Lush collection

This week Christy, Lesley and Monika welcome you to the Kaisercraft blog!  We’re blogging for the first time here at Kaisercraft and hope you enjoy what we have to share!

Monika:
Aren´t the Lush collection just gorgeous? It´s simply perfect for my little princess.  The other day she actually told me that when she grows up she is going to become a princess and she will rule the country. I think she has been looking a bit to much at the wedding of princess Victoria.

On this layout I have used pearl strips, they are really easy to bend to the shape you want and simple to work with.

Materials used:
Willow Die-cut PS105, Bamboo P536, Paper pad PP825, Embell. Pack EM919, Printed Chipboard CB110, Pearls PL506, Grosgrain ribbon R1601, Organza ribbon R1613, Paper flower Taupe F603, Pearl SB713, Rub ons Sugar & Spice RB805

Christy:  I was so thrilled to find that the Lush collection has some wonderful charcoal gray papers to help fill my latest obsession.  I don’t know what it is about gray that holds my fancy but they’ve been frequenting my pages lately, alot!  For some time I’ve been wanting to make a layout with a list of things I promise my son and finally I can check that off my to do list!  Enjoy!

Two of my favorite things about this layout is how the Lush rub-ons look on the black & white picture, just give it an added dimension and almost look like they were part of the original photo.  The second thing that I really enjoy is mixing my title with captial and lower case letters, really captures my eye and keeps me looking for more.  I challenge you to try one of these techniques on your next layout!

Product List:  Lush Patterned Papers P532, P533, P534, P535, P536, Lush Chipboard CB110, Lush Rub-ons RB867, Lush Diecuts DC321, Alpha Stickers A224, MA501, Clear Stamps CS758, Pearls Pewter SB791.

Lesley: I instantly fell in love with the Lush collection and the colours couldnt have been more perfect for this photo of my daughter. We were on holiday and she had been sick and miserable but she picked her self up and decided to pick ‘wishes’ for us all. So sweet!

“Heart of Gold” – Lesley Cooper: Lush Patterned Papers (PS33, PS34, PS105), Lush Journaling Tags (JT601), Lush 6×6 Pad (PP825), Lush Chipboard Button (CB110), Lush Clear Stamps (CS746), Lush Rub ons – Black and White (RB867), Alpha Stickers Cream (AS222), Mini Alphas Stickers Black and White (MA501), Grosgrain Ribbon Earth (RI607) and Monochrome (RI601), Inks Black (IP707), Antique Blue (IP716) and Sandstone (IP710)

With the cream alpha stickers, I embossed them with gold and then stamped over once they had cooled with one of the Lush Clear Stamp images. The heart has also been stamped and embossed.

To make a dandelion I used a strip of grosgrain ribbon and cut it in 3 pieces lengthwise, tied a knot in the middle and then frayed out the ribbon to give the appearance of a dandelion.

And I loved playing with this range so much that I couldn’t resist a quick and simple layout using paper and elements from the 6×6 pad. These pads are crammed full of goodness! I also used a piece of chipboad, rub ons and the clear stamps.

“Perhaps” – Lesley Cooper: Lush 6×6 Pad (PP825), Lush Chipboard (CB110), Lush Rub Ons – Black and White (RB867), Lush Clear Stamps (CS746, Alphas Stickers Black (AS226)

Sunday Scrap Space Leanne Allinson

Name: Leanne Allinson

Nick name: Work colleagues called me “Tink”, my parents call me “Lee” and some family members call me “Lil”. But I mostly respond to “Leanne”! Plain and simple.

Occupation: I am currently a Stay at Home Mum (and loving it!). In another lifetime though, I worked in Aged Care.
What I can’t live without when I scrap: Ink. I am using it all the time at the moment to define the edges of paper and of course with stamps!

Where I find my inspiration: I find inspiration in my photos. More often than not, it’s generally about the story I want to document on the page and that takes me in a certain direction. It generates the idea and then I blog surf!

On my desk: Sitting on my desk are several jars of coloured buttons, pencils and glitter. It is usually pretty cluttered with only a small space, directly in front of where I sit, free, so I can create. I make do with lots of bits and pieces to house my things. And as long as it keeps little fingers out and away from spreading things from East to West, I’m happy. :)

I store my papers in 12” x 12” boxes under my desk and my alphas in a rectangular basket. I don’t really have any storage/labelling systems because I don’t keep a lot of product. I work better this way, keeping it simple so I don’t become overwhelmed by all the gorgeous
patterned papers and embellishments that are available. This system (or lack of!) allows me to remember what I have on hand and so I then get to use it.

Playing on my ipod: I love the cast of Glee at the moment! Too funny!! The kids are going around singing “Don’t Stop Believing”.

My favourite item in my Scraproom: This would have to be my sewing machine. Since being brave enough to actually sew on a layout, I haven’t looked back. I have machine stitching on all my layouts. My sewing is never straight though! LOL! And my excuse is because wobbly lines of sewing create more movement that straight ones! For me, I think it finishes off a page without it becoming too cluttered. And I love my white space.

My latest project: My latest project is a weekly challenge.

My challenge involved taking an older layout and re-inventing it into the scrapper’s current style.

Fly High with Up, Up & Away Collection

Happy Friday!

Today we are highlighting the beautiful Up, Up and Away Collection by Kaisercraft. Despite using the same collection for the following layouts, just see how diverse and unique each page is made.

Camilla – “I was so inspired by the quote on the Up, Up & Away rubons. Life is all about choices and you have to learn to be bold and choose your own paths. That’s what I wish for my children. You can see them in the photo – walking in their own pace and choosing their own paths.”

Layout  “Egna val” – Camilla Ekman: Up, Up & Away papers: Admit one die-cut (PS107), Sideshow (P542), Bumpercar (P539); diecut elements (DC322); 6”paper pad (PP826); pearl strip – latte (PL505); embellishment pack (EM920); pearls – copper (SB790); flowers – snow (F601); flowers – chocolate (F622); mini alphas – white & chocolate (MA504); rubons (RB869); alpha stickers – brown (AS225)

———————————————————-

LG – “Upon getting my hands on this lovely collection I immediately thought of trying a dimensional page using foam tapes. The photo was me taken at Tung Chung, Hong Kong. We were at the giant bronze Buddha located at the top of the mountain. My hair being blown away is just too perfect for the hot-air balloon images, does it look like I’m on the balloon itself? LOL

Layout “FLY HIGH” – LG Belarmino: Kaisercraft Up, Up and Away paper collection, Die Cut Elements (DC322),Clear Stamp (CS747), Rub On (RB869), Alpha Stickers Brown (AS225), Pearls Chocolate (SB792), and Foam Tape (T303)

To add dimension, I made several paper rolls using strips from the stripe patterned paper. I also punch a lot of small flowers from the same brown patterned paper that I used. By adhering the flowers with foam tapes, the illusion is just amazing.

I did the same thing on the hot air balloons. I cutout the exact same image then used some foam tape to adhere them together.
