Do the Christmas twist
One of the things that really captured my attention with the Be Merry range were the great neutral colours used throughout the collection. I began to wonder whether it was possible to create a non-Christmas themed layout using this range.
I concentrated on the neutral colours in the range and added a few touches of red to liven things up.
Carefully chosen embellishments complete the layout.

Karen says ” Like Kerryn, I too saw the potential for non-Christmas themed layouts with both of these ranges. I chose to use the “Tis the season ” range for my layout. These photos of my youngest son are so funny. Every time he sees the camera he does this awful “smile”. I have so many photos of him doing it.We now tell him “No Harry, dont smile, just look” I wanted to do this layout to remember this gorgeous age…..

Christmas serviette rings
Hi, today, I thought I would show you how to make your own, handmade serviette rings for your Christmas dinner table this year. These are so simple, and only take a few minutes to make.

materials used: Tis the season patterned papers, Choir (P563), Sleigh (P566), 6×6 paper pad (PP830), Pearls-red (SB795), Pearls-copper ( SB790)
other products: Spellbinders die, glue

I am going to show you how to make the simple serviette rings today.
Begin by making a 18cm x 10cm rectangle using the Choir paper. Score and fold a 1cm edge along one side, as shown below, and place double sided tape along this edge.
Next, on the opposite edge, score and fold a 4.5 cm edge, and attatch to the double sided tape as shown below.
now score and fold both edges, as shown above. Fold the corners of the 2 edges, as you would a present, and stick these down with double sided tape.
Then you simply join both the ends together, and use a strong glue to attatch Tip: I wrapped my serviette ring around an empty toilet roll as they are the perfect size for your serviette rings. Another good idea is to use paper clips to hold it together until the glue dries.
Then you simply add your embellishments, as desired.
HAVE FUN

A card for all Seasons
The range of stamps that Kaisercraft produce is really quite amazing. I love that they have a set of stamps that co-ordinate with every collection released too.
These days it is very rare for me to purchase cards and christmas cards are no exception. For these cards I concentrated on a couple of the fabulous Kaisercraft stamps sets – Tis the Season and Christmas Sentiments.
After stamping the holly branches, I have carefully cut out the stamped image and adhered to my card. For a bit of sparkle, I have used rhinestones for the berries.
I have stamped this cute image from the Christmas Sentiments stamp set straight onto a journal spot.
This stamp would have to be my personal favourite. The detail in the image is stunning.
Next time you are making a card, make sure you check out the fabulous Kaisercraft stamp sets. You are sure to find one to suit any occasion.

Vintage Christmas
You have seen enough of the new Tis the Season collection by now to know how gorgeous it is, right? The gorgeous vintage images, the colours, the patterns…. sigh… I could go on. Instead, how about we show you some more inspiration using this fabulous new collection?
Kerryn says “For this photo of my daughter taken last Christmas, I have concentrated on the brown tones in the collection. I have included red embellishments to give it a lift.”
I have used plenty of paper from the 6×6 paper pad too. I love these mini pads, especially the flocking and foil used on some of the papers. It is really surprising how easy it is to incorporate the 6×6 paper into layouts.

Karen says ” I was drawn to the rich reds and greens in the “Tis the season” range. My photo has a vintage feel to it, and thats where I wanted to go with my layout. I have done alot of distressing and inking to make the papers look “old”. And have used the red “ornament” paper to make my own poinsettias, and used some pearls for the centres.

LG says “I often work with bright and bold colours because that fits my style; very seldom am I attracted to vintage colours and design, but with the ‘Tis the Season collection, it was very easy to work with, and I could incorporate my style into it. I can definitely say I am in love with this line.”
