“LUSH”ious Layouts
Happy Wednesday!!!
Camilla and LG here sharing some layouts that we did using the lovely Lush Collection
The Lush collection is perfect for those summer photos. Just look at the colours of the papers against the blue sky in the photos. And lush…what’s more perfect to use the collection for than photos of the Fontana di Trevi in Rome? Here I have used both the flower clear stamps (in the corners) and the flower rubons to give more texture to the page.
Layout ”Fontana di Trevi” – Camilla Ekman: Lush papers: Lotus (P533), Maple (P537); rubons; flowers – taupe (F603); Pearls – yellow (SB797); Printed Chipboard (CB110); Clearstamps (CS746); 6”paper pad; alpha stickers – black (AS226)
LG also made a layout using the Lush Collection and here is what she have to say:
“It was really not hard conceptualizing a page using this gorgeous new collection from Kaisercraft. The colors were fun to work with, its not too bright nor too dull. I already made a layout using this photo of my nephew a few months ago but decided to create another one so that I can give it as a gift to him since the photo is perfect for this line.”
Layout ”Remember 2 Always Smile” – LG Belarmino:Kaisercraft Lush Paper Collection, 6″x6″ Paper Pad (PP825), Clear Stamps Bubble Wrap (CS753), Lush Collection (CS746) and Dated (CS724), Lush Printed Chipboard (CB110), Lush Die Cut Elements (DC321), Lush Embellishment Pack (EM919), Alpha Stickers Black (AS226) and Tangerine (AS223), Mini Alpha Stickers Chocolate & White (MA503), and Pearls Chino (SB789).

Tuesday Tip – creating an embossed look on BTP albums
Creating an ‘embossed’ look on wood can be easily achieved with a hot glue gun. This is a fun and very easy technique. And the possibilities are endless!
1. Choose a Kaisercraft wood project to alter. I have used the cover for the Beyond the Page Long Tabbed Journal for this technique. Take the cover (or project you are altering) and a glue gun. Lightly sand the wood surface. Wipe clean.

2. Using the hot glue gun create straight lines to outline the edges of your project. If there is an area you want to keep flat, outline that with glue too. Then using free random movements create squiggles inside the borders. Practise on a piece of cardboard first.

3. When the hot glue has set and cooled. Paint over with Kaisercolour acrylic paint. Make sure you get in close where the glue and wood meet. Allow to dry and repeat with another coat of paint. Allow to dry.

4. Using a dry brush technique brush Kaisercolour metallic gold randomly over the painted surface. Then using Kaisercraft black ink rub randomly over the raised surfaces. Keep playing until you have the effect you are after.

5. Finish your project by adding other embellishments and title as required.
- This is such a fun and easy technique. If you don’t want a random pattern you can draw or copy an image onto your surface and go over that with the hot glue gun. Alternatively you can stamp an image using one of the wonderful Kaisercraft clear stamps and use that as a template. You will need a larger image for this to be most effective.
- Dry brush technique is using a dry brush and a little paint to brush on. Brush on a scrap piece of paper first before applying to your project.

A Mini and a Notebook with Lush
Happy Monday!
Camilla and LG here with some BTP project to share with you all.
The Lush collection has fantastic colours and patterns. As soon as I saw it, I decided to make a mini-album with the papers and all the embellishments that complements the collection. The Long Tabbed Album has these fun tabs which gives the album an interesting shape. Have you noticed that Kaisercraft has a lot of clear stamps? I got an idea for my mini from them. If you look at the cover of my mini, you can see that I have used a stamp from the Memory boxes set. It says: “4 reasons you are totally unique”. I just had to make a mini about my boy!
BTP “Unik” – Camilla Ekman: Long Tabbed Journal (SB2016);Lush papers: Cherry Blossom (P532), Bamboo (P536), Bonzai (P535), Japonica (P534), Maple (P537); clearstamp – grid (CS755); clearstamps – Memoryboxes (CS703); mini alphas – black & white (MA501); embellishment pack – Lush (EM919); printed chipboard – Lush (CB110); 6”paperpad (PP825); rubons (RB867); grosgrain ribbon – ocean (RI609); organza ribbon – red (RI616); wood flourishes – birds (FL304); alpha stickers – powder blue (AS219); flowers – baby blue (F614); rhinestones – orange (SB710)
Using the same Long Tabbed Journal, LG made this refillable notebook. Here’s what she has to say:
“I have been scrapbooking for over a year now and I humbly admit that BTP’s is not something I do that often but who can’t resist Kaisercraft’s gorgeous BTPs. The Long Journal Tabbed is one of my favorites. The shape and the tabs inspired me to create a notebook for myself. The papers inside can be refilled because I have used an album ring.”
BTP “Notes” – LG Belarmino: Long Tabbed Journal (SB2016), Kaisercraft Lush Paper Collection, Lush Collection Printed Chipboard (CB110), Lush Collection Colour Rub ons (RB868) and Black&White Rub ons (RB867), Lush Collection Clear Stamp (CS746), Kaisercraft Wood Flourishes Birds (FL304) and Leaves (FL301), Kaisercraft Alpha Sticker (Brown and Tangerine), Grosgrain Ribbons (RI609 and RI606), Organza Ribbon (RI616), Rhinestones (SB710)
I used my Watercolor Pencils to color some parts of the Black & White Rub ons and the wooden flourishes

Sunday Scrap Space

Name: Kerryn Lawson
Nick name: I don’t really have one now, but in primary school I was called a walking dictionary LOL. But you can just call me Kerryn .
What I can’t live without when I scrap: I need to have no distractions when I’m scrapping, otherwise I tend to procrastinate, so I generally scrap at night while the little people are asleep. I should turn the computer off more when I scrap though – it’s that procrastination thing again!
Where I find inspiration: I am always blog hopping and being inspired by the wonderfully creative people from all over the world. It might be something as simple as a little idea that they’ve used, and I’ll tuck it away as something to try. When the mojo has gone on vacation though, I love to use sketches. The hard work is already done for you .
On my desk: Right now, very little! Only because I’ve been a good girl and tidied it for the photos . Usually though, I have my trimmer, my tote with all my tools/adhesives etc and the papers/embellishments from whatever my current project is.
Playing on my ipod: Ummm…. sorry I don’t have an ipod. I do however love to listen to music while I’m scrapbooking. One of my favourites is AC/DC. I need some good Aussie Rock to get my mojo flowing!
My favourite item in my scrap room: On top of my Ikea storage units, I keep some of my favourite off the page projects as well as some family photos. I love having these on display.
My scrap space :
A few months ago I was lucky enough to have a spare room converted to my scrap space. Well, it wasn’t really a spare room – it had hubby’s bar in it – but with a bit of a furniture shuffle around we have made the space a joint area that I share with the kids. Although it is more my space than theirs LOL.
I had seen so many people using the Ikea storage units in their scrap spaces so they were definitely going to feature in my room. I have not used the traditional box unit that most people use though. I love that I have varying heights and widths to store things in. I have managed to fill up both units very quickly though!
I am continually improving my storage as I find what I am using more and what I no longer need to have easy access to.
One of my favourite recent changes was to organise my paper. I KNEW where it all was, I just wanted a quicker way to put my hands on the paper I wanted. I printed out labels of all the manufacturers whose papers I have (there were a few!) and stapled them to old cardstock (all the yucky colours LOL). I now have all my papers together by manufacturer and they are easy to find.
My hubby suggested the trestle table I use. We have titled it on a slight angle, not enough for everything to slide around but just enough to give me the ability to look over my work. I’ll be the first to admit, It is usually rather messy though. I am always shuffling things around trying to find what I’ve lost only to find it was in front of my face the whole time.
It’s certainly not a big space, but it is mine and I love it!

My latest project:
With a number of different commitments, I am always trying to work ahead of schedule rather than leave things till last minute. So I can’t show you what I’ve been working on right now (although you might see a peek of it on my desk ), however I did recently have a play with a photo of my hubby and son that I’ve had for a while (it’s printed on gloss paper and I haven’t printed on gloss in almost 2 years!). Succumbing to the banner trend recently, this is my third effort at one (I think), and I’m sure it won’t be my last!
