A little bit of Gypsy magic…

My sister has been asking for some time, for a little piece of scrapping goodness to adorn her office at work.  Up until now, I just haven’t come across the perfect piece for her.  I decided to use the Gypsy Paper Collection to decorate the new photo stand to sit on her desk.

In the first two frames, I chose a photo of  Liza and I as babies (one of my favourites) and a present day photo and printed the quote on some patterned paper.  On the present day frame I use a rub on sentiment from the Family Rub Ons (RB802 Heritage).

In the next two frames, I made a small pocket on both…..one to hold little tags with photos of us from early childhood and the second to hold a letter from me to her!

So why not choose a theme or particular group of photos to create a keepsake for someone special!

Tuesday Tip – childrens craft activities: how to make a pencil holder.

My children always want to scrap when I am scrapping…and this is such an easy project to do with them!

What you need:
1.    Paper glue
2.    Trimmer & scissors
3.    Collect a few toilet rolls {3}
4.    Collect scrap papers
5.    Collect embellishments

What to do:

1.    Place the toiletroll on a small piece of paper and draw a pencil circle around the toiletroll
2.    I used a punch to punch the circle out BIGGER than the circle that I have drawn
3.    With your scissors trim out little “triangles” as seen on the picture

4.    Place this circle around one end of the toiletroll and adhere all the little flaps that you have created in step 3 to the outside of the toiletroll
5.    Do this for all three toiletrolls
6.    Cut paperstrips and cover the toiletrolls
7.    Glue the toiletrolls together in a triangle
8.    Cut a paperstrip of approx 4cm that will fit around all three toiletrolls
9.    Adhere the paperstrip
10.    Cut a scallop border and adhere onto the paperstrip
11.    Now embellish the pencil holder in any way you like

This cute layout is from Nikki,

“I love this cheeky photo of Josh…..it captures his character perfectly…hehehe…. I chose a big photo to be the focus of this layout and typed my journalling in a large block to create some balance.  I kept the layout pretty plain as these two elements are such a big part of the page.  I used the new acrylic stamps and Kaiser Ink to stamp the border along the bottom and used the patterned paper to create the strip design at the top.  I also distressed and outlined the edges to bring the page in”.

“that face” layout by Nikki Antonello: Paper collection, 6×6 paper pads, Paper Flowers, Brads, Foam Dots, Acrylic Stamps, Kaisercraft ink, Alphabet rubons.
Other: Black & White gel pen, Bazzill cardstock, Ribbon, Microsoft Fonts – Maiandra GD & Jokerman.

Inking projects using NEW Kaisercraft mini ink pads!

Got ink? Need a project?

Check out a couple of fun projects using Kaisercraft’s new mini ink pads!

The first, from Design Team member Tanya Tahir!

“I used two frames from the Triple Frame Set to create keepsake frames for my sons’ bedrooms.  I painted each one with Kaiser Colour Coastal Blue and stamped the clustered hearts onto the corners of each frame using Staz On ink.  I then painted the letters and added my sons’ names and birthdates before decorating each frame”.

And next up a layout from Samanth!

When she made her Shaken not Stirred layout, she had cut a heap of cut-out circles left over from the George paper, so she used the cut out part as a stencil.

“I used the Munchkin paper from Made with Love and just inked the empty circle spaces onto it”.
