Embellishments:Kaisercraft – Pearl Flourishes,Kaisercraft – Lace (White), Kaisercraft – Crochet Doilies, Kaisercraft – Wooden Flourishes, Misc ribbon and buttons,Silver inking pen.

And a project from Lesley:

“When I saw the doilies I couldn’t help but think of my Granny who taught me how to crochet”.

“I knew I wanted to do a layout about her. I used glimmer mist on the doilies to change the colour and then added a hat pin with a tag. The wooden flourish shapes are brilliant as embellishments and the words are perfect for titles. I have used UTTEE embossing powder on the heart and then stamped with a clear stamp. I have also used UTTEE on the white Kaisercraft flowers (coloured with glimmermist first and then stamped). The altered flowers have a glassy look to them and look fantastic. I found the tutorial for these here“.

Layout by Lesley Cooper: Materials: Wood Flourishes – Fancy Hearts (FL316),Adore and Forever (FL320); Crochet Doilie (EM949); Flowers (F601); Clear Stamps Secret Bird Society (CS748), After Five (CS766); Other: UTTEE, Distress Ink, Staz On, Versamark, beads, buttons, string, paper doilie strip, cardstock, hat pin, photo corners, glimmer mist, metallic alcohol ink.

Lycka by Monika Martison: Crochet Doilies EM948 Lace – Cream, Wooden  Flourishes Roses FL317, After five papers Black Tie P582 and Top Hat P587, Die Cuts DC329, Pearl brads EM932 Pink Ice, Grosgrain ribbon R1612 Others: Flowers, title letters (my own design).

And a delightfully seasonal Christmas Angel by Kerryn:

“The new Kaisercraft Crochet Doilies are gorgeous and easy to incorporate into any project.  After creating my angel base from cardstock and covering it with punched strips of patterned paper I simply folded a doily over the top of the angel and used some strong glue to hold it in place.

Every angel needs a halo, right?  I cut a circle from a transparency sheet and used pearl strips to form a circle on the top and on the bottom.  Once again strong glue (just a little though!) is used to hold it on top of the angels head.  By using the transparency sheet  it looks almost as though the halo is floating on her head.

The wooden flourishes proved to be a fantastic shape for wings.  A little touch of glitter to make them sparkle before attaching them to the back of the angel”.

Christmas Angel by Kerryn Lawson:Wood flourishes – Border SB721, Crochet Doilies – Scallop Cream (EM946), Tis the Season pp – Ornament (P564), Organza Ribbon – Natural (RI613), Pearl strips – Champagne (PL506), Pearls – Champagne (SB714). Other Products Used;Edge punch, kindyglitz.

And a cute layout from Leanne!

“Layering your embellishments over the doily enhances its ability to be a stand out feature on your layout. Here the doily becomes a little “cloud” for the hot air balloon to rest against. Its contrasting colour to the background patterned paper, draws the eye directly to it and then to the title. To make sure it doesn’t go anywhere, try attaching the doilies to your layout with machine stitching”.

How to Eat TOmato Sauce by Leanne Allinson: “How to eat Tomato sauce” by Leanne Allinson: Up, Up & Away collection – ferris wheel (rev, p541), admit one (ps107); 6” paper pad (pp826); die cut elements (dc322); printed chipboard (cb111); crochet doillie (em948); alpha stickers – brown (as225); mini alphas – chocolate and white (ma503); tiny alphas – chocolate (ma 512). Other : machine stitching; ink; staples.

And last, but certainly not least, a card by the talented Camilla:

Card by Camilla Ekman: Card “Together Forever” – Camilla Ekman: Crochet Doilie (EM947); Wood Flourishes – Fancy Hearts (FL316); Card Pad (CP704); Die Cut Elements – After Five Collection (DC329); Clear Stamps – After Five Collection (CS766); Pearls – Snow (SB794)

Cards After Five Style!

Kirsty says “My sister recently participated in ‘Frocktober’. A month long event that aims to raise funds and awareness for Ovarian Cancer research. In order to thank her supporters, she asked if I would create some cards.

I thought it was the perfect opportunity to play with my After Five goodies and also have a little bit of fun, or as the organisers say, have a ‘frocking good time’!”

Kirsty Piper. Thank you cards. After 5 Collection: 6×6 Paper Pad(PP833), Patterned Paper Top Hat(P587), KaiserCraft Other: Pearl Strip White(PL501), RubOns Forever(RB893 Grosgrain Ribbon Lovely (RI605)). Other – Tulle scraps

Vicki says ” I have only tried card making a couple of times, but with the release of the Kaisercraft card pads I can see I will be attempting card making a lot more!

With the same card design I used several different papers in the range to create a set.

I have now made a congratulations card,

a celebration card,

a thankyou card,

and some simple birthday cards.

My idea was to make a simple set of cards which were gender neutral and can be quickly altered to be more feminine by adding a flower or two.  Add a ribbon around them all and you have a gift set of cards which should cover most situations ”

More Journalling Ideas With After Five

Following the recent death of my mum, I am finding that scrapbooking is incredibly therapeutic. However, a lot of the journalling I am doing on pages about my mum is private, and not something that people flicking through my albums really want to read! I have found that the Journal Tags supplied with each range is perfect for creating little booklets perfect for long, rambly, therapeutic journalling!

Mounting the tags side by side on a strip of cardstock, allowed me to write for as long as I wanted. Perfect for long stories that need to be recorded, or just some good old heartfelt journalling :)

I then folded the mounted tags concertina style, and tied with a ribbon. The journalling is now on my page, if I ever wish to read it again, yet tucked subtly out of the way for people just flicking past.

I also like that journalling this way allows a story to be told without taking up too much space on a page, allowing for the photographs to be the true hero of the project!

KirstyPiper: So Much Left To Tell You: After Five Collection; Patterned Papers- Black Tie(P582), Waltz(P586), Champage Specialty Paper(PS125), RubOns Quotes(RB884), Journal Tags(JT609). KaiserCraft Other; Wood Flourish Keys(FL306), Chip alphas #2(CB108), Doilie Scallop Cream(EM946)

Kaisercraft’s own December Daily

Almost everyone has heard about the infamous ‘December Daily’ album, made popular by Ali Edwards. To read about how it all started in 2008, head to Ali’s post here. This year it’s happening all again and our very own Lady Grace has been kind enough to share her very own December Daily using Kaisercraft products!

Here’s LG herself, “December Daily is an album project that documents the 25 days leading up to Christmas started by Ali Edwards. The key to making this project successful is by starting with the main structure before the month of December arrives. By doing this, it will be easier for you to document the events and enjoy the process despite a busy holiday schedule”.

“The beautiful thing about Kaisercraft’s Christmas Card Pads (not to be confused with 6″ paper pads) is the base is already made for you”.

CP702 Be Merry Card Pad (envelopes or embellishments not included)

“Here, I just combined several pieces of cards and punched 2 holes for the ring binder. I also added some background patterned papers using the 6×6″ paper pads to the inside pages. Now, all I have to do is wait for December and start adding journaling and photos in it. If I need more pages, I will simply add more pieces from the card pads.

“December Daily” by LG Belarmino -  Card Pad ‘Be Merry Collection’ (CP702), Be Merry Paper Pad (PP829), Chipboard (CB114), Die Cuts (DC325) and double sided patterned papers. Others: Alpha and calendar

Are you going to make a December Daily album this year?
