Hippy Girl

Hi, Nerrida here.  This is one of my new favourite photos of my eldest daughter so I really wanted it to feature on the layout by using the soft-looking papers again with a touch of red highlight.

I used the printed chipboard outer as a stencil and inked over the branch shape then traced around it with a black archival pen.

Pearl Brad and Lace Packs – Round three projects!

Did you miss our previous posts showing awesome creations using our NEW Pearl Brads and Lace Packs?

Head here and here if you missed out!

Today we’ve got another couple of projects…

Altered tin can – Monika Martinson

“I used an old tin can and altered it to keep my Kaisercraft paint in”.

Materials: Lace pack EM928 Natural Shades,  Pearl brads EM934 Ice Green. Secret bird society paper Undercover P548, Paper pad PP827, Journaling tags JT603, Hippy girl Delilah Specialty paper PS112.

Gift Jar by Lesley Cooper

The pearl and lace packs are divine. They are fabulous to create a vintage homemade look.

I have created a ‘Gift in a Jar’. This is a chocolate and macadamia cookie mixture with instructions to make them inside the card.

I cut two different sized circles from calico for the jar cover and the yo-yo flower on the card. The calico I have stamped with the Hippy Girl clear stamps. Fabulous patterned material in an instant! For the flower on top of the jar I layered 3 pieces of lace of contrasting colour and size. I stitched along the edge and gathered it together to create the flower. I then put a paper flower and brad on top to finish it off. With the yo-yo flower I finished it off with one layer of gathered lace and a pearl brad.

“Gift in a Jar” – Lesley Cooper: Lace Packs (EM927, EM928, EM929); Pearl Brads (EM930); Hippy Girl Patterned Paper Harmony (P554); Clear Stamps (CS749);  Rub Ons Birthday Cards (RB811); Paper Flowers (F622, F603)

One more for the road….

Happy Friday everyone. As the week draws to a close,  Karen, LG and Lesley are signing off with a few more projects for you featuring “Hippy girl” and “Secret bird society” collections.

Karen says “This layout is of my Daughter, and one of my boys, play wrestling on Christmas day last year. I have done a few layouts using this gorgeous “Hippy Girl” range, and was left with alot of scraps of paper, but nothing big enough to do a whole layout. So I cut the scraps into strips, and formed my layout that way. Its a great way to use up all those leftovers. You could also use this idea to make cards, using even smaller scraps”.

Layout “laugh” by Karen Shady

materials list: Hippy girl collection, Earth (P550), Sunshine (P551), Melody (P552), Spirit (P553), Luna (P555), Printed chipboard (CB113), Die cut elements (DC324), Rub ons (RB872),printed chipboard (CB110), Alpha stickers-avocado (AS218), other-cardstock, string.

Lesley sneaking in here to add a Secret Bird Society project using the Large Family Tree.  I have used the tree to create a Note / Photo tree by adding some mini pegs.  This way photos and notes can be changed easily. The mini pegs I have covered in pattern paper to blend in with the tree. The tree itself I have collage using small pieces of patterned paper and stamped tissue paper. I have also used rub ons, tape transfers and crackle paint on the collage. The organza ribbon I used as a stylised vine growing on the tree. And I couldnt resist adding a swing made form string and a popsicle stick!

Large Family Tree – Lesley Cooper: Secret Bird Society, Patterned Paper (Mystery PS44, Conceal P549)); Paper Pad (PP827), Mini Journal Tags (JT603); Clear Stamps (CS748); Rub Ons (RB871); Organza Ribbon (RI613, RI618); Large Family Tree (SB2086)

The quote I have printed onto a journaling tag is…. “The tree which moves some to tears of joy is in the eyes of others only a green thing that stands in the way.  Some see Nature all ridicule and deformity, and some scarce see Nature at all.  But to the eyes of the man of imagination, Nature is Imagination itself.”
-  William Blake, 1799, The Letters

And another card from LG:

“I Love You” Card by LG Belarmino – Secret Bird Society 6×6 paper pad (PP827), Kaisercraft Rub-on You and Me (RB803), and buttons from my stash

This card is very easy to do. I have used the 6×6 pad and some buttons and that’s it. I cut a few rectangular strips, handcut the butterfly, punched 2 layers of flowers and arranged them all together.

NEW Pearl & Lace Packs – more projects!

Did you see this post yesterday about our new Pearl Brad’s and Lace Packs?

No, well head there to see some awesome projects featuring these vintage beauties!

Today we’re featuring another three projects from our Design Team.

The first, from Leanne:

“Sugar Rush” layout by Leanne Allinson

Nothing shouts out to me as being more feminine than lace and pearls. So why not use it for that exact purpose! A girly layout! I have combined the La Di Da patterned paper collection with Kaiser’s new Pearl Brads and Lace.

To create a similar look on your page, try pleating a grosgrain ribbon (white) and machine stitch down the middle of its length. Cover the stitching with a pearl strip, but leave a space on the ribbon wide enough for the pearl brad, mounted with a small flower, to push through. Layer the ribbon over a strip of lace and simply adhere to your layout. Very easy, yet quite effective for a girly page!

Materials: La Di Da paper collection – Sing (p475), Hop (reverse, p477); 6” paper pad (pp809); die cut elements (dc311); lace pack – natural (em928); pearl brads – pearl (em930); pearl strip – champagne (pl506); pearls – chino (sb789), pearl (sb713); ribbon – monochrome (ri601); flowers – antique pink (f609); alpha stickers – white (as221); alpha chipboard #2 (cb108); ink – black (ip707); rub-ons – you & me (rb803); foam tape (t303). Other – bazzill cardstock – white; machine stitching; sharpie pen; Martha Stewart butterfly punch.
