: Cards

Wooden Floruish Week: Cards

Did you catch our blog post earlier this week featuring Kaisercraft’s Wooden Flourishes on some of our Design Team member’s layouts? If so, check them out now!

Card by Lesley Cooper

“With the wooden flourish I have coloured it in used a black marker pen. I have then put a thin layer (with my finger) of glossy accents over top to make it slightly glossy. I have then glued the butterfly to patterned paper and then cut it out. I have used foam tape to attach it to the card”.

Card by Lesley Cooper : Material List: Wooden Flourishes Butterfly (FL339); Bubblegum Hills Collection Paper Pad (PP839); Mini Clear Stamps Thank You (CS923); Other: glossy accents; cardstock, butterfly punch.

Card by Nerrida Mitchell

To make this card, I cut small squares of paper to fit evenly on the card, then glued them down to a base of cardstock just slightly smaller than the card size.  Glue the dressform on, then glue two pieces of plain twill tucked behind the edges of the cardstock, and when they are dry, tie them in a bow incorporating a string bow as well. Glue the rose on top and glue the flowers shown by tucking them underneath. The butterfly was made with a punch.

Mum card by Nerrida Mitchell: Materials – Bubblegum hills 6″ paper pad (PP839), Wooden flourish – dressform (FL321), Paper blooms – Dusty pink (F641), Paper flowers – cream (F602), Baby pink (F607) & Blue ice (F615), Cleat tag stamps & matching tag (CS760).

Card by Kerryn Lawson

“The thing I love about the Kaisercraft wooden flourishes is just how easy it is to alter them.  This ever so cute fairy castle has been coated with 2 different inks before a coat of gloss varnish was applied.  While it was still wet I sprinkled a bit of glitter over it for a bit of extra sparkle”.

“To create my grass I cut petals off of a paper flower and adhered them along the base of the castle, being careful to only adhere the very bottom edge.  Once it was dry I cut each petal into 2 or 3 strips and was then able to curl them over”.

Card by Kerryn Lawson:Wood flourish – Fairy Castle (FL338), Magic Happens paper pad (PP838), Organza Ribbon – Purple (RI615), Paper flowers – Sweet Pea (F619), Ink – Hot Pink (IP713) & Lilac (IP715), Rhinestone strip – Hot Pink (RS454), Clear stamp – Occasions (CS916), Rhinestones – hot pink (SB702) Other products used : Cardstock, glitter

Wooden Flourish Week – Layouts

This week we’re sharing some projects featuring Kaisercraft’s range of Wooden Flourishes.

Not sure what these are?

Kaisercraft pioneered these fantastic wooden embellishments. They’re made of super thin plywood that you can use on your scapbook pages, off the page projects, cards and more! Leave them like they are or mist them, paint them, ink them and more!

Here’s just a few of our most popular designs:

FL342 Funky Butterflies

FL302 Birdcages

FL335 Mannequins

Today we’re looking at some layouts using some of our wooden flourishes:

Lady Grace, “Gwen” layout:

Using wooden flourishes on layouts and other projects are starting to become a trend at the scrapbook industry. Who can resist these gorgeous embellishments? You can use it raw or add other mediums like paint or sand.

For some part of my wooden flourishes, I have added a dab of crackle paint to add texture to it. I even distressed the edges to enhance the its intricate details.

Simply Cards!

Hi there

It is Vicki here to share with you a few cards I have made with the latest collections from Kaisercraft.

The Bubblegum Hills collection is so vibrant I just had to make some birthday cards using every girls favourites – butterflies, flowers and bling.

and with the rainbow of colours – any little girl is going to love these.

The Nan’s favourites collection is so versatile it can be used outside of the kitchen.

But I think my all time favourite cards are these.

I just love the little sayings that pop up throughout the collections so I have used these as the base of the cards.

This little gem is found in the Bubblegum Hills collection

so I just had to make a card using it!

and this little gem was found in the Nan’s favourites collection
